Low cost. Build quality. nothing creaks, no love fit. Fast speed, no brakes, which also surprised me. Nice appearance. Outwardly very neat and looks clearly not on their money. 1 GB of RAM. Sound. loud sound, not wheezing.

    * Design! It doesn’t feel like a four-thousandth budget at all. Strict, stylish, similar at the same time to Lumia 520 and Xiaomi Mi3. In general, account. * Characteristics. Here the bottleneck of all smartphones on the MT6572 was eliminated: hooray, finally a gig of RAM! In Antutu, the phone scores 10576 points, almost overtaking the legendary Galaxy S2. And the IPS-display will give a light to all classmates. * Battery. Not the largest, but with such an economical processor, the body lives quietly for two days with a fairly serious load (calls, Internet via 3G and WiFi, as well as playing Ingress, which loads everything). * Price! 3990 - funny money! Galaxy S2, our closest analogue in terms of characteristics, cannot be found even on the secondary market for such a price.

The first thing that catches your eye is, of course, the design, it looks really more expensive than it costs, as it was already written before, it copies the design of many cool phones, but the Chinese love it) The case does not play, it lies well in the hand, two sellers have already dropped it, but I didn’t find a single scratch on the case itself, it’s only possible on a protective film, well, that’s what it’s for) I like the back cover coating, pleasant to the touch. * The screen is also good, the picture is beautiful, the IPS matrix pleases, the viewing angles are also good, but probably everyone has such garbage, and if the light is bright, then watching the movie is not comfortable, you can see the dappling on the screen, however, everything is gorgeous in the dark. * The performance suits me personally, the games are all running, at least the ones that I installed, and this is Subway Surfers like on medium quality settings, Real Racing 3 or

    1. stylish case with a matte back cover and good ergonomics 2. very high-quality screen, comparable to more expensive models 3. bright illumination of the touch buttons under the 4.2 sim screen 5. 1 GB of RAM and not the worst processor allow you to work almost without brakes. 6. good communication quality. the interlocutor can be heard clearly and distinctly, just like me 7. If you do not play and use it as a functional dialer, it holds a charge of 3 days

    1. It was not possible to enter Google play via wi-fi, I read that this problem happens not only on this smart, I solved the problem by going to settings-apps-Google play and cleared the cache there, rebooted, now it works without problems.
    2. A quiet microphone, many did not hear me well, I read that many ZERA F had such a problem, I found a solution to the problem on the w3bsit3-dns.com website, through the engineering menu (downloaded the application on Google plqy) changed the values \u200b\u200bthat were written in the instructions on the site and that's it now my interlocutor hears me perfectly.
3.Camera, there is no autofocus, if you just take a picture to show your friends "this is what I saw" it will still work.
4.Battery, damn it, that would be a little more powerful.
    5. NO notification indicator.

The battery, like everyone else, does not have autofocus, I would like the sound to be louder, well, there is no gorilla glass, which is natural for such a price (my stupid nitpicking)

    * The ninja-assembler, who pasted the factory film, was extremely crooked, and therefore we have two bubbles and a reduced sensitivity of the wheelbarrow, which must be pressed with noticeable effort. I remember the factory films of the old Xperia, the existence of which you might not even guess at all. I hope that this is a defect of a particular instance.
    * The camera is a C grade, despite the fact that it is advertised as "advanced". There is no autofocus, the quality is mediocre. Is that HDR out of the box pleases.
    * The firmware smells like a beta version. MT6572 can run much faster. After rooting and removing unnecessary standard programs, the body became much more responsive.

Eh, as much as I don’t want to admit it, but there are drawbacks and the longer you use it, the more you notice, personally I’m one of those people who find fault .. Eh, I’ll start!
    * The main drawback for me is the camera, someone doesn’t need it in vain, but I’m still learning and I have to take notes when I bought it, I didn’t think about what they wrote about the camera, I didn’t think that everything would be so bad, take a photo from the first it’s not easy, you need to freeze like a statue, then it’s more or less possible if you photograph the text, then only if it’s large, small it’s hard to see, I didn’t shoot the video, I can’t say that the quality is poor, however there are video reviews that show ..
    * Next we have a battery, I managed to use 3 days without charging, for this I set the backlight to a minimum, set the flight mode and

It is impossible to edit the titles of audio recordings in the player, so you have to download an additional player. It is impossible to set the song as an alarm, so you can also download additionally. Poor audibility during a conversation, quiet vibration, not very good headphones (sound).

