Decongestants for pregnant women. What helps with swelling during pregnancy. Diuretics for pregnant women

Women in the last months of gestation often wonder what helps with swelling during pregnancy? Basically, these are diuretics, which can be prescribed in the form of medications or folk methods are used, based on medicinal herbs. Diuretics contribute to the rapid removal of accumulated water from the body and the normalization of the water-salt balance.

Pills, remedies and drugs for edema during pregnancy

To date, there are a large number of drugs that are used to remove fluid, but not all of them are allowed during pregnancy.
Permitted drugs:
  1. Phytolysin - a paste that helps with swelling, is used in the form of a suspension 3-4 times a day. The main ingredients are vegetable components: oils of orange, pine, sage, mint with the addition of parsley root, birch leaves, horsetail and knotweed grass. Contraindication is pyelonephritis and allergy to the composition.
  2. Hofitol - pills for edema for pregnant women help the liver fight harmful substances that destroy blood vessels. The main component is the leaves of the field artichoke, which help to reduce the level of urea and improve blood circulation.
  3. Eufillin - improves renal blood flow, which leads to increased removal of fluid from the body, has a pronounced diuretic effect. It is forbidden to take on an empty stomach, so as not to provoke violations of the gastrointestinal tract.
  4. Kanefron is a herbal preparation containing rosemary leaves, centaury and lovage root. Stimulates the functioning of the kidneys, providing a diuretic effect.
  5. Magnesia is a popular medicine that has proven itself from the best side. It is effectively used in the last stages in the form of a dropper from edema, with preeclampsia or with the threat of premature birth. Reviews of the injection indicate that the drug is quite painful, there is a burning sensation after the injection of the drug into the muscle. The magnesium dropper is not used if the woman has persistent low blood pressure.
  6. Orthosiphon during pregnancy from edema in the form of kidney tea successfully fights both hidden accumulations of water and obvious ones. It has a pronounced diuretic and choleretic effect, while not harming the developing fetus.
There are drugs, the instructions of which indicate that it is forbidden to use during pregnancy. Among them, triampur and cystone can be distinguished. The situation is associated with the ambiguous effect of the components on the body of the expectant mother and child. Such diuretics are prescribed if the harm from the pathology exceeds the threat of side effects.

Troxevasin is prescribed if there is a risk of developing blood clots or varicose veins. Lyoton gel is also used to prevent thrombosis and as a decongestant. The swelling ointment contains heparin, which is known to thin the blood.

Folk remedies and herbs for edema during pregnancy

Most often, if edematous reactions are caused by physiological aspects, folk remedies are prescribed. A salt-free diet is used, since sodium chloride retains fluid in the tissues. Cowberry or cranberry fruit drinks will help remove swelling, which not only have a diuretic effect, but also enrich the cells with vitamins and microelements.

Cooking fruit drink is not particularly difficult. It is enough to grind the berries and squeeze out the juice. After that, pour the pulp with hot water and insist. As soon as everything cools down, add the remaining juice, take 2 times a day - in the morning and in the evening.

It is also very effective to treat edema with folk remedies using medicinal herbs:

  1. Dill seeds (1 tablespoon) are poured with boiling water (1 tablespoon) and set aside for an hour. Such a decoction removes excess fluid, saturates the body with useful substances.
  2. Birch leaves are used as an infusion, poured with boiling water and infused for about half an hour, in a ratio of 1:1. The decoction does not cause an adverse reaction from the urinary system.
  3. Bearberry leaves, brewed in the same way, are used for cystitis or kidney disease, have a clear diuretic effect.
Herbs for swelling during pregnancy can be mixed for greater effectiveness. Recipes can be very diverse, the main condition is to consult a doctor before using this or that decoction.

Products for edema during pregnancy

To reduce edematous reactions, doctors recommend sticking to a certain diet, which involves the exclusion of salt and fractional nutrition. The daily menu should consist of 5-7 meals, the main components of the dinner table should be vegetables and fruits.

