Viburnum engine 1.6.8kl. How much gasoline does Lada Kalina consume - passport and real data. Comparison of two types of engines

Before becoming the owner of the Lada Kalina, each owner decides for himself what type of engine to choose from those presented by the plant. Which one is better is to be judged only by the owner himself, based on needs, but the advantages and disadvantages of all types can be considered, and for those who have not yet made a choice, the article will be useful.

  • So let's start in chronological order. At first, Lada Kalina began to be produced with conventional eight-valve engines with a volume of 1.6 liters. The power of such a device is 82 horsepower and it has a torque of 132 Nm at 3800 rpm. The engine is far from new, one might say, all the same eight motor, slightly improved. Moreover, it has already passed the test of time for almost 30 years, since the VAZ 2108 began to be produced with it since 1984, only there were smaller engines. A fairly reliable power unit, 82 horses is enough to accelerate Kalina to 100 km / h in 13.5 seconds. Enough high-torque engine, pulls very well even at the lowest speeds. It goes uphill confidently, even on long climbs the car does not slow down, but rather picks it up. The advantage of an 8-valve power unit is also that when the timing belt breaks, on such a motor, the valves do not meet the pistons, respectively, the valve does not bend when the timing belt breaks. Fuel consumption at a speed of 90 km / h is not more than 5.5 liters per 100 km. A strange feature of this type is a strange gurgling, some strange sound during operation, as if it were diesel, but over time you get used to it and this sound becomes normal for hearing.

  • After AvtoVAZ began to produce the Lada Priora car, more powerful power units with a 16-valve cylinder head and a volume of 1.6 liters were installed on Kalina. It is capable of developing power up to 98 horsepower, data from official sources of the manufacturer's plant. But many owners tested this option on the stands and the results were impressive - the average power was about 110 horsepower. They say that the manufacturer deliberately, so to speak, deliberately reduced the power according to the documents so that domestic consumers and owners would not pay extra money for the transport tax, because after the milestone of 100 hp. the tax on transport rises sharply. The torque is 145 Nm at 4000 rpm. Kalina with such an engine accelerates quite quickly, according to some measurements, in 12 seconds to hundreds. Fuel consumption is slightly less, at the same speed of 90 km / h you will have to spend a little less gasoline, by about 0.5 liters. The dynamics of the car certainly surpasses the 8-valve car, and the maximum speed is 20 km / h more - 185 km / h. But the high-torque power of this engine is inferior to the 8-valve, uphill you will most likely have to switch from fifth to fourth speed. And one more drawback of such a powerful 16-valve apparatus: in the event of a timing belt break, you will have to fork out a decent amount, since the bending of the valves cannot be avoided, and repairs after such a breakdown are very expensive, and average from 15,000 rubles.

  • A few years later, after Kalina had already traveled with might and main with a 16-valve power unit from Priora, another one appeared, with a smaller volume, and also with a 16-valve head. This option was inferior in power to the 1.6 16-cl engine, but it was superior to the 8-valve one. So, let's say a certain middling, the power of 90 horsepower and a torque of 127 Nm at 4500 rpm. Due to its small volume, fuel consumption naturally became lower, and at the maximum permitted speed of 90 km / h on Russian public roads, this power unit may not even cross the mark of 5 liters per 100 km of track. The dynamics of the car is pretty decent and with such a small volume of 1.4 liters, the car accelerates faster than a 1.6 8-valve. The disadvantage is the same as that of the most powerful from Priora - the valve bends in case the timing belt breaks.
In any case, no matter which engine you choose for your Lada Kalina, each has its own advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on the style of driving, on the place of operation, whether it is a city or a country road. But do not forget that the cost of a car with 16-cl. the engine is more expensive by an average of 50,000 rubles, since a fairly decent list of additional equipment is installed on them.

In November 2004, the first series of the people's car Lada Kalina came off the assembly line of the AvtoVAZ concern. According to some reports, the first samples of small-scale production appeared on the market back in 1998. When production was established, the car began to be completed in three body types - a 5-door hatchback and a sedan, and later a station wagon. The manufacturer's data indicates that the fuel consumption of Lada Kalina is at an average level, which is confirmed by numerous reviews from the owners. In the future, both the body and the power unit of this car were modernized, today the second series of LADA Kalina is being produced.