You can treat it differently. Someone will like them because of the low price, and someone will never use them for a number of reasons. Today we will compare two low-cost smartphones manufactured by Highscreen, these are models of the Zera line - Zera S and Zera F.

To date, the Zera line consists of only two smartphones, as you might guess, these are Zera S and Zera F. The first smartphone can be attributed to state employees, while the second, so to speak, to ultra-state employees. What are the “budget” and “budget-budget” smartphones of 2014 according to Highscreen, read below.

Design and ergonomics

Externally, the devices are very similar. So similar that it seems as if the designers drew a Zera F, stretched its drawing and saved the result under the name “Zera S”.

Speaking seriously, the gadgets are quite compact. Here you will not find record-breaking thin frames (perhaps they even catch up with those in the iPhone 6 Plus), but still. Zera S with a display diagonal of 4.5 inches has dimensions of 131.6 x 66.45 x 9.4 mm. The Zera F, on the other hand, seems quite small, and at 4 inches it measures 123.8 x 63.1 x 9.9mm. The mass of smartphones is 146 g and 136 g, respectively.

The cases of both smartphones are made of really pleasant to the touch soft-touch plastic. Again, both devices fit well in the hand, but the smaller screen diagonal of the Zera F does it better.

As I said, outwardly Zera S and Zera F are very similar, but there is one noticeable difference (apart from size, of course) between them - this is the location of the power button. If on Zera S you will find it at the top of the left side face, then on Zera F it is located on the right above the volume rocker, which, in my opinion, is more convenient and practical. As for the rest of the keys and connectors, everything is pretty traditional here.

On the front side of both gadgets there is a display, a front camera, a light sensor, a grille, under which a speaker and three touch keys are hidden (“Menu”, “Home” and “Back”), and they are marked, frankly, incomprehensibly - and “ Menu”, and “Back” are dots. On the bottom side, you will find a MicroUSB connector and a microphone, and on the top, the manufacturer has placed a 3.5 mm mini-jack for headphones. On the right side of the Zera S and Zera F, you will find a volume rocker, the specifics of the location of the power button were mentioned above. The rear side is occupied by the eye of the main camera, a flash, a multimedia speaker grille and the Highscreen logo. It is strange that in such not the thinnest smartphones (9.4 and 9.9 mm), the eye of the main camera sticks out.

The delivery set is boring and ordinary, with the exception of one detail. In addition to an unremarkable power adapter, a wired headset and a few pieces of paper, in the box with Zera S and Zera F you will find a cool backlit USB-to-MicroUSB cable. Its MicroUSB side is highlighted. This nice little thing saves you from such eternal problems as searching for a cable in a dark room and getting the right side of the cable into the MicroUSB connector on the nth attempt in the same darkness. Also, with the help of this backlight, you can know from a distance of several meters that your smartphone is fully charged.

Display

Resolution 4.5-inch IPS-display Zera S is 960 x 540 pixels, pixel density is 244 ppi. All the same, on a smartphone, albeit a budget class, I would like to see an HD-resolution display. Of the pleasant features of this screen, one can only note the absence of a layer between the touch and liquid crystal layers. On 4 inches of the Zera F IPS matrix, there are 800 x 480 pixels, the pixel density of the younger model is 233 ppi.

Both displays respond quite quickly to pressure, however, tests have shown that they are unable to recognize more than five simultaneous touches. As for viewing angles, not everything is smooth here either: at relatively small deflection angles, both displays invert colors. This is unpleasant, even considering the fact that the devices are inexpensive.

cameras

If I had some questions about the displays of Zera smartphones, then I had real complaints about their cameras. I think it’s worth starting with the fact that the resolution of the main camera in the younger model is 5 megapixels, but the standard camera application allows you to take only two megapixel (!) Pictures, and this is in 2014 in the yard. Autofocus is missing. You tap on an item on the screen, but nothing happens. At first, this causes bewilderment, followed by indignation. But the same camera application can take HDR photos, how high the quality of such HDR is another question. The presence of a front camera in Zera F can be safely attributed to the advantages of a smartphone. How many state employees with a front camera can you name? The resolution of the front camera is 0.3 megapixels - you won’t take masterpiece selfies on it, but it’s perfect for Skype.