Useful will be:

  • a decoction or infusion of dried apricots acts as a diuretic with a mild laxative effect, which is important when carrying a baby;
  • water with lemon or tea does an excellent job with edematous reactions and stimulates protective properties;
  • fruit drinks prepared on the basis of medicinal berries and fruits will become the main assistants in the fight against fluid accumulations.
When getting rid of puffiness, you should follow the doctor's recommendations so as not to aggravate the situation. Daily walks, moderate exercise are required. If accumulations of fluid are accompanied by varicose veins, then compression stockings for edema during pregnancy can be used, which are made of elastic fabric in order to put pressure on the vessels and evenly distribute water.

Pregnancy is a wonderful time for every girl, woman. But during this period, female representatives are highly vulnerable to various pathologies. One of the most common of them is swelling and as a result the question arises which diuretic to use during pregnancy.

Excess water accumulates in the body of the expectant mother due to excess sodium, which retains all the water in the body. All the fluid that is inside the cell goes outside and, as a result, swelling appears on the body of the pregnant woman. Diuretics will help get rid of edema. It should be noted that a diuretic during pregnancy should be selected by a doctor.

Diuretic during pregnancy from edema, is selected individually for each woman. This is due to the peculiarity of each organism and the amount of excess fluid, that is, the degree of pathology. The cause of pregnancy complications in the form of swelling can be:

  • insufficient intake of protein foods;
  • urinary tract diseases;
  • excessive salt intake;
  • immobility;
  • heart disease;
  • an increase in the uterus (the larger the fetus becomes, the larger the uterus becomes, it puts pressure on the vessels of the ureters, which leads to the accumulation of excess fluid);
  • gestosis (late toxicosis of pregnant women, which is accompanied by edema, increased blood pressure, etc.).

In all these cases, it is necessary to use a drug that has a diuretic effect.

Pharmacy preparations

There are many remedies for edema during pregnancy, however, diuretics must be selected very carefully. You should also take into account the possible side effects that can manifest themselves purely individually and affect the course of pregnancy, but do not bring a diuretic effect. The most popular diuretic drugs for pregnant women are:

  • Eufillin. The remedy is not prescribed during pregnancy in the first trimeter. Drug treatment during this period can cause a lack of oxygen in the fetus, which will lead to multiple complications. In the second and third trimester, the diuretic perfectly fights edema, while not threatening either the life of the mother or the life of the child and ensures a healthy pregnancy.

  • Phytolysin. The diuretic drug is available in the form of a paste or capsules. It contains only herbal ingredients. You should not prescribe this drug to yourself during pregnancy on your own, since plant extracts can cause severe allergic reactions and side effects, like synthetic drugs. Therefore, in order to preserve the health of the fetus, so as not to harm the child, only a doctor should prescribe Phytolysin.

  • Hofitol. A diuretic in most cases is prescribed for those who have swelling during pregnancy associated with liver disease. The main component of the remedy is the artichoke. The positive effect of this drug is that it eliminates the toxicosis of pregnant women. You can prescribe diuretics only after determining the cause of the edema.

  • Thiazide diuretics

    Thiazide diuretics are drugs that do not allow Na and Cl to be reabsorbed in the nephron tubules and this causes a diuretic effect. As a result, they do not enter the bloodstream and are excreted in the urine.

    But, it is worth considering that these diuretics cannot be used during pregnancy in the 1st trimester, in the 2nd, 3rd - according to the doctor's indications.

    The most popular drugs from the group of thiazide diuretics are:

    • Pamid;
    • Tenzar;
    • Hydrochlorothiazide;
    • Arifon;
    • Indapamide;

    Thiazide drugs are quickly absorbed into the blood and begin to act after 1-2 hours, showing their diuretic effect.
    In pregnancy, the safest of the drugs in this group, according to experts, is Hypothiazid.