Official data on gasoline consumption

There are two series of cars and several more of their modifications, the data on gasoline consumption of Lada Kalina are somewhat different, depending on the installed engine and body type. As a rule, the station wagon consumes more gasoline than the hatchback and sedan, due to the greater weight of the car. However, according to the manufacturer, even a hatchback and a sedan of the same series, modification and year of manufacture can have a slight difference in consumption.

In theory, Lada Kalina has an average gas mileage for a 1.4 liter engine of about 9.6 liters. in the city and up to 6.3 liters. when driving on a free road. Naturally, each modification has its own characteristics, parameters and technical characteristics, how exactly this affects the fuel consumption of Lada Kalina, we will consider below.

First generation

The first car in the sedan went on sale in 2004, the car was equipped with a 1.4 liter engine with 89 horsepower. The fuel consumption of Lada Kalina 1118 (factory designation) had the following values:

  • City - 9.6 l. per 100 km.
  • Track - 6.3 liters. per 100 km.
  • Mixed pace - 7.8 liters. per 100 km.

It should be noted that in 2009 the production of the first generation of LADA Kalina sedans was suspended, but within a few months the cycle was established, and until 2011 this model was produced by the AvtoVAZ concern

Hatchbacks went on sale a little later, towards the end of 2006, then the production of Lada Kalina (1119) was launched. In these cars, as well as sedans, they began to install a more powerful engine, which had a 1.6 liter fuel compartment and was produced with a power of 81 hp and 98 hp. At the request of the factory developers, which corresponded to the reviews of the owners, a car with an 81-horsepower engine had the following fuel consumption indicators per hundred kilometers:

  • City - 10.2 liters.
  • Track - 6.6 liters.
  • Mixed pace - 7.4 l.

As for the engine with a capacity of 98 horsepower, then for a hundred kilometers of road in different conditions, the consumption is:

  • City - 9.7 l.
  • Track - 6.4 liters.
  • Mixed pace - 7.1 l.

Only in 2007, the automobile concern rolled out the Lada Kalina with a station wagon body (1117), its fuel consumption parameters are approximately the same as those of cars in other bodies, except that when driving in the city, it consumes 200-300 gr. more gasoline.

One of the offshoots, produced in limited series, was produced by LADA Kalina Sport (11196), this car saw the light in 2008. Its gasoline consumption indicators per 100 km are:

  • City - 9.4 l.
  • Track - 6.7 liters.
  • Mixed pace - 8.9 l.

Like the entire first series, LADA Kalina Sport was discontinued in mid-2013.

Real data, according to owners

  • Viktor, Saratov. I have been driving this car for a long time, everything happened, except for serious accidents, and I studied the car well. There are weaknesses in the body, the front arches began to rot especially quickly. But the motor is reliable, unless of course you use high-quality gasoline, oil and coolant. Lada Kalina with a 1.4 liter 16-valve engine has an average fuel consumption. I drive mostly in the city and pour, as before, a dozen liters per hundred kilometers of traffic in heavy traffic.
  • Sergey, St. Petersburg. Bought Kalina hatchback for maneuverable city driving, in the process. In 2010, I opted for a 1.6 liter 16 valve version, and I think he was right. The machine is really nimble, and fuel consumption on such Kalina is even lower than on less powerful brothers in the shop. Of course, very often you have to stand in traffic jams, so the figure of 11 liters per 100 km does not seem significant.
  • Stepan, Ufa. A good station wagon from the domestic auto industry was bought by me first-hand in 2013, at that time the car was in good condition, although the racks were already knocking. During operation, everything else began to crumble, including the engine. The workshop said that I often filled with poor quality fuel, this seems to be true, the gas station near my house does not belong to any of the known networks. The consumption of Kalina per 100 km is about 11-12 liters in the city, but on the highway it may be a little less, I did not notice.
  • Yaroslav, Kazan. I live on the outskirts of the city and work in shifts, so major traffic jams are avoided and I get to my destination with minimal fuel loss. Therefore, for a hundred kilometers, the fuel consumption of my sedan is slightly less than 9 liters. Otherwise, Lada Kalina also completely suits me, she feels confident both on the road and on high-speed sections of the track.
  • Alexander, Konstantinovka. Purchase of Lada Kalina with a volume of 1.6 liters. and 8 valves, was not the best investment. Then I was guided by the advice of my comrades, they say, this motor is the most reliable. In fact, breakdowns were not long in coming, although minor, but others, I think, fail no less often. But the consumption of gasoline in a car with such an engine is the largest, it simply does not have enough power for a confident set of speed. So it turns out that even on the track she eats at least 9 liters per hundred square meters.

