Boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers

Puff pastry boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers are a wonderful dish. It is a full dinner, including a meat dish, a side dish, an appetizer and even bread. The boats look very colorful, reminiscent of a large dumpling with a side dish peeking out of it. The taste is simply perfect - the classic combination of mashed potatoes with meat will not leave any gourmet indifferent. And pickled cucumbers will only emphasize the taste of the dish. When serving, I recommend sprinkling the boats with herbs. The specified amount of ingredients makes 4-8 servings.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes – 1 kg
  • pork – 400 g
  • onion – 1 pc. (large size)
  • barrel pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs. (small size)
  • puff pastry – 400 g egg
  • chicken – 1 pc.
  • hard cheese – 50 g

Cooking method:

  1. Peel the potatoes, boil and prepare mashed potatoes in your usual way. I prepared it in advance.
  2. Finely chop the pork into pieces. Peel the onion and cut into half rings, then fry in a heated frying pan until tender.
  3. I usually do this: fry the meat over high heat, stirring for about 5 minutes, then add the onion, stir, reduce the gas and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes.
  4. Then open the lid and simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat until the juice has evaporated slightly. The meat is ready. This time I had goulash prepared according to this recipe in the refrigerator.
  5. We cut the cucumbers into rings or half rings, if large. It is advisable to use salted or barrel ones. If you wish, you can add more cucumbers than indicated in the recipe, this will only make the dish tastier. Grate the hard cheese onto a fine grater.
  6. Thaw the finished puff pastry and divide it into 4 parts. My dough initially consisted of 4 pieces. Depending on the size of the boat you want to make, you can divide each part in half again. I prepared 4 palm-sized boats.
  7. Next, roll out each piece of dough into a rectangle, tripling its original size. The edges of the rolled out rectangle should be slightly thinner than the middle. We make equal longitudinal cuts on the sides.
  8. Place two tablespoons of prepared puree in the center of each boat, on top of it - a layer of meat and slices of cucumbers.
  9. Then we wrap each side in turn so that the cut is in the center. Like this.
  10. We give our product a boat shape and carefully pinch the sides. If in some places it turns out that there is too much dough, then simply carefully remove the excess.
  11. Prepare the egg mixture and brush the boats with it. Then place them on a baking sheet so that the boats do not touch each other. To do this, I placed them one by one on the sides with foil.
  12. Sprinkle the cut of the boats with grated cheese and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for approximately 25 minutes or until the boats are browned on all sides.

After going through a lot of information on the World Wide Web, I came across an amazing recipe for puff pastry boats. It was decided that the next dish for dinner would be exactly like this! By the way, I managed to surprise my husband. Pamper your loved ones with this unique dish!

Puff boats - open pies

In these delicious puff pastries with mushrooms, I like the original way of rolling - giving the pastry a boat shape. To make boat pies, you can use any puff pastry; I made it from store-bought ones. For dough boats, various juicy or fatty fillings are suitable that will not dry out during baking.

Ingredients:

  • Ready puff pastry (yeast or yeast-free) – 500 g;
  • Mushrooms (champignons, oyster mushrooms) – 300 g;
  • Onions – 1-2 heads;
  • Parsley or other greens - a bunch;
  • Vegetable oil for frying;
  • Spices optional: basil, pepper;
  • Salt;
  • Sour cream – 2 tablespoons;
  • Starch or flour – 1 tablespoon + 1/4 cup cool water;
  • Hard cheese – 50-80 g.
  • Egg for brushing the tops of puff pastries

Cooking method:

  1. Cut the mushrooms into small pieces. Onion - thin half rings. Fry the onion in hot oil for 2 minutes, then add the mushrooms. Fry for 7-10 minutes until done. Sprinkle mushrooms with spices and salt to taste. Add herbs, sour cream and starch diluted in water. Read more:
  2. Mix well. Wait for the starch to brew (the mushroom mixture thickens), this will take 1-2 minutes. Turn off the heat and cool. Let's prepare the mushroom filling! Separately, grate the cheese on a coarse grater. This is what the mushroom filling in the finished puff pastries will look like! How to make dough boats Defrost the dough according to the instructions on the package (usually this takes about 20 minutes).
  3. Cut the dough sheets into squares. (I had 2 layers in the package, each cut into 9 squares). Roll out each square to a size of 15x15 (match the size of the large cup or bowl you will be cutting with).
  4. Use a large cup to cut out a circle. Then take a smaller cup and cut out a circle inside the larger one, but be sure to leave untouched (uncut) sections of 1 cm each at the bottom and top (the junction of the inner circle with the rim, otherwise the rim will fall off). First, we cut out a large circle, then, inside it, a small one, leaving small joints, from which small curls are then formed. We put the left side of the rim to the right, and we thread the right side under the left. Or vice versa, if you are right-handed))) Then perform this trick: take the headbands on the right and left and thread them into each other.
  5. With this infinity sign, the rims threaded into each other are intertwined. The crossed rims of the dough form the sides on the inner circle of the dough. This is how you get a dough boat. Lay out the intertwined rims on the edges of the inner circle. Assembling pies - boats. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. If there is none, grease the baking sheet with oil or dust it with flour.
  6. Place empty blanks - boats on a baking sheet. You can transfer already filled pies to a baking sheet if you are confident in manual dexterity. Place a mound of filling. Place 2 teaspoons of filling between the sides of each pie. Add some cheese on top. Boats on a baking sheet Grease the dough with a cloth or brush dipped in a mixture of beaten egg and 1 tablespoon of cool water. Bake the boats with filling at a temperature of 220 degrees C until the dough is browned.