    These diuretic tablets can be drunk while carrying a child, however, you need to consider what risks the active ingredients of the drug can bring. The fact is that hypothiazide, like all drugs of this group, pass through the placental barrier, that is, it comes into direct contact with the fetus. Based on this, the newborn may develop jaundice, thrombocytopenia, etc.

    It should also be noted that thiazide diuretics increase calcium during pregnancy, which also causes many complications.

    So, the positive effects of the use of thiazide diuretics:

    • begin to act quickly (instant diuretic effect);
    • treat not only edema, but also arterial hypertension;
    • if the woman's pressure is normal, it does not affect it in any way.

    The negative side of thiazides:

    • pass through the placental barrier;
    • should not be used in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.

    Diuretics during pregnancy in the later stages are easier to pick up than in the early stages. However, you should always evaluate the risks, and make sure that the diuretic does more good than harm.

    Loop diuretics

    The diuretic effect of loop diuretics is due to a decrease in the absorption of Na and other equally important electrolytes into the blood. The most popular of them are Lasix, Furosemide. These diuretics are undesirable for pregnant women, as they have a huge number of side effects and also penetrate the placental barrier.

    You can drink loop diuretics from edema during pregnancy only in the 3rd trimester, which is explained by the harmfulness of drugs in this group.

    Another disadvantage of these medicines is that the components of the drug, along with the liquid, take a lot of useful trace elements from the expectant mother, which can adversely affect the development of the baby. Therefore, it is better to cancel the intake of this spectrum of drugs during pregnancy, and if this cannot be avoided, then only under the strict supervision of a doctor.

    Potassium-sparing diuretics

    Potassium-sparing diuretics are drugs that prevent potassium from leaving the body excessively with excess fluid and, as a result, have a diuretic effect. It should be noted that the drugs in this group are divided into hormonal and non-hormonal.

    During pregnancy, only non-hormonal diuretics can be used. The most popular of them are Veroshpiron and Spironolactone.

    Spironolactone removes excess fluid from the body, as well as Na and Cl, but retains K, Mg, Ca. Despite the fact that the diuretic is relatively safe, it is advisable to use it in the 2nd or 3rd trimester.

    Veroshpiron during pregnancy from edema is used more often, this is due to the fact that the diuretic diuretic on the same active substance as Spironolactone, but has already been more improved.

    Osmotic diuretics

    Osmotic diuretics are a group of drugs that act quickly and have a pronounced diuretic effect due to their ability to increase plasma osmotic pressure. These diuretic drugs in the shortest possible time will save a woman in pregnancy from edema. But, we must not forget about the negative aspects of the drugs of the group, they can cause:

    • headache;
    • nausea, vomiting;
    • dizziness.

    The most famous osmotic diuretics are Mannitol, Potassium acetate, Amiloride. These diuretics are rarely prescribed for pregnant women, since they are able to remove a very large amount of fluid, which is not advisable for women in position.

    Extrarenal drugs

    Such drugs that have a diuretic effect are divided into 2 groups according to their mechanism of action: acid-forming (calcium chloride, ammonium chloride) and osmotic (urea). The first - convert cations, the second in the kidney increase the excretion of water and sodium with chlorine. But, for a pregnant woman, these drugs can do a lot of harm. Therefore, from extrarenal drugs, it is recommended to take only extracts from plants.

    The most effective are:

    • bearberry extract;
    • decoction of horsetail;
    • orthosiphon sheet.

    These drugs do not affect the functioning of the heart and kidneys, their use during pregnancy is safe, the drug is suitable for the treatment of small edema and has a mild diuretic effect. It is worth noting that extrarenal drugs can be used even in the presence of a kidney infection.

    Herbal preparations

    Natural diuretics and diuretics are the best choice for treating swelling during pregnancy. Their use has the smallest number of side effects and complications on the health of the baby. Therefore, during preeclampsia, there will be the following appointments from the doctor - in the form of taking herbal medicines.

    The safest of them, which have a good effect, are Kanefron, Eufillin and Fitolizin.

