Love for Allah - islamru. What are the signs that Allah loves a person

Merciful,

Merciful.

We praise Allah, turn to Him for help, ask for forgiveness and repent before Him, resort to His protection from the evil of our souls and from the filth of our deeds. The one whom Allah leads to the straight path, no one will lead astray, and the one whom Allah leads astray, no one will guide him to the straight path.

We testifythat there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and we testify that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, may Allah bless him, as well as his family, all his companions and all who followed in his footsteps until the Day of Judgment.

Dear brothers and sisters, in this short article I would like to talk about ten things with which we can fill our hearts with love for Allah, He is Holy and Great and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him). The article is based on the work of the great scientist Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him).

We all know that all our actions are based on such a feeling as love. Wherever we look, we can notice the manifestation of this everywhere. An endless number of examples can be given. Here are the most common of them: the love of a mother for her child, a wife for her husband, etc. Every person fills his heart with love for something: be it cars, money, women or any other value. So who is worthy of the highest degree of love, if not Allah and His Messenger!? Love for Allah and His Messenger is the greatest step of Faith. That's why divine With love we can only love Allah, He is Holy and Great.

Allah says this in the Qur'an:

Among people there are those who associate equals with Allah and love them just as they love Allah. But those who believe love Allah more. If only the wrongdoers would see, when they see the torment, that power belongs entirely to Allah and that Allah inflicts severe torment.

(Quran, 2:165)

So how and with what should you achieve this love? We will try to briefly explain this in this article.

1. Reading and meditation on the verses of the Quran

Allah Almighty says in the Quran:

كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُوا الْأَلْبَابِ

This is the blessed Scripture which We have sent down to you so that they may meditate on its verses and so that those with understanding may remember the lesson.

(Quran, 38:29)

Many people nowadays focus on the blessings of the Quran: they kiss it, decorate it, place it in high places, but this is not the purpose of sending the Quran, but the purpose is: “ so that they meditate on its verses and so that those who have understanding remember the edification" From this verse it becomes clear to us why the Quran was revealed to us.

Companion Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

Undoubtedly, a person needs the Qur'an because it contains everything that a person needs. What Allah says in the Quran:

قُلۡ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هُدً۬ى وَشِفَآءٌ۬‌ۖ

Say: “He is guidance and healing for those who believe.

(Quran 41:44)

Thus, it contains:

1. Guidance(هُدً۬ى) (encompassing all aspects of life and necessary for every person)

2. Healing (شِفَآءٌ) (both mental, leading a person to balance, and physical)

We send down in the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.

(Quran, 17:82)

Based on the above verses, we must be guided by the Quran. But not all people think about the Koran. What Allah also says in His Book:

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ أَمۡ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقۡفَالُهَآ

Don't they reflect on the Koran? Or are there locks on their hearts?

(Quran, 47:24)

This verse illustrates to us that Allah wants to encourage us to reflect on the Quran and wants to say that He does not put locks on our hearts unless we do it ourselves.

The Quran contains a huge amount of wisdom that cannot be counted, so we cannot dwell in detail on each of them in our article. The peculiarity of the Koran is that it is distinguished by its eloquence and deep meanings. An example of this is Surah Al-Asr, the three verses of which encompass the entire religion of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

The best among you is the one who studies the Qur'an and teaches it to others.

al-Bukhari No. 5027

This hadith is a huge incentive for us to study the Qur'an.

2. Compliance with additional instructions

In the Hadith Qudsi it is reported that Allah said: “The most beloved of all that My servant (does) in an effort to get closer to Me is for Me that which I have charged him with as a duty, and My servant will try to get closer to Me, doing more than is required (nafil), until I I will love him..."

There is great wisdom in following additional instructions:

Firstly, this is making amends for the mistakes that were made during the implementation of mandatory regulations. We are all human and we all make mistakes.

Secondly, this is a kind of warm-up. An example would be physical exercise. No athlete will give all his best without first warming up. So in our prayer, doing additional prayers will give our prayers a higher degree.

3. Remembering Allah

Remembrance of Allah is one of the highest degrees through which one can acquire the love of Allah. Allah says about believers in the Quran:

ٱلَّذِينَ يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَـٰمً۬ا وَقُعُودً۬ا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ

Who remember Allah standing, sitting and on their sides...

(Quran, 3:191)

From this verse it becomes clear to us that Allah must be remembered in all positions, because there are only three of them and all of them are mentioned in the verse.

