Order baby food from Aeroflot. Choosing food on board Aeroflot: what is on the menu and how to order. Special meals at Etihad

The other day, while checking in for a flight to Novosibirsk, I was surprised to discover that now, in addition to Muslim, Hindu and kosher, Russian appeared on the menu! In fact, it was introduced as early as June 1, but in order to order it, you need to have access to a reservation at least 36 hours in advance. But I usually register before 24 and haven’t used the service of choosing a special menu for a long time.

In general, I couldn’t pass up this one and ordered it for myself.
Let's see what's inside and how Russian it is.

The new menu is available on Aeroflot’s own direct flights when departing from Moscow on flights lasting over three hours.

Whoever can tell me the decoding of the first two letters, well done. RVHB: HB (Half Board) means half board, that is, two free meals a day - breakfast and dinner. Today we have breakfast.

So we have:
Millet porridge with pumpkin
Red fish pancake with lettuce and olives
Tula gingerbread
Yogurt, jam, bun.

I have already written several times that I don’t really like the usual flight meals that Aeroflot feeds passengers on regular flights (tomato sauce brrrrr....).
But guys... This time they managed to surprise me. This porridge was simply the height of perfection! Lunch and omnomnom!!!

But the pancake with fish went without delight. Nothing special, just like yogurt.
Instead of salad and not at all Russian olives, I suggest introducing lightly salted grurtsy or new potatoes with dill into the menu.

Depending on the duration of the flight and class of service, passengers are treated to Tula gingerbread cookies, ice cream or apples baked with cranberries for dessert.

The Tula gingerbread was in opaque packaging and a pleasant surprise was the imprint of the Aeroflot logo on it.
I didn’t eat it, I’m taking it home :)

Manufacturer and composition.

And here is what was offered to choose from for passengers who did not bother choosing special meals.
Yesterday only pancakes with lemon made it to row 30.

On the AFL website they write that business class passengers will be able to try on the “Russian” menu “Assorted Siberian fish” or “Chekhov’s mushrooms” for an appetizer, as well as “Tavern slice of sturgeon” with potatoes with mustard sauce or “Smolensk gruel with boiled water” beef" with Port Jue sauce.

For the next segment I ordered the “no added sugar” menu, maybe I’ll like it. We need to try everything.

So, how do you like this menu?

Since today 85% of passengers prefer budget flights, people who are interested in whether there is food on economy class planes. After all, this issue becomes especially relevant for routes that last for 5–9 hours. In addition, travelers are concerned about the quality and range of dishes offered. Let's look at these nuances in more detail.

Airlines are in a constant state of competition. For this reason, carriers are constantly improving the quality of service, which includes serving meals to passengers. However, when traveling with low-cost airlines, clients are unexpectedly faced with the requirement to pay additionally for such a service. Although even in such situations, airlines offer travelers free snacks and drinks.

The first condition for the probability of supplying power to customers is . Business class passengers choose a menu and receive restaurant-quality meals. For people who prefer an economical flight, the airline offers a standard range of meals. But charter flights or travel with low-cost airlines imply the absence of such an opportunity.

A separate nuance is the passenger’s choice of food based on religious beliefs or a decision dictated by the need to adhere to a certain diet. Here it is advisable for the client to apply in advance for the opportunity to receive an individual menu. True, such food on an economy class plane sometimes turns out to be paid.

Another condition for the provision of food is the duration of the flight. Newcomers often ask if they feed you if you fly for 2 hours. Here, the rules of airlines around the world are the same: hot food is served only in situations where the journey lasts at least 3 hours. So, in this case, customers are limited to cold appetizers. We will consider specific options for such a menu below.

Food on an economy class plane for flights of 3–6 hours requires a mandatory hot lunch or dinner. For trips that last more than 6 hours, airlines offer customers two meals a day. In addition, there is also a snack of yogurt or sandwiches between meals.

Features of the kitchen on an airplane

Food gets on board the aircraft under contracts with special services that prepare semi-finished products to order from the airline. Caterers cut, prepare, package and package food into disposable packaging, which is then heated by kitchen staff. Hot processing of food takes place on the ground, and in the air flight attendants only bring the food to a warm state.

After the plane gains altitude, the in-flight kitchen workers warm up the travelers' rations - after all, all the food is frozen. After heating the food, he offers each passenger an individual sealed launch box. Here, each dish is hermetically packed in a separate container. The tourist unpacks the food on his own and starts eating.