Second generation

Since 2013, the Lada Kalina car line has been updated and new cars have entered the market. Among them was not the usual sedan, which began the release of the series, but the production of 5-door hatchbacks and station wagons continued. Fuel consumption on the new Lada Kalina was reduced, but the manufacturer's requests do not always correspond to customer reviews.

The second Kalina was supplied with two types of engines, with a volume of 1.6 liters, but their power was different. There was also a choice of transmission options, as before it was possible to purchase a car with a manual 5-speed gearbox or a 4-speed automatic. A novelty was the entry into the arena of a 5-speed robotic transmission.

The power units installed on the Lada Kalina 2 had the following fuel consumption:

  1. VAZ-21126 - 98-horsepower engine, 1.6 l. with four cylinders and 16 valves was equipped with a system of distributed fuel injection. Gasoline cost indicators in the city are 9.9 liters, on the highway 6.5 liters.
  2. VAZ-21127 - had at its disposal 106 l / s. And fuel consumption on a free road was 5.8 liters, in urban driving mode it was 8.4 liters. Also, the supply of gasoline was carried out by distributed injection.

The owners of the expense on Kalina 2

  • Peter, Tyumen. Bought Lada Kalina Cross in 2015. This is one of the few representatives of the domestic auto industry with more than a hundred horsepower. And indeed the machine turned out to be lively, my hatchback can compete with some foreign cars while driving on open sections of the road. The reverse side of the coin is the consumption of gasoline in the city, the promised 8.4 liters, I did not observe both on the run-in and after it. This engine eats at least 10 liters per 100 km of road with traffic jams.
  • Lev, Voronezh. My wife does not know how to use a manual transmission, so I had to buy a car with an automatic transmission system. The choice fell on the second generation Lada Kalina 2014 release. Naturally, I understood that, as with any machine, fuel consumption would be higher than with mechanics, and so it happened. My performance, in the city, according to the on-board computer is usually in the range of 11-12.5 liters per 100 km of traffic. This sad moment was aggravated three years after the purchase, the injector with nozzles became clogged, for some reason this happens more often on the 8-valve Kalina than on other engines.
  • Taras. Moscow. I never regretted buying my baby Kalina Cross, she often helped me out in situations where more expensive foreign cars let me down. And when there were breakdowns, and this happens, the repair cost me not at all expensive. Of course, it cannot be attributed to the pluses that Lada Kalina has fuel consumption per 100 km, with a power of 106 hp. higher than that of foreign cars of the same class. In my case, in the city, I fill at the rate of 12 liters, but on the highway the situation changes dramatically and costs are reduced to 7.5 liters.
  • Ilya, Odessa. For a car with such a price, many disadvantages are forgiven, but they are. First of all, this is fuel consumption on Kalina, it can sometimes be compared with the performance of some SUVs. The regular failure of components and parts is also somewhat annoying, but the main thing for me is road noise. Compared to foreign cars, it feels like you are driving without doors. Of course, there are pluses, it is inexpensive service and parts are always readily available.
  • Andrey, Nakhabino. I don’t understand why people have so much hatred for Lada Kalina, because you can find out everything about it before buying, but there are enough minuses, but there are also pluses. Mostly they complain about the high consumption of gasoline, well, you can always put HBO and save money. Metal, on the body is good and thick, its quality cannot be compared with Chinese tin cans. It's just a pity that the quality of the factory coloring is rather weak, and over the years bubbles appear in some places.

Reasons for high fuel consumption

It is believed that Kalina's gasoline consumption is high fuel consumption, has objective reasons, but this is not always the case. There are situations in which the owner himself is to blame for the increased fuel costs, among them:

  1. Aggressive driving style - unreasonable acceleration on busy sections of the road leads to increased costs, driving along the highway at the maximum speed for a car also causes unnecessary losses. On a free road, you should not exceed a cruising speed of 90-110 km / h.
  2. Untimely maintenance - failure or clogging of some of the components responsible for supplying gasoline to the combustion chamber leads to increased consumption. Piston system wear
  3. Kalina, as well as other car brands, is also a frequent cause of high fuel costs.
Poor quality fuel - do not trust unverified gas stations, especially if they are without known identification marks.

Based on the information provided, we can conclude that Lada Kalina, like any other car, has a number of disadvantages, but it also has advantages, so you should weigh the pros and cons before buying.