  1. Kanefron during pregnancy can be used even in the 1st trimester (this diuretic diuretic is completely safe).
  2. Eufillin should be used only after meals, otherwise complications from the gastrointestinal tract may begin in a pregnant woman.
  3. Phytolysin is a remedy that consists only of natural plant components. The main thing to remember is that the main enemy of the drug is alcohol. Phytolysin diuretic is absolutely incompatible with alcohol (even with a very small amount) and when they are used together, serious complications and a pronounced diuretic effect can develop.

Prohibited drugs during pregnancy

There are such drugs that absolutely cannot be used during pregnancy, since their appointment and intake are dangerous for the health of the mother and child. These drugs include:

  • Triamterene (a diuretic negatively affects the functioning of the fetal cardiovascular system and, with arterial hypertension, can lead to an even greater increase in pressure);
  • Diacarb (has a small diuretic effect, but affects the nervous system);
  • Diuver (a remedy that removes many useful trace elements from a woman's body and negatively affects the functioning of the heart and kidneys).

Folk remedies for edema during pregnancy

Edema during pregnancy can also be treated with folk remedies. There are many products and herbs, having prepared from which a diuretic infusion, a decoction - you can alleviate the condition of the pregnant woman and get rid of edema.
But, diuretic herbs during pregnancy are best used after consultation with the doctor, because some plants have a pronounced effect, which may not alleviate, but worsen the condition of the pregnant woman.

Juices

To independently prepare a diuretic during pregnancy, you need to know what products it can be made from. To relieve swelling, a woman is recommended to drink 2 glasses a day of juice from:

  • lingonberry berries;
  • cranberry berries;
  • blackberries;
  • viburnum, strawberries;
  • tomatoes.

The main thing is that the diuretic juice should not be store-bought (this will not help, since it does not contain useful trace elements and vitamins), but actually cooked.

Vegetables and fruits

Using a diet and diuretic foods for edema during pregnancy, you can get rid of them. To do this, you need to know what vegetables and fruits should be consumed by pregnant women.

From the accumulation of excess fluid and disturbance of water and electrolyte balance, diuretic products will help:

  • carrot;
  • potato;
  • cucumber;
  • strawberry;
  • strawberries.

It is only desirable to consume all of the above foods without excess salt.

To prevent the appearance of edema, in addition to a healthy lifestyle, you must follow some more rules:

  • eat enough protein foods;
  • reduce salt intake;
  • walk more (do not lead a sedentary lifestyle);

They are very dangerous for the fetus and mother's health, and are unpleasant. Diuretics help fight obvious swelling. Of course, you need to go for a consultation before using them. I hope you know this.

Diuretics or diuretics can be natural or synthetic. Natural - these are fruits, berries and herbs, synthetic - drugs. These medicines reduce the amount of fluid in the body and promote the excretion of urine. Why do they do it? In order to get past some unpleasant complications during pregnancy, for example. It causes swelling. Also, edema speaks of heart disease or kidney disease. And this should not be ignored during pregnancy. Visually it is difficult to determine swelling. But if a woman's weight increases dramatically, then they can be suspected.

Diuretic drugs that are strictly forbidden to take during pregnancy

During pregnancy, the following drugs are contraindicated:

  • Hypothiazide - because of it, vision and hearing deteriorate, gastric upset occurs, liver function is disrupted, cholesterol and glucose levels rise in the blood, thrombophlebitis develops, and blood pressure drops.
  • Furosemide or Lasix increases the excretion of potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, bicarbonates, blocks the absorption of sodium in the kidney. In the first half of pregnancy can not be used, in the second - if necessary, and then, in small quantities.
  • Dichlothiazide or Hypothiazide causes dizziness, weakness, allergies, and it also retains calcium in the body. In the first half of pregnancy it is strictly forbidden, then, only by a cardiologist or therapist is attributed if there is a strong need.
  • Diuretic drugs that can be used in extreme cases and under specific conditions.
  • Theobromine - develops in the fetus.
  • Triamterene, lasilactone, aquaphor, ethacrynic acid, viskaldix.

