Ivan tea: beneficial medicinal properties and contraindications for women and men. Ivan tea: use at home Ivan tea use in cosmetology

Nature's pantry holds many treasures. One of them is “Ivan-tea” - a plant overgrown with hundreds of legends and tales, which has an innumerable number of useful properties, in some cases successfully replacing a real first aid kit.

In fact, there are many names. Some sources (for example, Annenkov’s dictionary) list more than 10 names of this plant. “Ivan-tea” is the most sonorous name compared to the others (clover, willow-grass, lyubish, hrypnyak, etc.), and therefore it has become entrenched among the people.

Legend 1

The Russian guy Ivan loved to pick flowers and spent almost all his time in the field. People passing by shouted: “Ivan, tea is wandering.” Ivan disappeared, and new flowers appeared in that field, the appearance of which people explained: “This is Ivan, tea!”

Legend 2

Tea was made from fireweed, which was in great demand among foreigners. When the merchant wanted to buy fireweed, he shouted: “Ivan, give me tea!” Ivan - because this name personifies all Russian men.

Useful properties of Ivan tea

The plant affects not only a living organism - it, for example, restores the soil after a fire (it is fireweed that first begins to grow on burnt soil) and has other beneficial properties.

Chemical composition:

Pharmachologic effect:

  • anti-inflammatory (the highest coefficient among all plants known to science);
  • enveloping (due to a large amount of mucus);
  • antitumor;
  • antiviral (for example, copes with herpes);
  • antiallergic;
  • decongestant;
  • anticonvulsant.

Contraindications to the use of Fireweed

Pregnancy and individual intolerance to the plant. It is also not recommended to take fireweed for longer than 14 days (standard course), since Ivan tea is also a laxative.

Preparation of Ivan tea

To preserve the properties/vitamins/microelements/other important components, it is necessary to properly collect, process and store fireweed. Otherwise, the beneficial effect of the herb will be negated.

How to collect?

The general time is from July to early September. The leaves are collected when the plant blooms (July), the roots - in the fall. In order not to harm the flower, the leaves must be plucked using a special method: take the top of the stem, squeeze it and slowly move your hand down.

How to dry?

Ivan tea is dried in the shade, usually in a slight draft. A sign of readiness is that the plant becomes like black tea, and if you touch its leaves, they break, but do not crumble.

The roots are treated differently: they are thoroughly washed from the soil, dried a little and continued drying in the oven or stove.

How to brew?

The plant can be used alone or mixed with other herbs (to enhance the medicinal effect or improve the taste, for example).

Algorithm:

  1. A couple of tsp. leaves for a half-liter teapot.
  2. Fill a third of the kettle with boiling water.
  3. After five minutes, fill the container with water.
  4. Wait at least 10 minutes (this depends on what strength you need).

After the first brew, you can do several more: usually up to 5 times. The properties will not be lost.

You can also drink iced tea. No need to add sugar. if you really want something sweet, take honey, raisins, halva, and so on.

Storage

Usually in sealed glass containers. The container must be dry, otherwise the plant will deteriorate. Leaves and flowers can be stored for 2 years, roots - about 3 years.

Medicinal properties of Fireweed - recipes at home

The given recipes are not a panacea, and the ingredients in them can vary freely.

You will need chickweed grass in dry form. Ivan tea and chickweed (1 liter each) need to be mixed and poured with boiling water (volume - approximately 300 ml, but you need to focus on the strength you want to get). At room temperature, the broth should cool completely. When this happens, you need to strain the drink from the grass. Now the medicine is ready, you need to take it in the morning, about 50 ml, without adding other ingredients. Drink on an empty stomach.

Nerve diseases and insomnia

Fireweed calms the central nervous system, so it is often used (as part of medications) for violent mental patients. To improve your sleep, drink a cup or two of this aromatic tea a couple of hours before going to bed.

As a means of preventing cancer

In the 70s, chanerol was obtained from Ivan tea - a drug that became the basis for drugs that fight cancer. There is no universal recipe for cancer, so fireweed in any form is useful for those suffering from this disease.