In a hadith narrated from Abdullah Ibn Busra, the Messenger of Allah said:

May your tongue never cease to be wet from the remembrance of Allah

Ahmad No. 188 and 190

In our lives we have many opportunities to remember Allah, whether in a queue, on a bus or in other places. But, unfortunately, many people prefer playing on the phone and other useless activities to this great cause.

Allah, speaking about believers, emphasized that they do not just remember Allah, but remember Allah a lot :

يَاأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا

O you who believe! Remember Allah many times

(Quran, 33:41)

...and remember Allah a lot - maybe you will succeed

(Quran, 62:10)

...but the remembrance of Allah is above...

(Quran, 29:45)

The purpose of all our actions, be it prayer, fasting, hajj, is to remember Allah.

In addition, I would like to cite a verse in which Allah speaks about those who do not remember Him and turn away from it.

And whoever turns away from My Reminder will face a hard life...

(Quran, 20:124)

U All people have desires, because this is the natural nature of man. But a person needs to control them and not follow their lead, although this sometimes becomes difficult for us. For example: a group of young people has gathered to watch a football match, there is additional time for a tense match... and then the azan is heard... of course, it is very difficult for young people to leave the room and go to prayer... and they have to fight their desires. And this is just one of the small examples.

And one day Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked: “Which fight is better?” To which he replied: "Fight with Your Soul"

One scientist divides the fight against desires into 3 categories:

Fight with yourself

...indeed, the soul of man commands evil, unless my Lord shows mercy to it.

(Quran, 12:53)

With this view, the scientist gives some advice on how to fight

a) remember the purpose of a person’s life

b) remember the dangers of following passion

c) remember the feelings that come after sin

d) look at examples of sinners around you

As an example of this type of struggle, one can cite a Muslim student who finds himself in a bad environment and is inclined to commit sins.

Fighting the desires of people around you

There are 2 points here:

1. refusal to follow people’s desires (find the strength not to follow the crowd)

2. desires of people to follow them (if a group of people sins, they will certainly want everyone to follow them)

Here wearing hijab is a great example. Firstly, you need to find it in yourself not to follow the majority, and secondly, it is the desire of people for a person to refuse to wear the hijab.

Fighting Satan

Allah says this in the Quran:

إِنَّ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنَ لَكُمۡ عَدُوٌّ۬ فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّاۚ إِنَّمَا يَدۡعُواْ حِزۡبَهُ ۥ لِيَكُونُواْ مِنۡ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

Verily, Satan is your enemy, and treat him as an enemy. He calls his party to become inhabitants of the Flame.

(Quran, 35:6)

We must treat the devil as an enemy - that means taking all the precautions we take when fighting an enemy. After all, he is constantly watching and looking for opportunities to hook us. Therefore we need to be vigilant towards it.

At the end of this point I would like to quote the following verses:

وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

And those who fight for Us, We will certainly lead them along Our paths. Indeed, Allah is with those who do good!

(Quran, 29:69)

Verily, the pious will find themselves in bliss. Indeed, sinners will end up in Hell.

(Quran, 82:14-15)

5. Understanding the names and attributes of Allah

There is no doubt that Allah sent down to us the knowledge of our names and attributes for a reason. Therefore we need to study His names and benefit from it.

Allah has the most beautiful names. Therefore call upon Him

through them

(Quran, 7:180)

There is no one like Him, and He is the Hearer, the Seeer.

(Quran, 42:12)

Allah tells us in his Book about his Names, for example, Hearing (السميع) - this means that Allah hears what we say - so we need to protect our tongue from everything bad. He says that He is Forgiving (الغفور) - this means that we do not need to lose hope and ask Him for forgiveness.

In our article we cannot dwell in detail on the interpretation of the names of Allah Almighty; you can supplement your knowledge on this topic by reading the relevant literature.

6. Contemplate the kindness of Allah

Allah is kind to His creatures and He shows them endless favors. And even if we try to count them, we will not be able to do this:

وَإِن تَعُدُّواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحۡصُوهَآ‌ۗ

(Quran, 16:18)

This indicates the boundlessness of His mercy, and we can see it everywhere:

وَفِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ۬ لِّلۡمُوقِنِينَ

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ‌ۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ

There are signs on earth for people of conviction, and also for yourselves. Can't you see?