Hypothiazide and Furosemide cause thrombocytopenia in a baby, the appearance of jaundice, impaired kidney function, and hearing loss.

  • Triamterene, bumetanide, spironolactone, diacarb, theophylline, clopamid, oxodoline, cyclomethiazide - it is strictly forbidden to use in the first trimester of pregnancy. On the second and third, some factors must be taken into account: the degree of edema, the condition of the woman. Then the doctor compares all the risks from the disease if the drug is not used and from taking a diuretic.

What drugs are allowed during pregnancy

These are the drugs that are made from plants. This:

  • - it has a diuretic effect. It is forbidden to use it on an empty stomach, because dizziness, headache may occur. With epilepsy, heart disease, low blood pressure - it should not be used.
  • (the composition includes: orange, pine, sage, mint oil. As well as highlander herbs, birch leaves, horsetail herbs, parsley root). Women in position can be consumed if there is no inflammatory process.
  • (rosemary leaves, lovage root, centaury herb). It has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiseptic and diuretic effects. At the stage of pregnancy, the use is not prohibited. You can buy in the form of dragees or drops. Women in position need to use pills, because alcohol is present in drops.

Herbal origin of diuretics

It will be good if a woman “removes” edema without the help of medicines and medicinal herbs. For some women, a low-salt diet comes to the rescue. Its essence is to use salt in minimal quantities or not at all. Also helps bar or. To prepare a drink, you need to grind the berries with sugar and pour water. Then use it three times a day, one glass each. also used, but remember that it cannot be used in large quantities.

During pregnancy, herbs that have diuretic effects are not contraindicated, these are: buds and birch leaves, horsetail, bear ears, orthosiphon leaves.

However, there are also forbidden ones, these are parsley root, juniper fruits and strawberries.

Many doctors say that during pregnancy, diuretic tea should not be drunk, because it removes water, micro and macro elements, calcium, and potassium from the body. Also, tea acid balance changes. However, if a woman complained about her kidneys before pregnancy, then during gestation the situation worsens, then kidney tea is attributed to her.

Do not forget that each drug is prescribed individually, so you need to consult a doctor.

Any woman during gestation understands that the most important thing is to endure and give birth to a healthy child. Getting sick during pregnancy is unacceptable and dangerous. But it is not possible to avoid the disease, especially such a phenomenon as edema, which is very common during this period of every woman's life.

Edema is dangerous for women and children. Edema becomes noticeable in the third trimester, and then they must be disposed of with the help of diuretics. Prescribing diuretics on your own is very stupid and dangerous, so remember that self-medication is not the thing that will make you healthier. Every step during pregnancy, coordinate with your doctor. Don't forget this!

Diuretic drugs are divided into synthetic and natural. Natural preparations include fruits, berries and herbs. Synthetic drugs are medicines. What is their use? They remove urine from the body and reduce the amount of fluid in the tissue. This is very important during pregnancy, because it helps to avoid preeclampsia, which manifests itself primarily in edema. Edema clearly indicates that a person has problems with the heart or kidneys. Edema is not always visible. Then you should pay attention to the pace at which its weight is increasing.

There are diuretics that should not be taken during pregnancy. These include drugs that have a diuretic effect, but they are used only in emergency cases. Lazilactone, Viskaldix, Triamterene, Aquaphor, Theobromine. Hypothiazide helps to delay the excretion of calcium from the body, causes allergies, dizziness and weakness. Do not take during the first stage of pregnancy. Hypothiazide causes a decrease in blood pressure, an increase in cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood, the development of thrombophlebitis, deterioration in vision and hearing, and the functioning of the liver and gastrointestinal tract. In the early stages of pregnancy, it is strictly forbidden to take, and in the future, if there is an urgent need. Lasix increases the excretion of phosphates, potassium, magnesium, bicarbonates and calcium, blocks the absorption of sodium in the kidney. At an early stage it is forbidden, later - if necessary. Furosemide and hypothiazide contribute to the occurrence of jaundice, impaired renal function, and thrombocytopenia in an infant.