Fireweed oil: healing properties

The most striking effect of the oil is wound healing. Moreover, the medicine acts not only on external damage, but also on internal ones.

Used for treatment:

Packaging of Ivan tea for sale

Tea is so popular in Russia and abroad that it can even be seen in the types of packaging produced for its sale. Look at the photo.

WHY DID HITLER DESTROY THE Ivan-CHAY FACTORY?

In the village of Koporye, located in the Leningrad region, in 1941 there was a secret facility (factory) under the bright name “River of Life”. She produced experimental drinks using Ivan tea according to ancient Russian recipes for soldiers of the Red Army.

As Hitler’s troops approached the northern capital of Russia, Hitler gave the order to send a brigade of tanks to the village of Koporye, which completely destroyed the “River of Life” facility.

Hitler was afraid:

Beliefs that Ivan tea gives the Russian soldier military strength and courage in battle.

Possibilities of Ivan tea. As you know, this plant grows wild and grows in entire plantations and fields without human intervention. This “wild plant” begins to grow especially quickly at the site of fires.

In the post-war period, there was no time to restore the factory and the topic of mass production of drinks using Ivan tea was frozen until an indefinite time.

Ivan-tea healthy food for animals

Many women save themselves from dark circles and bags under their eyes in the morning by applying tea bags to them. Despite the apparent effect of such a procedure, not all cosmetologists recommend doing this.

And it’s not all about tea, which can be extremely useful for facial skin care. The problem is its quality. Therefore, when deciding on such home experiments, it would be a good idea to learn how to properly use this beloved drink to eliminate cosmetic defects and shortcomings.

The benefits of different varieties

From a huge number of varieties, you will need to choose a specific one that you will use for your facial skin. Each of them has special cosmetic properties. This is explained by the fact that as a result of various production processing, some useful substances are lost, others are much less than in fresh raw materials.

  • Green

Not only cosmetologists, but also dermatologists consider green tea one of the best therapeutic and cosmetic products for the face. And all because it does not undergo fermentation, retaining a maximum of useful substances in its leaves. Therefore, most brands prefer to use this extract in their cosmetics.

At home, it is also better to use this variety for facial skin care. It has pronounced tonic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties. Works great on acne and blackheads. As an antioxidant, it stops the aging process and prevents the appearance of new wrinkles.

  • White

It is completely in vain that many people forget to use white tea as a cosmetic product. This variety undergoes minimal fermentation. After green, it ranks second in terms of the content of nutrients. It has truly healing properties: it prevents skin cancer (confirmed by many laboratory studies), has an anti-inflammatory effect, eliminating pimples and acne. Even ordinary lotions made from it have a very beneficial effect on subcutaneous blood circulation. As a result, a healthy blush appears and disappears.

  • Black

Despite the fact that black tea is most often used in home cosmetology, it contains much less bioactive substances that affect the condition of the skin than white or green varieties. It undergoes fermentation, during which its beneficial properties are lost. And yet it tones well and has a rejuvenating effect on the skin. But most importantly, it improves the complexion and is able to give it a light tan, thereby veiling age spots. Therefore, it is actively used to eliminate.

  • Hibiscus

Hibiscus is not a tea in the truest sense of the word (it is made from the Sudanese rose, not the tea bush), but many people love this drink for its unusual sweet and sour taste. It is also actively used in lotions and masks. And for good reason: it reduces inflammatory reactions and promotes high-quality cleansing of the face. The citric acid it contains is an excellent bleacher for age spots.

  • Blue

Recently, to eliminate rashes and treat various skin diseases, it is increasingly recommended to wipe the face with blue tea. Here you need to understand what we are talking about, because blue tea is represented by two completely different drinks.

Firstly, this is a Chinese medium-fermented oolong (oolong). It tones and has anti-inflammatory properties. But it is rarely used. And when brewed it will be a faint turquoise, barely noticeable shade.