(Quran, 51:20-21)

There are many signs in ourselves (humans), such as breathing, sight, hearing and others. Allah mentions them in the Quran:

قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَ‌ۖ قَلِيلاً۬ مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ

Say: “He is the One who created you and gave you hearing, sight and hearts. How little is your gratitude!

(Quran, 67:23)

Therefore, we must thank the Creator for all these mercies, and think about the fact that we were chosen by Him for these mercies, unlike other people who do not have them.

7. Fear of Allah

Fear of Allah is the next step to gaining the love of Allah.

This topic is vast, but I would like to touch on it at least a little.

The first quality that Allah mentioned when describing believers in Surah “The Believers” is humility.

Verily, the believers who are humble in their prayers have prospered

(Quran, 23:1-2)

And in the famous hadith of Jibril, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

Worship Allah as if you see Him, and even if you do not see Him, then truly He sees you.

Muslim, No. 8

Based on this, believers need to improve their worship by cleansing the heart from everything unnecessary, understanding the verses while reading them and understanding the greatness of the One to whom this worship is dedicated.

8. Night prayer

They lift their sides from their beds, calling upon their Lord with fear and hope

(Quran, 32:16)

Night prayer is another step in acquiring the love of Allah.

This is the mercy of Allah and an opportunity for believers to purify their hearts and ask Allah for something, because He is the Giver. The peculiarity of night prayer is that a person can fully concentrate without thinking about extraneous things. In the same way, a person gets rid of the danger of falling into show, remaining alone with his Lord.

9. Love for righteous people

Love for people motivates us to want to be close to them or follow them. Therefore, if a person wants to achieve a good result, then he needs to follow a good example. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) mentioned this to us.

It is reported from the words of Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

Verily, a righteous companion and an evil (comrade) are like a seller of musk and (a man) blowing the bellows of a blacksmith. As for the seller of musk, he (can) either give you (something from his goods), or you will buy something from him, or you will smell the aroma (emanating from) him. As for the blowing fur, it will either burn through your clothes, or you will smell the stench (emanating from) it.

al-Bukhari No. 5534, and Muslim No. 2628

And also: they report from the words of Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

A man on his friend's religion. Therefore, let any of you look at the one with whom you are friends.

Abu Dawood No. 4833,

Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi No. 2379

From the above hadiths it becomes clear to us how important a good environment and good examples are for a person. After all, man is a social creature - imitating certain examples.

This is an important feature that helps us understand the love of Allah.

A great example for us is the uncle of the Prophet - Abu Talib. He helped the prophet a lot, but never accepted Islam. The question arises: “Why?” Because he had a weak point and it was that he could not abandon the religion of his fathers. And even when he was lying dying and the prophet asked him to utter words of testimony, Abu Jahl, who saw this, said to Abu Talib: “Will you renounce the religion of your fathers?” Abu Talib, without uttering words of testimony, died in unbelief. This was his weak point.

Let's take a look at ourselves now! Surely each of us has weaknesses and we are well aware of them. Let’s do this so that there are no barriers between our hearts and Allah Almighty.

And in conclusion, I would like to quote a verse from Surah Al-Imran, which gives us an extremely clear answer to how we need to achieve the love of Allah:

قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ۬

Say: “If you love Allah, then follow me (the prophet), and then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.”

(Quran, 3:31)

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, peace and blessings to the Prophet Muhammad, as well as to his family and all his companions.

Your brother in Islam

Mahalla No. 1

Allah is the Lord of the worlds, all power and might belong to Him. Only Allah has the ability to command, rule and determine what is permitted and forbidden. He creates, gives life and bestows blessings, and He also takes life. He made man His vicegerent on earth and the ruler of the Universe, sent messengers to people and sent down scriptures to them. It was He who gave us such a blessing as Islam, illuminated us with the light of the Holy Quran and chose us, making us followers of the Ummah of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

The most important sign indicating the truthfulness of love for Allah is the observance of pure, untainted Monotheism. The call to worship Allah alone was the priority of all the prophets. Monotheism is the beginning of the road in Islam, it is the first step on the path to Allah (Great and Glorified is He). The Almighty said: Truly, conspiracies, amulets and love spells are polytheism

“Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah, for you have no other deity worthy of worship except Him. Will you not be afraid? (23.Al-Muminun: 23).