The resolution of the main camera in Zera S is 5 megapixels. Thanks for the autofocus. She takes very mediocre photos. You can evaluate their quality below. The video, oddly enough, is recorded in FullHD resolution. The resolution of pictures taken with the front camera is approximately 1 megapixel. The camera application here is exactly the same as on the Zera F, and on any other smartphone that has an MTK processor installed. There is an HDR mode and a bunch of others, among which there are all kinds of panoramas and “beautiful faces”.

Sample photos and videos

Hardware and software

Inside the younger model, a quad-core MTK MT6572 processor is installed, operating at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. Together with him, the manufacturer installed the Mali-400 MP video accelerator. The Zera F has 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. There is a slot for microSD memory cards, flash drives up to 32 GB are supported.

The processor installed in Zera S is MTK MT6582, which also runs at 1.3 GHz. The video chip is the same Mali-400 MP. The older model has the same amount of memory as the younger one.

Today, the most standard practice is to sell Chinese-made smartphones under a domestic brand on the market of our country. Few people think that these gadgets were created according to existing projects, and the craftsmen just change the look of the back panel or its color. One of the few manufacturers who are abandoning such a strategy is Highscreen. Everything here, from development to the gathering of finished products off the assembly line, is being done on the territory of Russia. The budget smartphone Zera F from this company was no exception. It turned out to be quite attractive in appearance, not very powerful in terms of performance and costing only 3990 rubles. Highscreen Zera F, which we will now review, is not the brightest representative of the budget niche, but it may well become one. Let's talk about everything in order.

Specifications

In general, the phone Highscreen Zera F is made with average specifications. But if you look at the cost, then everything becomes clear, because for that kind of money you can only take a weak “Chinese”. The table shows the main indicators of this gadget, which slightly outline the overall picture.

Equipment

The smartphone comes in standard packaging, which is made from recycled cardboard. Lifting the lid, you can see the Highscreen Zera F Black smartphone lying in the cradle. It is neatly wrapped in oilcloth. Additionally, the kit includes standard items in the form of a USB cable, charger, headset, instructions and warranty for the smartphone.

A film with characteristics written on it is pasted on the screen of the gadget. In principle, everything here is standard for a budget option. It is worth noting that the headphones that come with them are not very good. Despite the fact that they are almost identical to the headset for the iPhone, users often talk about their inconvenience and poor sound. But the main thing here is not the headphones, but the smartphone itself.

Appearance

The device is made in a classic style. This is a familiar monoblock with a four-inch touch screen. I would like to note that it is pasted on top under which there is not a single bubble.

There are 5mm bezels on the sides of the screen. Thanks to this, the smartphone can be easily held in the hand without pressing the sensor. The case is made of plastic with holding a smartphone in your hand, you immediately feel that just like that it will not slip out of it.

In general, the smartphone looks pretty decent. It is noticeable that a lot of work has been done on its design. If you are a fan of other models, you can see a lot of borrowed elements.

Smartphone Highscreen Zera F on the front side, on top of the display, has a conversational speaker, and below, except for three functional touch buttons, there is nothing else.

At the back are the main camera and flash. In the middle of the panel flaunts the inscription of the manufacturer. Below is the call speaker. It has special protrusions along the edges so that nothing interferes with the sound output.

The left edge is equipped only with a volume rocker. On the right, also in splendid isolation, there is a microUSB socket for connecting a smartphone to a computer and charging. The manufacturer placed the microphone on the bottom end, and on the top there is an off / lock button and a headphone output. In order to insert SIM cards, you need to slightly pry off the back cover. Here you can see two slots, a battery and a place where a flash drive is inserted.

Although the Highscreen Zera F smartphone is positioned as a budget option, given the build quality, you can easily classify it as a middle class.

Display

Most budget smartphones have a small display, but the Highscreen Zera F has 4 inches. The resolution is 480x800 (WVGA). This indicator is not the highest; upon closer examination, points are visible. But it's enough to use it.

Display colors are normal. Naturally, you should not expect a “live” display from such a display, but you need to understand that all budget gadgets are not capable of more.

The contrast is barely enough to make out the image in sunlight. But the viewing angles, which are almost maximum, are very pleasing.

The sensor supports up to two points. It has medium sensitivity. In some cases, it even inadequately responds to pressing. Such a nuisance turned out due to a very thick protective film. If you remove it, then managing the gadget is much more convenient.

