We bake in the oven

Of course you can!

  1. For sourdough, instead of yeast, we will use sour cream, a teaspoon. Let whey and sour cream wander together for about 12 hours.
  2. Flour, 600g, is mixed with half a glass of bran and kneaded with the finished sourdough. This will be the dough. Don't forget about salt and sugar.
  3. Next, we identically sculpt a bun from the dough, leave it to brew. Just don't run away.
  4. Do not forget to grease the form with butter and flour.

As we can see, the procedure for baking bread is very similar for all recipes. The main thing is the choice of quality products and their combination with each other. I bring to your attention yeast wheat bread with whey in a slow cooker. We will cook it in a quick way - without sourdough. I have tried different ways. Whey can be replaced with water, a mixture of water and milk 50x50 or pure milk. Every time you get something new delicious bread. But it is the whey-based bread that I like the most. You may need a little more or less depending on the quality of the flour.

Prepare the necessary products.

Sift flour.

Pour dry yeast into the flour and mix thoroughly.

Warm up the whey. It should be warm, around 40°C. Dissolve sugar and salt in whey. Pour vegetable oil into it.

Mix dry and liquid ingredients. Knead the dough. It shouldn't stick to your hands.

How to make whey bread without yeast

First you need to prepare the sourdough bread. To do this, pour the whey into a saucepan and leave it in a warm place for a day. Then add sour cream to the whey, mix and leave for another 12 hours.

After that, you need to knead the dough from the resulting sourdough. To do this, the flour should be sifted and mixed with bran, then added to the whey, after dissolving salt and granulated sugar in it. The dough should be kneaded in the evening so that it is properly spaced.

Then, from the resulting dough, we form a bun, which we transfer to a container that needs to be powdered with flour. Then cover the container with the dough with cling film and leave overnight.

In the morning, add a little flour to the dough, as it can become liquid. Then we form a bun from the dough, which we transfer to a baking dish or any other form, which should first be sprinkled with flour or simply greased with butter or vegetable oil. The top of the dough should be lightly sprinkled with flour.

Then we send the form with the dough to the oven preheated to 180 ° C, bake the bread for 45 - 60 minutes, depending on the size of your form.

Then the finished wheat-rye whey bread should be wrapped in a towel and placed on a wire rack until completely cooled.

In order to prepare fragrant whey milk bread in a bread machine, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Salt - 1.5 teaspoons,
  • Powdered milk - 2.5 - 3 tbsp. spoons,

  • Wheat flour or a mixture of several types of flour - 520 grams,
  • Raw yeast - 20 grams (you can replace 1.5 tsp of high-speed ones)

Cooking process:

If you are using a recipe with fresh pressed yeast, proceed as follows. The whey needs to be heated and then dissolve the raw yeast in it, pour the mixture into the bread machine. Then add warm melted margarine or butter, salt, granulated sugar, milk powder, which must be mixed with pre-sifted flour.

In our step-by-step photo recipe for whey bread, dry fast-acting yeast is used (Saf Moment and Voronezh yeast have proven themselves very well).

The ingredients for baking bread must be loaded in the order that is provided for in the instructions for your technique. In a Panasonic bread machine, yeast is poured to the bottom, then flour, and the rest of the dry ingredients. And then the liquid.

Another feature of this recipe. More serum may be needed than indicated in the ingredients above. A lot depends on the variety of one type of flour and mixture.