“We have not sent a single messenger before you who was not inspired: “There is no true deity except Me. Worship Me!” (21.Al-Anbiya: 25).

“I was ordered to fight the people until they testify that there is no true god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Monotheism is the first step by which a person enters Islam. But Monotheism should also be the last step by which a Muslim will leave this world. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
من كان آخر كلامه لا إله إلا الله دخل الجنة

“The one whose last word in this life is: “There is no true god but Allah” (La ilaha illa-LLah) will enter Paradise” (Ahmad and Abu Dawood).

Monotheism is the very first and the very last duty.

Love for Allah is the reliable connection of believers with their Lord, it is the testimony of the truthful and the main goal of the pious. Allah Almighty said:

“Among people there are those who associate equals with Allah and love them just as they love Allah. But those who believe love Allah more” (2. Al-Baqarah: 165).

These people equated their false deities with Allah, worshiping them along with Allah. They love them as one should love only Allah, but the believers are stronger in their love for Allah than the polytheists in their love for their deities.

Love for Allah has many degrees and provides a field for competition among believers. Diligent servants of Allah strive for this love, showing dedication and diligence. Those who worship their Lord find in love for Him rest and strength for the hearts, food for the soul and delight for the eyes.

Love for Allah is life, so one who is deprived of this wonderful feeling is essentially dead.

Love for Allah is light, the loss of which brings darkness.

Love for Allah is healing, without which hearts are affected by serious illnesses.

Love for Allah is a sweetness, without feeling which a person lives in sadness and sorrow.

Love for Allah is the spirit of faith and good deeds, and if it leaves, then all human affairs will be like a lifeless body without a soul.

Know, may Allah protect you, that love comes in several types. One of its types is “natural love,” such as the love of a hungry person for food or a thirsty person for drink. Another type is “compassionate love,” such as the love of parents for their children. The next type is “comradely love,” such as love between like-minded people, colleagues, travel companions, trading partners; this type can also include mutual love between friends and brothers.

As for love for Allah, it is special, and it is not appropriate to turn it to someone other than Allah - this is “deifying love.” It implies obligatory humility, exaltation, humility, obedience and worship. Only Allah is worthy of this type of love, and it cannot be dedicated to anyone other than Him. It is this love that polytheists share between Allah and their false deities, thereby equating creation with the Creator.

He who loves Allah loves everything that comes from Him: he loves prayer, zakat, hajj and all other laws of Islam. The one who loves Allah loves all His commands, even if he has to sacrifice his peace, because the loving servant of Allah is connected only with Him (Great and Glorious is He), fears only Him and in all matters and circumstances hopes only on Him, because Allah said:
وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ

“Trust in Allah, if you are believers” (5. Al-Maida: 23).

He who loves Allah worships only Him, purifying his worship from the filth of polytheism. The one who loves Allah swears only by Allah and no one else. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
من حلف بغير فقد كفر أو أشرك

“Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed an act of disbelief or polytheism” (At-Tirmidhi).

He who loves Allah does not swear by his fathers or mothers, or by the lives of prophets and messengers, or by angels, because all these are manifestations of minor polytheism, as Ibn Abbas and other companions said. If you ask some people who worship graves to swear by Allah, they will give you any oaths, no matter whether they are true or false. But if you ask them to swear by the name of their ustaz (the spiritual mentor of the Sufis), the sand of his grave or the life of the sheikh, then he will never do it falsely, and if he swears, he will tell the truth. This, undoubtedly, is already a great polytheism, because the reverence and fear of creation in the heart of this person has become greater than the fear of Allah. The polytheism committed by grave-worshipers today is much worse than the polytheism of the past, because the former polytheists, wanting to confirm their words with a serious oath, remembered the name of Allah, and not someone else. The Almighty said:

“In the name of Allah they (the pagans) took the greatest oaths that Allah would not raise the dead” (16. An-Nahl: 38).

He who loves Allah does not turn to the stars and planets, and does not associate any events in the world with them, such as rain or fertility. He who loves Allah does not tell fortunes by the heavenly bodies and does not see any omens in them, good or bad, because this contradicts Monotheism and trust in Allah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
الطيرة شرك، وما منا إلا ولكن الله يذهبه بالتوكل

“Superstition is polytheism, and each of us has something of this in our souls, but Allah removes it through trust in Him” (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi).