VAZ 2114 Super Auto (211440-26)

A small family of AvtoVAZ cars Lada Kalina appeared in 2008 and includes sedan, station wagon and hatchback in this concept. The model was created on the basis of the VAZ 2108 and many units, including engines, were borrowed from him.

Engine VAZ 21114/11183 1.6l (2114 1.6)

The VAZ 21114/11183 power unit became an evolutionary development of the 1.5-liter 2111 engine, but with an oversized cylinder block, an increased piston stroke, due to which the volume of the entire engine increased to 1.6 liters.

Eco-standards have increased in the new motor, and it can also be called reliable and non-capricious, unlike the base 2111. Advantages in terms of traction and elasticity are noted.

The engine is recognized under several names: 21114, 11183, 2114 and motor viburnum, but the difference is only in the place of assembly.

The VAZ 21114/11183 in-line injection engine for four cylinders received an overhead camshaft and a timing belt drive.

The lack of hydraulic compensators is forced to periodically adjust the valves.

When the belt breaks, the valves do not bend; in the sports version of the camshaft, there is such a chance.

The disadvantages are generally the same as those of the VAZ 2111, that is, the same noise and diesel, tripling, temperature instability, and so on. 3

Engine VAZ 11194 1.4 16V

The VAZ 11194 power unit for 16 valves has become a simplified version of the Priora engine and an evolution of the VA 21083 in a modified version.

Unlike the base engine, the VAZ 11194 1.4 16V differs in volume, power and worse torque.

The engine resource has grown by 50 thousand kilometers compared to its predecessors and reaches 200 thousand km.

In the technical part, the pistons have changed, decreasing in diameter to 76.5 mm, which made it possible to reduce the volume of the engine and combustion chamber. This idea of transformation led to the fact that the moment on the bottoms was gone and the engine only runs from 2000 rpm and requires constant torque.

When the timing belt breaks, the valves bend, the rollers fall apart, and if the pump jams, the timing belt flies off, which leads to costly repairs.

The VAZ 11194 is not without various noises and knocks, temperature problems, floating speeds and other things. To date, the VAZ 11194 1.4 16V engine has been discontinued. 2

Priora engine 21126 1.6 16 valves

The power unit 21126 became a continuation of the VAZ 21124, but with a lighter SHPG of the Federal Mogul brand. The valve holes have decreased, the timing belt drive has received an electric tensioner. The cylinder block is surface-finished and honed to Federal Mogul's strict guidelines.

The injection engine 21126 1.6 for 4 cylinders received an overhead camshaft and a timing belt.

The disadvantages of the engine include loss of power, unstable operation and a problematic timing belt. The culprits for such malfunctions are flaws in fuel pressure, poor timing, defects in sensors, throttle and air pumping hoses.

When the timing is broken, the valves are bent.

Loss of performance is detected at low compression in the cylinders.

Floating speed can be corrected by cleaning the throttle or replacing the DZ position sensor.

Noise and knocks are typical for all VAZ engines and the problems lie in hydraulic compensators, connecting rod and main bearings or pistons.

Motor vibrations occur due to defects in high-voltage wires or IAC.

For all its shortcomings, the Priora 21126 1.6 16 valve engine is considered one of the best Russian units for a comfortable city ride.

Choosing a used Lada Kalina requires, if possible, a thorough assessment of the technical condition of the car. Starting from the regulations for the replacement of consumables, ending with the performance and weaknesses of the engine, gearbox and other important components of the machine.

More on the topic selection of used budget cars:

Specifications, features of engines and gearboxes

Four-cylinder petrol engines are installed on VAZ 1117, VAZ 1118, VAZ 1119 engines:

  • 1.6-liter 8-valve (81 hp),
  • 1.6 liters 16 cells (98 hp),
  • and 1.4 liters 16 cells. (89 hp).

All motors are paired with a 5-speed manual. Engine resource: if you're lucky, it can go more than 250,000 km, but the engine can surprise you even at 30-40 thousand.
Oil change every 15 thousand, timing belt according to the regulations, they change every 60 thousand (we recommend every 50 thousand mileage). There are no characteristic diseases, any part can fail in the engine, from the displacement of the liners to a crack in the cylinder head.