In the competition for clients, large Russian airlines Aeroflot and UTair compete in the quality of the service provided on board. These airlines independently develop menus and offer tourists food prepared using personal reserves.

Note that here travelers are given dishes that can compete with restaurant delights. Twice a year, the chefs of these airlines update and approve the assortment of food on board. Moreover, tourists who have used such services assure that the quality of the food here is excellent, and the portions are sufficient to satiate you. To understand the issue thoroughly, let’s find out when and what they feed on an economy class plane.

Airline offers on flight times

Let's start studying the specific airline menu. Let's start with short flights, when the journey does not take more than three hours. In this situation, the carrier offers passengers a snack with sandwiches, dairy products, pastries or sweets. Keep in mind that budget airlines here are limited to fruits, yoghurts or breakfast cereals.

It is appropriate to clarify the issue with a specific food offer even at the stage. True, it is advisable to take into account an important point here. On board charters and low-cost airlines, only drinks and small portions of baked goods are served free of charge. Although regular flight passengers who choose economy seats are offered standard meals for that class of travel,

When traveling when the flight is up to 6 hours, the air carrier provides hot food. Here, the obligatory set is a choice of meat and fish dishes, several types of side dishes and salads or vegetables. Sometimes the airline offers customers to try seafood, and the meal ends with sweets - cakes, pastries, candies.

Again, low-cost carriers neglect their responsibility to feed passengers. People who have flown with low-cost airlines say that most of these airlines prefer to charge customers even then. Find out about nutrition in advance - after all, in situations where you have to spend 3-6 hours in the air, it is appropriate to stock up on food from home, and not overpay for airline services.

Long flights of six hours or more require a standard hot lunch and dinner, consisting of a main course, salad and dessert. Moreover, in cases where you have to fly in the afternoon, airlines do not exclude customers from eating on board the plane at night. In addition, here the air carrier offers passengers a snack with sandwiches, muesli, yogurt or pastries. Budget airlines remain adamant here too - at best, customers receive modest portions for free. Moreover, food distribution here will take place only once.

About drinks

Of course, customers also expect drinks during the flight. The company offers people water, tea, coffee, lemonade and juices. In some cases, beer, a glass of wine or champagne may be served. Let us note that, according to reviews from travelers, the coffee on board the plane will not impress gourmets. Moreover, the quality of this drink does not depend on the flight fare and seat class.

Regardless of the flight budget, airline customers can expect to be served drinks en route

Airlines that fly regular flights always include the price of drinks for passengers in the air ticket price. Therefore, it is not advisable to worry that during a budget flight the client will not be offered water. As for alcohol, there is a bar on board, where travelers can order their favorite cocktail. Of course, you will have to pay separately for such a service.

Special offers

Now let's briefly discuss how things are with special nutrition. If we consider the offers of Russian air carriers, here the airlines compete in the range and variety of products. Aviation market leader Aeroflot» will surprise passengers with 16 options for a special menu. Here customers will find Muslim and Hindu food, kosher products and dietary dishes of various styles, food for children under 12 years of age, vegetarian or low-calorie food.

Advance order of the children's menu is included in the airfare

Travelers will find variations of baby food on all airlines. Moreover, serving dishes with spicy seasonings is excluded here. Children are offered poultry or beef meat products, dairy products, vegetable and fruit purees, and bakery products. Please note that food distribution on board begins with baby food.

As for payment, different types of diet require the free distribution of special food or the payment of an additional payment by the passenger. As a rule, food for children is included in the ticket price, but an application for kosher food on S7 airlines becomes a paid service.

Remember, it is appropriate to notify the air carrier of your personal taste preferences at least 36 hours before departure. Airlines prefer to receive such notifications by telephone. Here the passenger calls the flight number, air ticket and orders additional services. In addition, it is appropriate to clarify at the same time the need and method of payment for the service.

Nuances

Finally, we will define certain points that regulate the procedure and rules for issuing food on airplanes. The standard menu does not include preparing dishes from minced meat, mushrooms, serving desserts with cream or medicinal mineral water. Moreover, the calorie content of food is determined by the season of the year. In winter, carriers feed customers mainly meat delicacies, and in the warm season, the basis of the diet is light plant foods and seafood.