He who loves Allah does not visit sorcerers, fortune tellers, psychics, seers and shamans. The one who loves Allah does not believe a single word they say, because belief in their words contradicts Faith in Allah Almighty.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
من أتى كاهناً فصدقه بما يقول فقد كفر بما أنزل على محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم

“Whoever comes to a sorcerer and believes his words will show disbelief in relation to what was revealed to Muhammad” (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi).

He who loves Allah does not hang any amulets, amulets, talismans, strings, eyes, bags or spells on himself. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
إن الرقى والتمائم والتِّوَلة شرك

“Truly, conspiracies, amulets and sentences are polytheism” (Ahmad, ibn Majah, at-Tirmidhi).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called them polytheism because the pagans wanted to use them to avert from themselves what was prescribed by Allah. They wanted to protect themselves from troubles without turning to the protection of Allah, but only He can avert trouble and bring benefit.

I would also like to remind Muslims to be careful and not fall into subtle polytheism, about which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
ألا أخبركم بما هو أخوف عليكم من المسيح عندي؟

“Should I tell you about what I fear for you more than the Dajjal (Antichrist)?”

The Companions said: “Of course!” Then the prophet said:
الشرك الخفي؛ أن يقوم الرجل يعمل لمكان رجل

“This is subtle polytheism, when a person does some righteous deed in order to gain the respect of another person.”

Allah Almighty said:

“Therefore do not compare anyone with Allah while you know” (2. Al-Baqarah: 22).

A person should know that polytheism is the most terrible of all things prohibited by Allah. At the same time, Monotheism is the noblest and most righteous of all that Allah has commanded us. Therefore, the very first mission of all the prophets was a call for Monotheism and for people to stop committing polytheism. First of all, they taught that only Allah alone should be worshiped, and the very first prohibition that the prophets proclaimed was the prohibition of worshiping anyone other than Allah. If the Almighty in His Book mentions Monotheism in conjunction with some other command, then Monotheism is always mentioned first. If the Koran speaks of polytheism in conjunction with other sins, then polytheism is prohibited before all other types of disobedience. Polytheism is such a great sin that if a person dies without repenting of it, he will never be forgiven, and Hellfire will become his eternal abode. Allah Almighty said:

“Indeed, Allah does not forgive when partners are associated with Him, but He forgives all other (or less serious) sins to whom He wishes” (4. An-Nisa: 48).

One of the righteous predecessors said: “Allah does not forgive polytheism, and everything that is less than polytheism will appear before the judgment of Allah, and if He wills, He will punish, and if He wills, He will forgive.”

Dear brothers and sisters! Polytheism completely destroys righteous deeds, Allah Almighty said:
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

“It has already been instilled in you and your predecessors: “If you begin to associate with your companions, then your deeds will be in vain and you will certainly find yourself one of the losers” (39. Az-Zumar: 65).

Polytheism condemns a person to eternal stay in Hell. Allah said:

“Verily, whoever associates partners with Allah, He has forbidden Paradise. His refuge will be Hell” (5. Al-Maida: 72).

It was reported from Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
من لقي الله لا يشرك به شيئاً دخل الجنة، ومن لقيه يشرك به شيئاً دخل النار

“Whoever meets Allah without giving him any partners will enter Paradise, and whoever meets Him without giving him partners will enter Hell” (Muslim).

The best proof of the falsity of polytheism is that Allah challenged and proposed that false deities create at least one fly:

“Oh people! A parable is given, listen to it. Indeed, those whom you worship besides Allah will not create even a fly, even if they unite for it. If a fly takes something from them, they cannot take it away from it. Weak is the one who asks, and the one who is asked!” (22.Al-Hajj: 73).

Dear brothers and sisters, let us meditate on this example, which is addressed to all humanity, and whoever does not heed it is disobedient. How laconic, simple, accessible and beautiful this verse explains to us the falsity of polytheism. If all the idols and all those deities that are worshiped besides Allah gathered in one place and helped each other with everything they could, they would not be able to create even one small fly. Allah has revealed to us their weakness, and if a fly takes something from these idols, then neither they nor their followers will be able to return what was taken. Who could be more helpless than these gods and weaker than those who turn to them in prayers!?

O Muslims! Truly, the most honorable degree that a Muslim can achieve in this world is to be a worthy servant of Allah. First of all, this should be manifested in the heart, expressed in worship, obedience and love for Allah. This is the hallmark of believers who have responded to the call of their Lord.