The situation is similar with the gearbox, only its resource is much less and malfunctions are more common. The checkpoint basically does not live up to 100,000 km, "native" clutch disc often requires replacement already at 25-30 thousand. Imported parts, although they cost more than the original VAZ ones, they nurse much more.
When choosing a Lada Kalina with mileage, it will not be superfluous to check and make sure that the compression is uniform in all engine cylinders. Do not be afraid of extraneous sounds from the gearbox - the howl of the gearbox is a family trait of Kalin.
steering rack with an electric booster can present unexpected surprises in the event of a breakdown (the load on the steering wheel increases sharply), the problem is inherent in Lada Kalina, released before mid-2006. On younger cars, the problem with the power steering was eliminated.
The front suspension of Kalina is independent with a MacPherson strut and an anti-roll bar, the rear is semi-independent with a beam and a stabilizer. Running energy-intensive, comfortable by VAZ standards. Handling is better than that of the VAZ 2110, but far from the average foreign car. The car rolls heavily in corners, a large range of vertical body swings, aerodynamic noise and poor interior sound insulation annoy at high speeds.

Used Lada Kalina problems in the technical part

The weakest points in the suspension are the stabilizer bars and shock absorbers. Replacing shock absorbers with imported ones changes the handling character of Lada Kalina for the better. Ball bearings, silent blocks, like many other components and assemblies of domestic Kalina, are akin to playing roulette. They can go out a lot - 100-120 thousand kilometers (you won’t know where the part is installed), or they can break down once a month. In general, everything is being repaired, and the prices for spare parts will not undermine the family budget.
Summing up, we summarize that with the choice of a used Lada Kalina, one must be careful and preferably “with hands”, since it is better to repair it yourself. Terrible corporate service of AvtoVAZ is not going to change for the better.

The cost of used and new cars

In the secondary market, Kalina can be bought for a price of 120-130 thousand rubles.
The initial equipment of the Lada Kalina is equipped with a 1.6 liter 8 class engine. (81 hp) with 5 manual transmissions, from the "chips" there will be an alarm, an on-board computer, a height-adjustable steering column, electric power steering, front power windows.
The price of the new Kalina hatchback in Russia starts at 293,900 rubles for a car in the initial configuration with a 1.6-liter engine (81 hp) and rises to 401,000 rubles for a luxury package with a 1.6-liter engine. For such a large amount for a Russian car, Kalina will be equipped with frontal airbags for the driver and passenger, fog lights, an alarm system and central locking with remote control, heated front seats, heated electric mirrors, electric windows for all side windows, air conditioning, a rain sensor, ABC in the drive brakes, on-board computer, electric booster, CD + MP3 audio system, navigator. For the Lada Kalina station wagon in the initial configuration, the Standard is asked from 298,900 rubles, the Lux will pull on 408,300 rubles.
In Ukraine, the cost of a VAZ Lada Kalina 1119 (hatchback) ranges from 70,290 hryvnia for the initial configuration to 81,390 hryvnia for a rich filling. VAZ LADA Station wagon costs from 74,070 hryvnia to 85,170 hryvnia.

Mileage 140 thousand km. Machine 2011. Changed the fuel pump, pump, 1 front strut amo. Everything else is native to Lada Kalina. Murmurs and whispers. I took it from scratch so that my wife studied. Now I take her in a taxi on the weekends.

My Kalina was bought in December 2011 at BipekAvto Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan. To date, mileage 100250 km. I was very worried, I shoveled the Internet a lot on the issue of timing - when, why, etc. But with a run of 96,000 km, I heard the noise of the automatic tension roller bearing. I changed everything at once, and the rollers, and the pump and the belt. It looks like they are new, but ... the most problems were with the replacement of the alternator belt - the new one (and the old one, too) did not dress even cry. There is no tensioner and it is almost impossible to get to the generator. Who came up with such a system, I have no idea. It is impossible to perform this procedure alone on the road, so you need to change it on time and in advance. I change the oil every 10,000 km, pour Shel 5W 40 all year round, there is no consumption. Sometimes I drag a trailer, though sometimes furniture, sometimes hay, I don’t force much, I try to use the reel, I don’t move sharply. Some write that they changed the clutch disc at 30,000 km. I can't represent your driving style! Generally satisfied with the machine. One wish to the manufacturers: lengthen the front end by at least 20 cm and the accessibility to the units will be better.