Secondly, this is a Thai drink that is made from the clitoris trichaitis. It has an incredibly bright blue color. Since it contains almost the entire range of B vitamins, it is recommended to be used for the treatment of weeping eczema, erosions and ulcers on the face, severe irritation, etc.

  • Blooming Sally

Ivan tea deserves special attention, as it makes excellent anti-inflammatory and cleansing masks. Recommended for those with problem skin, acne and blackheads. Its benefits for facial skin are explained by the fact that it is not subjected to industrial processing.

On a note. There are about 1,500 varieties of tea, but they are all classified into only 6 main types: green, black, white, yellow, red (oolong), post-fermented (puer). And any of them (but with varying degrees of effectiveness) can be used to care for facial skin.

Features of application

To achieve the desired result from tea-cosmetic procedures, follow the following instructions:

  1. The main recommendation is to use high-quality loose leaf tea. If you want the product to be as effective as possible, you will have to forget about bags with dubious composition. (Even if you thought they were helping you).
  2. You will need a product without additional additives (in the form of pieces of fruit, flavorings, etc.).
  3. There is an opinion that tea spoils the complexion, but this only happens in two cases. Firstly, if low-quality or expired, long-brewed raw materials are used. Secondly, if a mask or cream based on it is distributed unevenly over the skin. Then ugly bright spots form all over the face. But this only applies to black varieties.
  4. Some sources indicate that it is better not to use tea masks before bed due to their invigorating effect. In fact, the concentration of caffeine and tannin in them is not so high as to cause insomnia. After all, they act on the skin as external agents and do not affect the nervous system in any way.
  5. Learn how to brew this drink correctly so that it is as beneficial to your skin as possible.
  6. Lotions, compresses, rubbing, washing can be done daily. Masks are not recommended to be used more than 1-2 times a week.
  7. Tea rarely, but still causes allergic reactions, so it is initially recommended to test a new product on the wrist or the inner crease of the elbow.

Follow these rules during tea facial treatments - and you are guaranteed soft, elastic, healthy skin.

Lifehack. Since you need to use only high-quality raw materials for facial care, it will be useful for you to know what tips are. These are fluffy buds of tea leaves. If they are present in your pack, this is indeed a worthy product, from which the cosmetic benefits will be several times greater than from bags with incomprehensible contents.

The healing properties of fireweed are widely used in cosmetology. As a rule, when creating face masks, a tincture of fireweed tea with vodka or alcohol is used.
There are certain rules for using face masks that must be followed to obtain positive results.
1. Masks should only be applied to well-cleansed facial skin.
2. It is recommended to prepare masks immediately before using them.
3. Masks should be applied to the face along the main massage lines so as not to stretch the skin, and to the neck - from bottom to top, in the direction from the base of the neck to the chin.
The mask can be kept on the skin for no more than 30 minutes (the optimal time is 15-20 minutes).
4. During the procedure, it is recommended to relax, keep your facial muscles still, and avoid talking.
5. Remove masks carefully, without rubbing or injuring the skin. To do this, you can use boiled water or herbal infusions. If the mask on the skin has dried out, it is recommended to use a damp cotton swab to remove it.
6. After removing the mask, apply a nourishing cream to dry and sensitive skin, rinse normal and oily skin with a decoction of herbs or wipe with tonic.
7. Masks must be selected according to your skin type and condition.
8. To achieve a positive result, masks are recommended to be carried out in courses of 10-15 procedures.
Based on their effect on the skin, there are softening, nourishing, toning, astringent, whitening and exfoliating masks.
A separate group consists of therapeutic masks, the main purpose of which is to eliminate various skin imperfections: acne, increased greasiness, sagging, peeling, redness, etc.
Attention! Despite the fact that fireweed is practically harmless and its use does not cause unwanted effects, various ingredients in skin masks can cause an allergic reaction in some people.
It is recommended to conduct a test before applying the mask.
If you experience allergic symptoms or noticeable discomfort, do not use this recipe. Better yet, take a test in advance at a specialized clinic for possible allergies from certain plant components.