A person cannot achieve perfection without being an obedient slave of Allah. One of the righteous predecessors said: “The perfection of creation lies in being faithful slaves of Allah, and the more a person confirms his slavery to Allah, the more the level of his perfection grows and its degree increases. Anyone who believes that the creation can somehow escape from the slavery and control of Allah, or believes that the escape from slavery to Allah is closer to perfection, is the most misguided and ignorant of people.”

The heart of man feels need and dependence on other creatures, unless he makes Allah his patron and the only object of his worship. The servant of Allah will not need anyone if he turns to his Lord for help only, trusts only in Him, rejoices in what Allah loves and is pleased with, experiences anger only for Allah, permits and prohibits only for His sake and only in accordance with His commands. The purer and sincere the religion that a person devotes to Allah, the more perfect will be the affirmation of devotion and slavery to the Almighty Lord, and, as a result, the stronger will be the independence of man from other creations, which means that the person will be far from polytheism and arrogance.

For a person to be a true slave of Allah, he must build his attitude towards God on two pillars: humility and love. Humility before Allah without love for Him will not benefit a person, and love without humble submission is a lie that a person can utter with his tongue, but which will not correspond to the truth.

Apart from the two mentioned pillars, the worship of Allah has two conditions, without which it will not be accepted from a person.

1) The first condition is sincerity and detachment from polytheism.

2) The second condition is the compliance of the worship performed with Sharia, which is based on the Koran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Allah Almighty said:

“Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the power, Who is capable of every thing, Who created death and life to test you and see whose deeds will be the best” (67. Al-Mulk: 1-2).

Regarding the words of Allah “... the best,” Fudail ibn Iyad (may Allah bestow his mercy on him) said: “That is, the most sincere and the most correct.” People asked him: “O Abu Ali! What deeds are the most sincere and most correct? He answered them: “If the deed is sincere, but wrong, then the deed will not be accepted. If the deed is correct but insincere, it will not be accepted. A sincere deed is one that is dedicated only to Allah, and a correct one is one that is done in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).”

A Muslim should strive to purify his religion and distance himself from polytheism. Allah said:

“Those who desire life in this world and its decorations, We will reward them in full for their actions in this world, and they will not be deprived.

They are the ones who will receive nothing but Fire in the Hereafter. Their efforts in this world are in vain, and their deeds are useless” (11.Hud: 15-16).

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “If a person performs righteous deeds, be it fasting, prayer or night prayer-tahajjud, seeking the benefits of this world, Allah will give him a “reward”, but he will lose everything that he did for the sake of this world, and he will be among the losers.”

Following Shariah law is an essential condition for the love of Allah to be correct. Allah said:

“Say: “If you really love Allah, then follow me, and then Allah will love you” (3.Alu Imran: 31).

One of the righteous predecessors said: “He who loves Allah must necessarily follow the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), believe in everything that he told us, obey him in everything that he ordered us, imitate him in deeds . If a person does this, it means he loves Allah, and Allah loves him.”

From the above verse it is obvious that if a person does not follow the path of the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then his love for Allah is empty words, and in this case such love will not help him in any way and will not bring the desired results.

We ask the Almighty to grant us all correct knowledge about His religion, righteous worship in accordance with the sunnah of His Messenger, so that each of us can gain the love of Allah in full

Only a very few righteous servants of Allah are awarded the love of Allah. If Allah loves you, do not ask about the benefits that you will achieve and the benefits that you acquire, it is enough for you to know that you are loved by Allah.

Allah's love has signs and causes (sources), which are the same as the key to the door.

The reasons (for achieving this love) include the following things:

1. Following the instructions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah says in His Book (meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad to the people): If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. accept the monotheism of Islam, follow the Quran and Sunnah), then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful” [Al-‘Imran 3:31].

2. Those who strive for the love of Allah perform many additional (nafil) acts of worship. Allah says (in Hadith Qudsi):

“And My servant will not cease to approach Me, doing voluntary (nafilya) deeds, until I love him.”
Additional worship includes additional prayers, fasting, almsgiving, reading the Koran, giving alms, and remembering Allah (dhikr).

3. Love for brothers when they visit each other, support each other both financially and morally, and give each other good advice for the sake of Allah. These qualities are mentioned in the hadith-qudsi, where the Almighty says:

“My love becomes obligatory on those who love each other for My sake, My love becomes obligatory on those who visit each other for My sake, My love becomes obligatory on those who help each other (financially), My love becomes obligatory on those who maintains relationships for My sake"(Ahmad, Ibn Hibban).