Kalina was the first personal car. And then and now I am sure of the correctness of the choice. Not killed heavily controlled Zhiguli, but not a new foreign car with sensitive control. just a car that helps to master the intricacies of taxiing, feel the steering wheel, pedals, master the gears by itself. the car is alive, it responds vividly to any action, after it I intuitively understand on the forehead of a decent car how to behave with it, what the response will be. I have no experience about tuning, repairs, breakdowns of Lada Kalina; Bought for a specific purpose. I know that many of them make candy. but as my first satisfied me in everything, I am grateful to him.

Sergey, tell me the verdict on the valves, I wonder ... I have a Kalina hatchback 1.4 engine, 2009, mileage 82000 km, during this time I changed the clutch 2 times, because I drive around the city, the fuel pump is in the tank due to the fact that several times gasoline ran out, sensors at a minimum (speed and idling), the trapezium of the gear motor - the slot was worn out, and so a normal car, consumption of 7 liters in the city. I’m afraid of the timing - I inspect the belt, rollers and tension every month, like the timing belt will last 140,000, but there the rollers and the pump must be strictly changed for 90,000.

Hello everyone bought viburnum in the tenth year 1.4 engine, mileage 125,000 at the moment. The car does not cause problems: I changed pads, oils, filters, and only remembered about the timing, he presented a surprise - tomorrow there will be a verdict on the valves. I remembered changing the speed sensor - the speedometer needle was falling and, at the same time, the electric booster did not work adequately. Does anyone know if the valve is bent or is there a chance? They say that if there are recesses for valves on the piston, then it can cost!? And so the car is worthy if not for its appearance. For me, after four priors in viburnum, it’s just like on a bus, just sit in the back seat and everything will be clear.

VAZ 21174 station wagon - at 27,000 km the checkpoint was covered (jammed in 1st gear) replacement under warranty. At 50,000 km, the replacement of the front brake hoses as prescribed by the factory and the replacement of light switches, at 30,000 km, the engine head had to be made (the valves are intact, but the valve seats are shapeless). Overall satisfied with the machine, mileage 86,000 km. I traveled to Kazakhstan, where directions are instead of roads. Mileage in Kazakhstan 7500 km, 2 times ruled with a sledgehammer discs, the car withstood everything.

I bought a Lada Kalina sedan - a three-year-old. For half a year I ran 30 thousand km, traveled 1200 km back and forth - no problems. The car helped me as a friend more than once, during this time I completely changed the rear brake system (everything except the drums themselves), front brake pads for 30 thousand km, valve adjustment for 25 thousand km, and for 45 thousand km, changed a couple of times lights and everything! Very happy with the car!

I am shocked by your comments. I bought a viburnum mileage of 30,000 km, it only changed the filter and oil. I adjusted the valves myself and changed the pump (leaking), drove another 10,000 km - I’m happy like an elephant)) Hodovka is super, the racks have more travel - it’s the very thing for nature, the box does not buzz. For the money there is no better car.

Dear Kalinovods! I want to buy Kalina sedan or station wagon used 2009-2011 model year. Is this device worth it? Driving experience on different cars UAZ, Niva, GAZ 3307, GAZ 31105, Ural, ZIL, KAMAZ, Mercedes E240, BMW 3, Chevrolet Niva ... almost everything except front-wheel drive!

Lada Kalina 1.4 station wagon mileage 107000 km. The car has been in operation for 5 years, I scored immediately on official maintenance, domestic cars are repaired in any service and not so expensive, although I do everything myself. For the first three years, up to 70 thousand, I only changed consumables - light bulbs, brake pads and a reverse sensor, I change mobil 5w-50 oil after 15-20 thousand. km. I achieved the minimum fuel consumption by replacing the Bosh controller in January (with firmware from Pauls), the city was 6.7 liters, and the highway was 4.6 liters. I changed the pump at 75,000, the front struts and muffler at 90,000, the timing rollers at 100,000 km. Now the rear right bearing is noisy and the steering knocks (I tighten it every 30 thousand). As long as everything suits!