The assortment of food on the plane depends on the time of year and season.

Passengers have the right to order special meals only in situations where the flight timing requires serving a hot lunch. If a passenger, for health reasons or other reasons, needs to eat food immediately while in the air, it is advisable to discuss this issue with the carrier in advance. In cases where such an outcome is impossible, .

It is not advisable to worry that a special diet does not meet the established rules. Airlines entrust the preparation of dishes of this kind to restaurants that specialize in a specific type of cuisine. In addition, such a menu is checked for compliance with all canons by experts in the field of food technology.

To ensure that your flight does not bring any inconvenience and leaves only pleasant memories, take care of your personal comfort in advance. Check with the airline representative for an approximate set of meals and find out whether such a service will require an additional payment. We hope your first flight by airline will bring you only positive emotions.

Competing with each other, major air carriers are improving service on board the aircraft, offering customers a healthy and satisfying menu
Unfortunately, budget flights on low-cost airlines or charter aircraft usually do not provide free food distribution
Food preparation and processing takes place on the ground; flight attendants only heat frozen semi-finished products.
Some major airlines pamper customers with baked goods that are prepared during the flight
When the route involves a flight of up to 3 hours, passengers are offered only sandwiches and pastries
Standard hot lunch on board scheduled flights

Yesterday I talked about disgusting food on planes and saw comments from some readers who wondered why some passengers were served different food.
Today I’ll tell you about this point - what special food is, how to order it and how it differs.
Not long ago I decided to experiment on those flights where I already knew that the standard food would be disgusting.
I won’t name the blogger, but he once recommended ordering kosher special meals on Aeroflot flights. Like, the food is much tastier and there is much more of it.
I decided to check it on the short flight Simferopol-Moscow and the transcontinental Moscow-Hanoi.
The results were mixed...

2. First, how to order special meals for your flight.
To do this, you need to go to the airline’s website and use your ticket number or booking code to open your reservation.
If the airline allows you to choose the type of food, in an open booking you will be able to indicate if you want kosher, vegetarian, diabetic, children's, low-calorie (there are also options for seafood, salt-free food, Asian food, Muslim, fruit, gluten-free and others).
On the Simferopol-Moscow flight, the standard Aeroflot meal includes a sandwich of a bun, a piece of ham and cheese with a lettuce leaf, wrapped in plastic wrap, which has been in the refrigerator. In addition, a piece of black bread, butter, processed cheese and a bag of apple juice.
Kosher food is brought in a sealed box. Let's open it.

3. Attached in the most visible place is a kosher certificate and a paper bag for small garbage (the latter is very convenient!)

4. There really is a lot more food in the box. There is a bun, a jar of sautéed sweet peppers, a portion of chicken pate with mushrooms and a dessert of berries mashed with sugar.

5. But always quantity means that finally you will not fly hungry.
For example, this pate looks so great that you immediately want to close it and return it to the box.
But the sauté turned out to be very good. The same goes for fruit dessert.

On the flight from Moscow to Hanoi, I no longer took photographs of the contents of my kosher boxes, because... it was practically no different from what was served on the short flight from Simferopol.
The box with dinner was additionally accompanied by a tray of hot food - something incomprehensible, which on the label was called pasta with beef, and for breakfast they served a warmed omelette with onions, which went back into the box after the pate.
But the standard food was very decent, with a choice of hot dishes and desserts.
In general, the conclusion is that if on a short flight an Aeroflot kosher box still somehow outperforms a cold, tasteless sandwich, then on a long international flight there is definitely no point in experimenting with it...

My previous photo reports and photo stories:

On Aeroflot aircraft there is a procedure for feeding passengers established by governing documents. It includes standards and types of food depending on the time of departure, flight duration, class of service, and also regulates the possibility of ordering special food for children, dietary, religious and vegetarian food. Food on board Aeroflot meets the requirements of international and state regulations and is not inferior in quality to similar products of other best airlines in the world.

Types of food include cold snacks, breakfast, lunch, snacks (light snacks), as well as cold and hot soft drinks, and in certain cases, alcoholic drinks.

Meals on board Aeroflot

Aeroflot economy class menu

There are 3 classes: economy, comfort and business. Comfort class is available only on the following routes: Beijing, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Tel Aviv, Vladivostok, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Khabarovsk, Seoul, Phuket, New York, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai, which are served by Boeing 777 aircraft. On flights to other destinations there are only two other classes.