What should be understood by the words “two who visit each other for My sake”? This means that two believers visit each other for the sake of Allah, seeking to achieve His pleasure, love each other for His sake and help each other in worship for His sake.

4. Numerous trials in life are also signs of Allah’s love. Calamities and misfortunes are trials for a person, and this is a sign that Allah loves him. Trials for the soul are like medicines for the body: even if they are bitter, we still give them to those people we love for their own benefit, just as Allah sends us trials for our benefit.

The Hadith Qudsi says: “The greatest rewards come with great challenges. When Allah loves someone, He tests him, the one who accepts it with patience earns Allah's pleasure, and the one who complains deserves His wrath."(At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah).

The calamities that befall a believer in this life are better for him than the punishments that may befall him in the Hereafter. How could it be otherwise, because through troubles and misfortunes his sins are erased.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When Allah desires good for His slave, He speeds up his punishment in this world, and when He is angry with His slave, He delays his punishment until he (the slave) appears before Him with his sins on the Day of Resurrection.”(narrated by At-Tirmidhi).

Scientists have explained that the one who is protected from disasters and trials in this world is most likely a hypocrite, because Allah is withholding his punishment in this world in order to bring him with all his sins on the Day of Resurrection.

The great fruits of Allah's love for His servants are the following:

Allah mentions in the hadith qudsi the great virtues of those He loves:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“Anyone who shows enmity towards one who is devoted to Me, I will declare war. And the most beloved thing for Me, through which the servant approaches Me, is what I have assigned to him as a duty.

And My servant will not stop approaching Me, doing voluntary (nafilya) deeds, until I love him.” When I love him, I will become his hearing with which he hears, and I will become his sight with which he sees, and I will become his hand with which he strikes, and I will become his foot with which he walks. And if he asks Me, I will certainly give it to him, and if he asks Me for protection, then I will definitely protect him” (Reported by al-Bukhari).

This hadith includes a number of promises from Allah to His servant:

1) “I will be his ear with which he hears” - that is, he will not listen to anything except what Allah loves.

2). “I will be the hand with which he strikes” - that is, he will not do anything that Allah does not love.

3) “I will be his foot with which he steps” - he will not walk in the direction of what Allah does not love.

4) “If he asks Me for something, I will give it to him” - his dua will be heard.

O Allah, make us among those whom You love. We ask Allah to help us do what He is pleased with. Amine.

Love for Allah is the most precious reward that every His slave should strive for, and which only the most righteous of His slaves achieve.

Love of Allah is the status that the righteous strive for. This is food for the heart and soul, joy for the eyes... The life of one who does not strive for the love of the Almighty is not important. Such a person is dead, because the light that can lead him to the pleasure of Allah and Paradise in the future has gone out in him. Once having lost the divine light, a person finds himself in eternal darkness. He lives in eternal suffering because he deprives himself of joy and happiness.

This is the spirit of faith and good deeds, with the help of which you can become closer to Allah. When a person does not have the desire to achieve the love of Allah, such a person is like a body without a soul.

Allah, make sure that we are among those you love.

Love for Allah has certain attributes and reasons that are the key to achieving it. These reasons include the following:

1 - Follow the instructions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Allah says in His Holy Book:

Say “If you love Allah, then follow me, then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins” - truly, Allah is forgiving, merciful.

2-5 - Humility towards believers and inflexibility towards unbelievers, fighting in the path of Allah, and not fearing anyone or anything except Him. Allah mentioned these qualities in one verse in which he says:

O you who believe! If any of you falls away from his religion, then... Allah will bring people whom He loves and who love Him, humble before the believers, great over the disbelievers, who fight in the path of Allah and are not afraid of those who reproach. This is the generosity of Allah: He grants it to whomever He wishes, for Allah is All-embracing, All-Knowing!

In this verse, Allah describes the qualities of those whom He loves, the first of which is humility and lack of arrogance towards Muslims and steadfastness towards unbelievers. They (those whom Allah loves) try for the sake of Allah, fight against Satan, unbelievers, hypocrites, evildoers and themselves (jihad al-nafs).

6 – Performing additional acts of worship. Allah says (according to hadith qudsi): " My slave continues to approach me with additional acts of worship until he achieves my love."Additional acts of worship include nafil prayers, charity, Umrah and fasting.