Lada Kalina 1.4 mileage 115000. I bought it, traveled 1000 km, the sounds are all native, therefore I scored for official service. What happened: 1. I immediately changed the brake discs (I flew into a puddle, immediately led them, I say right away, I am a "rider"). 2. The speedometer jumped - replaced the speed sensor. 3. It stopped starting, or it suddenly starts - the fuel pump fuse (block under the ashtray). 4. It stopped starting, but the fuel is supplied, the candles are sparkling - running after the crankshaft position sensor. I heard a lot of horror stories about the timing belt. By 80 thousand, I got scared, I found the same number (do not spare money on the belt, do not put a cheap one, otherwise it will be much more expensive later). The old one took off, examined and understood - God knows how much, not the slightest flaw. 5. By 90 thousand, the electric power steering was covered. I removed the food from it and immediately realized what I was missing - I began to feel the road! Special in winter. Repair and do not think. Look like that's it. I pour Modil oil, change it at a run of 10 to 15 thousand km. I twist the engine up to 5 thousand revolutions. No, the front struts are still leaking, though only now. Consumables change everything (this is understandable). Summary: If you yourself dig into the topic and get high yourself, then there is no problem, all the details are worth a penny. The machine went through fire and water with me, I am grateful to her for that. If you need to ask something [email protected] Good luck to all.

Lada Kalina 1.6 l. 98 HP luxury equipment for 375 thousand rubles, mileage 50,000 - the car suits!
Dissatisfied: the quality of work and service of official representatives leaves much to be desired. The incommensurable price for this product, according to my estimates, is not more than 280 thousand, its cost in the luxury configuration, the noise from the gearshift lever.
I changed the tie rods 1 time, manual transmission 1 time (+6000 rubles under warranty), crabs 3 times, steering wheel.
Dissatisfied: rumble from the box (release pad or input shaft), the innate howl of the box, the engine's procrastination.
Pleases: energy-intensive suspension, the presence of an air conditioner, in case of a breakdown, you buy a bucket of nails on the market for minimal money and fall asleep in Kalina, everything is ready!

The car VAZ-1118 Lada Kalina was purchased in Krivoy Rog car showroom on the street. Meleshkin in May 2008. To date, the mileage is 173 thousand km! Breakdowns for all this time:
    - 30 thousand head repairs (valve burnout).
    - 57 thousand timing belt replacement;
    - 62 thousand replacement of the front struts (although I have already changed it three times to this day, I think the weakest point).
Oil changed every 5-7 thousand runs (TNK semi-synthetics). To date, these are the main failures. I attribute to small ones the power windows, the relay of the wiper blades immediately broke down.
In short happy with the car!

Today we will share the review of the real owner - is it worth buying a Lada Kalina with an eight-valve 1.6 VAZ-11183 engine.

Today we will share a review of the real owner of the 2012 Lada Kalina car, equipped with a VAZ-11183 engine.

The VAZ-11183 engine is the basic and simplest one, which was available on the first generation Lada Kalina cars. Now a lot of these cars are sold on the secondary market, so we decided to publish a review of the real owner - is it worth taking such a car?

Minuses

11183 - 8-valve 1.6-liter engine, 82 hp. It is equipped with an injection system of distributed injection. The design of the motor is extremely simple - there are no phase shifters, adjustable intake, etc. There are no hydraulic compensators here either, therefore, valve adjustment is required periodically (usually once every 30 thousand km). This is one of the disadvantages of this engine - from time to time you will have to spend time and money on adjusting the valves.

Another disadvantage is low power - 82 hp. enough for confident driving around the city, but on the highway (especially if there are several people in the cabin), it is better to plan overtaking well - there is not enough dynamics for a quick maneuver.

Also, as a minus, one can note the significant vibration and noise load of this engine.

pros

Now about the pluses, of which there are also many. Perhaps the most important and main plus is that the VAZ-11183 engine does not bend the valve when the timing belt breaks. Given the quality of the components, a broken timing belt on Kalina is a lottery in which you cannot guess when this will happen. For example, the timing belt broke at the author of this article before reaching 60 thousand km. At the same time, not a single valve was damaged - replacing the timing belt, along with a roller and work in the nearest car service, cost 2,000 rubles.

The second plus is the low transport tax. For example, in Tatarstan, since the engine power is less than 100 hp, the tax is 10 rubles per hp. - 820 rubles per year.

The third plus is economy. In urban mode, you can easily keep within 9 liters per 100 / km, on the highway, consumption in cruising mode does not exceed 6 liters.

The fourth plus is maintainability. You can service and repair this engine in almost any village, and many operations are available for self-fulfillment (changing oil, filters, candles, etc.).

Conclusion

Summarizing, we can say that Lada Kalina with a VAZ-11183 engine is more suitable for a calm, measured ride. If you need more dynamics, it is better to choose a version with a 16-valve engine. It will be more interesting in motion, but the transport tax will be more expensive, and if the timing belt breaks, repairs can cost a pretty penny.