Puff pastry boats will serve as a complete dish, including a side dish, meat and vegetables. It will take some time to cook, but these boats should be cooked at least once.

Bon appetit!

Stuffed puff pastry boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers are a simple and at the same time almost festive dish. In fact, this is the second one, baked in delicious puff pastry. Hidden inside the boat are fried pork, mashed potatoes and pickles. The whole thing is sprinkled with cheese on top, which forms a very appetizing crust when baked. This dish will definitely please your loved ones. It can also be served at the holiday table. Unconventional and very tasty!

– 400 gr. puff pastry (I used yeast),

– 0.5 kg of potatoes,

– 400 gr. pork pulp,

– 1 large onion,

– 3 or 4 salted or pickled cucumbers (small),

– 50 gr. hard cheese,

Boil the potatoes and prepare mashed potatoes. Those who prefer “tastier” dishes crush potatoes with butter and milk. Fans of more dietary products make mashed potatoes with the remaining water in which the potatoes were boiled.

Cut the meat into small cubes. Chop the onion. Heat a frying pan with oil, pour in the meat, and fry for about five minutes. Add the onion, stir everything, turn down the heat. Simmer for 10 minutes with a lid on the pan. Then set the heat to medium on the stove, open the pan and fry without a lid for about five minutes. We need the liquid released by the meat and onions to evaporate from the meat.

Cut the pickled cucumbers into pieces. Grate the cheese.

Place potatoes, pork and cucumbers on the flatbread.

First we cover one edge, then the other. We do this so that there is a good hole in the middle, into which the filling looks appetizing.

We mold the dough around the edges. The result is a figure similar to a boat or an open pie.

Break and scramble the egg. Cover the “boats” with a thin layer of egg.

Preheat the oven to 180 C and place the dish in the oven. Bake until golden brown. This usually takes about 25 minutes.

Place on a plate and decorate.

Puff pastry boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers are, in fact, delicious pies with a combined filling of fried meat, mashed potatoes, pickled gherkins and cheese.
If you have some boiled potatoes left, a piece of fried meat or ham, and, of course, ready-made puff pastry in the freezer, then making pies will not be difficult. This dish will become one of your favorites among many.
It will take 45 minutes to prepare. These ingredients will make 8 servings.

Ingredients:

- puff pastry – 450 g;
- beef or pork – 200 g;
- onions – 50 g;
- potatoes – 200 g;
- pickled gherkins – 30 g;
- hard cheese – 30 g;
- egg – 1 pc.;
- ground paprika – 5 g;
- milk, butter, frying oil.

Recipe with photos step by step:

Let's make the filling. Beef or pork pulp, cut across the grain into thin strips. Finely chop the onion head.

Fry the meat with onions until cooked. Fry in a frying pan in refined vegetable oil, at the end add ground red paprika and salt to taste.

Peel the potatoes, cut them finely, and cook until tender. Knead, add butter, a little milk and salt.

Once the filling has cooled, you can make the boats.
Cut the dough sheets into rectangles or squares. Side length is approximately 15 centimeters.

We retreat 1.5 centimeters from the edge and use a sharp knife to make slits, as shown in the photo.

Place 2-3 teaspoons of mashed potatoes in the center of the rectangle.

Place the fried meat on the potatoes. Don't add too much filling, it will be difficult to make the pies.

Next, add the gherkins cut into thin slices.

Cut hard cheese into cubes. Place on top of the cucumbers.

Lift the edge of the dough, transfer it to the opposite side, the filling should be inside the slot. We lay the second edge in the same way, connect the edges, press with a fork.

Separate the yolk from the white. Brush the boats with egg yolk.

We heat the oven to a temperature of 210 degrees Celsius. Cook the pies for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Serve warm.

Bon appetit!
They are also very easy to prepare, but they turn out spectacular and tasty.

Puff pastry boats with potatoes, meat and cucumbers.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 1 kg.
  • meat (any!!!) - 400 gr.
  • onion - 1 large
  • pickled cucumbers - 3-4 pcs (small)
  • puff pastry - 500 g (I had ready-made yeast dough, cut into squares...)
  • egg - 1 pc. (grease the boats)
  • hard cheese - 50 g (for sprinkling boats, but you can do without it)

Preparation:

Boil the potatoes and make mashed potatoes, the same as you usually do for the family.

Cut the meat into pieces (I have pork, shoulder part, not lean). Cut the onion into half rings and fry everything as follows... meat over high heat, stirring for 3 minutes, then add the onion, stir, reduce the gas and simmer under the lid for another 10 minutes... then open the lid and lightly evaporate the juice over medium heat for another 4 minutes. turn it off!

Cut the cucumbers into half rings or strips (if large). Only pickled or barrel cucumbers (pickled, store-bought cucumbers smell very strongly of vinegar..), if you have more cucumbers, add them, you won’t regret it!

We divide the defrosted dough into 4 parts (each layer, I had 2 of them, it turned out to be 8 boats), roll it out, the resulting rectangle is three times larger than ours. The edges of the rolled out dough are slightly thinner than the middle.

Place two or three tablespoons (heaped) of the prepared puree in the center... fried meat and chopped cucumbers in the center. We make longitudinal cuts on the sides.

Now we wrap each side in turn, so that the cut is in the center. We give our product a boat shape and pinch the sides.

Place on a baking sheet, I have little space on the pan and lined each boat with baking paper. grease the boats with beaten chicken egg, you can pour a little inside, and lightly cover the center with grated cheese.

Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees... let it brown, since all the ingredients are already ready, 25 minutes will be enough.