Highscreen Zera F reviews are pretty good. Users in the screen are not satisfied with only two things: low brightness and lack of

Performance and equipment

The Highscreen Zera F smartphone is based on the MTK MT6572 processor. It has two cores with a maximum processing frequency of 1.3 GHz. The standard single-core graphics processor for state employees does an excellent job with simple three-dimensional games. 1 GB of RAM is the very necessary minimum, without which the smartphone will simply “think” for a long time. I am very pleased that all this was observed in the device in question.

The relatively old GPU has average performance. Naturally, he won’t pull “heavy” games, but simple ones, with 3D graphics, easily.

As a result of testing by popular benchmarks, the results were not very high by modern standards. But for such a device, this is very good. Highscreen Zera F Black could not be tested with some benchmarks, as they simply did not start due to their "heaviness".

If a smartphone is used in everyday life, then users have no particular complaints. Judging by the reviews, they even got more than expected. The interface itself works fine and only lags in some cases. Installing applications is done without any problems.

Software and firmware

Highscreen Zera F Black works with Android version 4.2.2 installed. In the very first shipments, a virus was accidentally sewn in, which sent SMS and downloaded applications without asking the owner about it. Naturally, this situation has collected a lot of bad reviews. But, in turn, the operational work of the company on the update corrected the situation.

The interface itself is standard and does not differ in originality. In fact, it's just a "naked" Android. Updates by users can be carried out over the wireless network. But the manufacturers of our country choose to release a new gadget than to support the old one.

Multimedia

The multimedia capabilities of the smartphone are standard. Everything here is simple and clear. There is a standard audio player available. It, like in all state employees, does not differ in a large number of settings, but it is quite enough for listening to music. The video player is weak. It is immediately recommended to replace it with another free player. Well, FM radio is also available. Everything plays well and plays loudly. Even videos can be viewed in HD mode, only the screen has a rather low resolution.

cameras

The Highscreen Zera F gadget has all relative reviews. In particular, this applies to cameras. There are two of them here. The first is the main one, the second is the front one (for video communication). For picky users, naturally, their quality will be very low. Well, what can you want from a device costing less than 4,000 rubles? Some users are satisfied with the quality of the pictures and claim that they are fully consistent with the price category. In general, there is no certainty here.

Accelerometer(or G-sensor) - device position sensor in space. As a main function, the accelerometer is used to automatically change the orientation of the image on the display (vertical or horizontal). Also, the G-sensor is used as a pedometer, it can be controlled by various functions of the device by turning or shaking.
Gyroscope- a sensor that measures the angles of rotation relative to a fixed coordinate system. Able to measure rotation angles in several planes simultaneously. The gyroscope together with the accelerometer allows you to determine the position of the device in space with high accuracy. In devices that use only accelerometers, measurement accuracy is lower, especially when moving quickly. Also, the capabilities of the gyroscope can be used in modern games for mobile devices.
Light sensor- a sensor, thanks to which the optimal values of brightness and contrast are set for a given level of illumination. The presence of the sensor allows you to increase the operating time of the device from the battery.
Proximity sensor- a sensor that detects when the device is close to the face during a call, turns off the backlight and locks the screen, preventing accidental pressing. The presence of the sensor allows you to increase the operating time of the device from the battery.
Geomagnetic sensor- a sensor for determining the direction of the world in which the device is directed. Tracks the orientation of the device in space relative to the Earth's magnetic poles. The information received from the sensor is used in mapping programs for orientation in the area.
Atmospheric pressure sensor- sensor for accurate measurement of atmospheric pressure. It is part of the GPS system, allows you to determine the height above sea level and speed up the location.
touch ID- Fingerprint identification sensor.

Satellite navigation:

GPS(Global Positioning System - global positioning system) - a satellite navigation system that measures distance, time, speed and determines the location of objects anywhere on the Earth. The system was developed, implemented and operated by the US Department of Defense. The basic principle of using the system is to determine the location by measuring the distances to the object from points with known coordinates - satellites. The distance is calculated from the signal propagation delay time from sending it by the satellite to receiving it by the GPS receiver antenna.
GLONASS(Global Navigation Satellite System) - Soviet and Russian satellite navigation system, developed by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense. The measurement principle is similar to the American GPS navigation system. GLONASS is intended for operational navigation and time support for ground, sea, air and space-based users. The main difference from the GPS system is that the GLONASS satellites in their orbital movement do not have resonance (synchronism) with the Earth's rotation, which provides them with greater stability.