It is strictly forbidden to take such drugs in the first trimester: Triamteren, Cyclomethiazide, Theophylline, Oxodoline, Bumetanide, Diacarb, Clopamid and Spironolactone. In subsequent trimesters, their use depends on various factors: the degree of edema, the general condition of the woman, the reasons that caused the edema.

Preparations that can be used by pregnant women: those that are made on the basis of plants. Kanefron, which includes rosemary leaves, centaury herb and lovage root. This drug has a diuretic, antispasmodic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect. It can be taken at all stages of pregnancy. It is produced in the form of tablets and drops. For pregnant women, it is best to take the tablets as the drops contain alcohol.

Phytolysin contains many herbs: wheatgrass rhizomes, birch leaves, parsley root extracts, pine, sage, orange oils, horsetail herbs. You can take it, but if the woman is sure that there is no acute inflammatory process in her kidneys. Eufillin should not be taken on an empty stomach, because dizziness, headache, and intestinal dysfunction may occur. It is not taken for epilepsy, low blood pressure and heart disease.

Of course, it would be better if you can do without medication treatment. You can sit on a salt-free diet, which involves the exclusion of salt from the diet. Make a drink with lingonberries or cranberries. Berries should be ground with sugar, pour water at room temperature. This drink can be drunk three times a day in a glass. It is good to use lingonberry leaf, which is brewed, but remember that in large quantities it is harmful. You can brew such herbs: horsetail, leaves of orthosiphon stamens, bearberry leaves and birch leaves and buds. They are not harmful and can be taken for the entire period of gestation.

There are also forbidden herbs with a diuretic effect. These are parsley root, which causes uterine tone, juniper berries and strawberries, which contribute to uterine contractions.

Diuretic tea should not be taken during pregnancy. It disrupts water-salt metabolism, removes calcium, potassium and other micro- and macroelements. Diuretic teas contribute to the violation of the acid-base balance. If a woman had kidney problems before pregnancy, then she is prescribed kidney teas. However, the use of any drug is made on a case-by-case basis.

You must not rely on yourself. In a matter related to the health of your child, it is important not to self-medicate and self-diagnose your own diseases. For this, there are specialists who know what is better for you to take, and what you should categorically fear. Listen to them, because you are responsible for the health and life of your own child. For every woman there is only one goal - to give birth to a healthy baby. To do this, you need to eat right, and rest more, walk in the fresh air. It is also necessary to take medicines wisely, without abusing them. Ideally, they should not be used at all, but this is more like a utopia, so choose those drugs that will not lead to negative consequences. The advice of mothers and grandmothers is useful, but they do not know everything due to the fact that they are not doctors. First of all, consult a doctor for whom the treatment of diseases is a direct duty and profession.

Edema. Every third woman who is expecting the birth of her baby is faced with them. This condition is not only unpleasant, but also dangerous to the health of both the mother and the unborn child. As soon as they become obvious (and for most pregnant women this happens in the third trimester), you have to fight them with diuretics. Of course, they cannot be used arbitrarily without consulting a doctor. We hope you not only know this rule, but also use it in your daily pregnant life.

Diuretics, or, as they are also called, diuretics, are synthetic and natural. The former include drugs, the latter - herbs and fruit-berries. All of them contribute to the excretion of urine from the body and a decrease in the fluid content in the tissue. What is it for? At least in order to avoid some complications of pregnancy, as, say, the signs of which are precisely the appearance of edema. Moreover, edema (especially of the face) may indicate kidney disease or heart disease, which during pregnancy should in no case be ignored. Sometimes edema is difficult to detect visually, but they can be suspected if the weight of a pregnant woman increases at a rapid pace.

