Herbs for cholelithiasis: treatment with folk remedies

Cholelithiasis, or cholelithiasis, develops against the background of metabolic disorders in the biochemical processes of bile formation. The disease is based on changes in the physical and chemical properties of bile, in which the substances contained in it (mainly cholesterol and salts) form crystals, and then large conglomerates. One in ten men and one in five women over the age of 40 living in developed countries experience this disease. Regardless of what specific cause is caused by cholelithiasis, treatment with folk remedies can significantly alleviate the patient's condition.

The basis of the development of the disease is a change in the viscosity of bile. This may lead to:

  • increased secretion of cholesterol;
  • excessive consumption of foods containing solid fats, cholesterol and sucrose;
  • eating foods low in fiber;
  • hormonal imbalance;
  • hypodynamia;
  • inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

In the early stages, in the presence of a small number of stones, cholelithiasis is almost asymptomatic. With a further increase in the number and size of stones and the addition of an inflammatory process, pain and heaviness appear in the right hypochondrium, bitterness in the mouth, nausea and vomiting, and yellowness of the skin. The intensity of these symptoms varies depending on the severity of the process.

If the stone begins to be evacuated from the gallbladder, an emergency occurs - hepatic colic with pronounced pain symptoms, fever, pain radiating to the right half of the trunk and arm, sometimes with involvement of the pancreas in the process.

Treatment Methods

Treatment with folk remedies for cholelithiasis is applicable in the period outside of acute attacks. It is based on agents that help dissolve the formed stones, and those that contribute to the outflow of stagnant bile. Reception of choleretic agents in the presence of stones more than 1-2 mm in diameter provokes biliary colic!

Means for dissolving stones

With cholelithiasis, it is useful to drink acidic juices, which can dissolve cholesterol and salt crystals. Squeeze the juice of a medium lemon, dilute it in 200 ml of water at a temperature of 40 ° C and drink it in the morning for 3 weeks. Not recommended for patients with high acidity of the stomach, gastritis and ulcers.

Beets contain betaine, a lipotropic substance that prevents the accumulation of cholesterol and the formation of stones. Grate the root crop on a fine grater, squeeze the juice through gauze, let the fiber settle for 3-4 hours. Drink ½ cup on an empty stomach for 3 weeks with a break of 1 week. Complete 3 of these courses.

Black radish contains glycosides, the enzyme lysozyme and ascorbic acid, which together give strong antibacterial properties. Mix equal parts black radish juice, lemon juice and olive oil. Shake well before use to emulsify the oil. Drink 1 tbsp. l. on an empty stomach every morning for 40-60 days.

The choleretic and choleretic properties of carrot juice are enhanced in combination with milk, preferably from a domestic cow. Mix equal amounts of carrot juice and hot milk, shake well and take on an empty stomach. The duration of treatment is 1 month.

A decoction of beets for the painless dissolution of stones is prepared as follows. Take 3-4 medium root crops, peel, cook over low heat for up to 7 hours, until the beets are completely boiled. The broth at the same time evaporates and thickens. Betaine is not destroyed during heat treatment and the beneficial properties of beets do not disappear. Take out the roots, ready to drink the broth warm in ¼ cup, before eating. Keep refrigerated.

Take a lemon weighing 150 g, peel. Grind in a blender with 300 g of figs, add 150 g of glucose and 2 tbsp. l. liquid honey. Figs break down excess cholesterol and activate the smooth muscles of the gallbladder. Take the resulting mixture of 70 g 3 times a day before meals.

Grate fresh horseradish on a fine grater, take 4 tbsp. l. gruel and mix with 250 ml of warm milk, put on fire and boil, remove immediately. Insist 5 minutes, squeeze the cake. Drink during the day the whole infusion in small portions.

One-component choleretic agents

Unique restorative and antiseptic properties are attributed to the birch fungus chaga. Take a small piece of mushroom (50–100 g), soften, fill with warm water for 3 hours, then grate or pass through a meat grinder. Pour boiling water over the mushroom at the rate of 0.5 liters of hot water per 100 g of raw materials, leave for 2 days, strain. Drink 1 glass 3 times a day.

Dandelion is useful for gallstone disease, as it lowers cholesterol, has antiseptic and antispasmodic properties. Pour 1 tsp. dandelion root officinalis 200 ml of water, boil for 15 minutes, remove, cool and strain. Take a decoction for at least 1 month to show the effect. Drink 50 ml 3-4 times a day before meals.

Phytoncides and organic acids of dill seeds dilute bile, promote its outflow and eliminate the inflammatory process in cholelithiasis. Pour 2 tbsp. l. dill seeds 500 ml of water, hold for 15 minutes in a water bath or cook over low heat. Remove, strain. Drink ½ cup 3 times a day.

Take 1 cup of dried crushed sunflower root, pour 3 liters of water. Boil for 5 minutes, cool without removing the roots, store in the refrigerator. Drink 1 liter of decoction per day, divided into 3-4 doses. Sunflower roots contain substances that dissolve salt deposits in the body, as well as antispasmodics and anti-inflammatory components.

Watermelon contains high concentrations of potassium salts, lycopene and antioxidants, which eliminate excess cholesterol in the blood, on the walls of blood vessels and in bile. Cut watermelon peels into small pieces, dry in the shade, pour water - 1 liter of water into a liter jar of peels, boil for 30 minutes, strain. Drink 1-2 cups 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals. For the same purpose, you can eat daily fresh watermelon in season.