For flights lasting less than 2 hours, passengers receive a cold snack (sandwich with meat or cheese).

If the flight duration is from 2 to 4 hours, the flight attendants offer a hot dish, a cold appetizer (vegetable or meat salad, salted fish), a hot drink (tea, coffee) and dessert.

Additional Information. The assortment of hot dishes should be at least three to choose from, for example, meat, poultry, fish.

When travel time exceeds 4 hours, meals are offered twice. In this case, the diet includes both of the above options. Cold drinks - water and juices - may be offered throughout the flight.

On flights lasting 6 hours or more, in addition to the above, there is a bar where passengers can have their own snack. The bar offers snacks and soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks (wine, beer) can only be offered on international flights according to an approved list, which are served by Boeing 777 and Airbus 330 aircraft.

Lunch in economy class on the flight Moscow - Miami

Meals on all lines are free of charge.

For flights departing between 5:00 and 10:00, a hot breakfast is served, which includes a hot dish, an appetizer of meat, cheese, vegetables, a hot drink and a cake.

Interesting! On flights departing after 10:00, passengers receive a hot lunch. At lunch, a hot dish is served with a side dish (rice, pasta, potatoes, buckwheat), salted fish, vegetable salad and a fruit bar with tea or coffee are always served.

Instead of a verbal offer of dishes to choose from, an Aeroflot menu is issued. In addition to the choice of the passenger, a bun, jam, butter, yogurt, fruit can be served on a tray.

Comfort and business class menu

The menus of comfort class and business class passengers practically do not differ from each other. This is a set of restaurant a la carte dishes, fine wines and snacks. The main developer of the recipes is LSG SFY CHEFS Chef Thierry Monat.

The menu is updated once every 1.5 months. Chocolate, yogurt, and milk are added to breakfast.

Example of lunch for a business class passenger:

  • for an appetizer - smoked sausage, balyk, red caviar, vegetables;
  • hot dish - chicken tabaka (option) with fries and sauce;
  • for dessert - ice cream or whipped cream, wine, coffee or tea.

Religious food

Nutrition in accordance with religious beliefs today comes in four types: Muslim, halal, Hindu, Jewish (kosher), and fasting.

  • Muslim diet excludes the use of pork, gelatin, and alcohol. Available for domestic and international flights, except flights from Moscow. MOML.
  • Halal food differs from Muslim food in that it is prepared according to the norms and requirements of Islam and is confirmed by a special Halal certificate of conformity. Available for order on flights from Moscow. MOML.

There are two types of kosher food - kosher meat and kosher dairy. Meat and dairy products are not allowed in the same meal. As a rule, breakfast contains dairy components, lunch - meat.

Additional Information. Fish or poultry meat should not contain blood particles; this is achieved by a special method of processing them. Pork and wild boar are prohibited. Only scaly fish are allowed for consumption.

During the Passover holiday, one more requirement is added - leaven is excluded, that is, components that, under the influence of internal biological processes, change the shape of the product, for example, yeast. Therefore, during this period, matzo and products made from matzo flour are consumed instead of bread. At the same time, the seal of the controlling institution must contain the phrase “Kosher le Pesach”.

If a passenger has ordered this type of special meal, the kosher meal on the Aeroflot plane is given to him in a sealed package.

Note! Only after making sure that the seals are not broken, you should open the package, inside there is a certificate certifying kosher in Russian and Hebrew. The flight attendant will ask if the passenger wants the main course to be hot, if the answer is yes, he takes it to warm it up and returns it ready after a few minutes. Another package contains cold snacks and a sealed drink.

For breakfast, a huge omelette with spinach and onions is offered as a hot dish. For lunch it could be fish, poultry or beef stew. Potatoes, rice, cereals or vegetable stew are used as side dishes. Cold appetizers can include hummus, tahini, and vegetable salads. For dessert, fruits, pastries, and confiture are offered. Each dish is hermetically sealed in vacuum film.

Lenten meals include vegetable salads, hot dishes of stewed vegetables and mushrooms and cereals, fruit desserts, nuts and dried fruits. Meat, fish and dairy products are excluded. When compiling a lenten menu, not only religious preferences are taken into account. It is designed to make the food on board the aircraft more tasty and varied.

Kosher special food

Vegetarian food