Diuretics that pregnant women should not take under any circumstances

Drugs that are contraindicated for use during pregnancy include the following:

  • Viskaldix, Ethacrynic acid, Aquaphor (Xipamide), Lazilactone, Triamterene.
  • Theobromine - can cause tachycardia in the fetus.
  • Medicines that have a diuretic effect, which can be taken under certain conditions and in extreme cases
  • Dichlothiazide (Hypothiazide) - retains calcium in the body, causes allergic reactions, general weakness, dizziness. During pregnancy (in the first half it is generally prohibited) is prescribed in very extreme cases, and then only by a therapist or cardiologist.
  • Furosemide (Lasix) blocks the reabsorption of sodium in the kidney, increases the excretion of bicarbonates, phosphates, calcium, magnesium and potassium. It is forbidden to use in the first half of pregnancy, and in the second - in case of emergency and for a short time.
  • Hypothiazide - can cause a drop in blood pressure, the development of thrombophlebitis, an increase in the level of glucose and cholesterol in the blood, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal disorders, temporary deterioration in hearing and vision, weakness, blood disorders. In the first 4.5 months, the drug should not be taken, then - according to strict indications (only in a hospital).

Both Furosemide and Hypothiazide can cause hearing loss, impaired kidney function, jaundice, and thrombocytopenia in a child.

  • Cyclomethiazide, Oxodoline, Clopamid, Theophylline, Diakarb, Spironolactone, Bumetanide (Bufenoks), Triamteren (Pterofen) - in no case are prescribed in the first trimester of pregnancy. As for the intake in the second and third trimesters, before prescribing one of the listed drugs, the doctor takes into account many factors: the general condition of the pregnant woman, the degree of edema, and the reasons that caused them. The doctor also compares the possible risk from taking a diuretic drug and from the disease if the drug is not prescribed.

Drugs approved for use in pregnant women

This group includes medicinal preparations made on the basis of plants. For example, this:

  • Kanefron (composition: centaury grass, lovage root, rosemary leaves) has not only a diuretic, but also an antiseptic, antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect. Approved for admission at any stage of bearing a baby. Available in the form of drops and dragees. It is the tablet form that is recommended for pregnant women, since the drops contain alcohol.
  • Phytolysin (composition: extracts of parsley root, couch grass rhizomes, horsetail grass, birch leaves, highlander herb, mint, sage, pine, orange oils). Pregnant women can take it, but you need to be sure that they do not have an acute inflammatory process in their kidneys.
  • Eufillin has a diuretic effect. You should not take it on an empty stomach, as there is a risk of intestinal disorders, the appearance,. The drug should not be taken with low blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy.

Diuretics of plant origin

It is best if, faced with edema, a woman can cope with them without the use of medicines or even medicinal herbs. Many pregnant women are helped by a salt-free diet, in which salt intake is either completely eliminated or minimized. A very healthy and tasty drink made from or lingonberries can also help. To do this, the berries need to be ground with sugar and pour water at room temperature. You need to take such a fruit drink 3 times a day for half a glass-glass. You can also use it (it needs to be brewed), but do not forget about the measure, because in large quantities such a decoction can only do harm.

The list of allowed herbs that have a diuretic effect and are not contraindicated during pregnancy include: leaves of the orthosiphon staminate, bear ears (bearberry leaf), horsetail, birch leaves and buds.

But! Remember that along with the permitted ones, there are also prohibited diuretic plants, which for people who are in their normal, that is, non-pregnant, state, do an excellent job. These include strawberries, juniper fruits (causes uterine contractions), parsley root (leads to).

Most experts are of the opinion that diuretic tea during pregnancy is contraindicated, since it disrupts the water-salt metabolism in the body, removes not only water from it, but also potassium, calcium, and other micro and macro elements. In addition, the intake of such teas changes the acid-base balance. However, if a woman had kidney problems before pregnancy, and while waiting for the baby, the condition worsened, she is often prescribed.

We remind you that the use of a particular drug is prescribed based on each specific case. And this should only be done by a competent specialist whom you trust.