8-12 – Love for each other, visit each other, both material and spiritual help and sincere advice to each other for the sake of Allah.

These qualities were mentioned in a hadith in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reported that Allah said: “ My love becomes obligatory on those who love each other for My sake, My love becomes obligatory on those who visit each other for My sake, My love becomes obligatory on those who help each other (financially), My love becomes obligatory on those who who maintains relationships for My sake».

13 - Pass tests. Troubles and misfortunes are a test for a person, and this is a sign that Allah loves him. Trials for the soul are like medicines for the body: even if they are bitter, we still give them to those people we love for their own benefit, just as Allah sends us trials for our benefit. According to an authentic hadith: “ The greatest rewards come with great challenges. When Allah loves someone, He tests him, the one who accepts it with patience earns Allah's pleasure, and the one who complains deserves His wrath».

The troubles that befall a person in this life are better than the punishments in the future life. How could it be otherwise, because through troubles and misfortunes his sins are erased. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: " When Allah desires good for His slave, He hastens his punishment in this world, and when He delays his punishment until His servant appears before Him on the Day of Resurrection".

Scientists have explained that the one from whom troubles and trials are withheld is most likely a hypocrite, because Allah postpones punishment in this world in order to bring him with all his sins on the Day of Resurrection.

If Allah loves you, do not ask about the good that you will achieve and the virtue that you will acquire. It is enough to know that you are loved by Allah. The great fruits of the love of Allah His servant are:

  1. People will love him and he will be accepted on earth, as stated in the hadith narrated by al-Bukhari (3209): “ When Allah loves a slave, He says to Jibril: “I love this man, so do you,” and so Jibril loves him, and then turns to the people of heaven: “Allah loves this man, so love him,” and the people of heaven loves him and he will be accepted on earth."
  2. Allah mentioned in the hadith qudsi the great virtues of those whom He loves. It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: " Whoever shows enmity to anyone devoted to Me, I will fight with him. And the most beloved thing for Me, through which a servant approaches Me, is what I have made him a duty. And My servant will not stop approaching Me, doing voluntary (nafilya) deeds, until I love him. When I love him, I am his ear with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, the hand with which he strikes and the foot with which he walks. And if he asks Me, I will certainly give him, and if he asks Me for protection, then I will certainly protect him"(Reported by al-Bukhari).

This hadith qudsi includes a number of benefits of Allah's love for His servant:

  1. “I am his ear with which he hears,” that is, he does not listen to anything that Allah does not love.
  2. “The sight with which he sees,” that is, he does not see anything that Allah does not love.
  3. “The hand with which he strikes,” that is, does not do anything that Allah does not love.
  4. “The foot with which he walks,” that is, he does not go to what Allah does not love.
  5. “If he asks me for something, I will, of course, give it to him,” that is, his dua will be heard and his desires will be satisfied.
  6. “And if he asked me for protection, I, of course, would give it to him,” that is, he is protected by Allah from everything.

May Allah grant that He is pleased with us.

The Supreme Lord says:

“Among the people there are those who believe that there is someone equal to Allah and love them as (should) love Allah. But believers love Allah more. If the wrongdoers saw the torment (awaiting them), they would understand that power belongs entirely to Allah and that Allah punishes severely” (Quran 2:165).

The degree of love of believers for Allah

Know that the love of a slave for his Lord has two levels:

Common love. Every believer experiences it towards Allah, and it is obligatory (according to Sharia).

Special love. Only devoted scholars, loved ones of Allah (auliyya) and pure (hearted) believers can experience it. This is the highest degree (makam) of all degrees. This is the limit of aspiration. Truly, in all other degrees - fear, hope, hope (tawakkul) and others - there is a share of nafs. It is known that he who fears fears for himself, but he who hopes hopes for his own good. But that's not what love is like. Love is for the sake of the beloved, it does not require anything in return.

Reasons for loving Allah

Know that the reason for loving Allah is knowledge of Him. The more knowledge, the stronger the love. And the less knowledge, the weaker the love.

One of two things causes love. But when both of them are united in one creation of Allah Almighty, such a person will be perfect.

The first thing is kindness (husn) and beauty (jamal).

The second is doing good (ihsan) and harmony (ijmal).

Beautiful things evoke love - such is human nature. Man instinctively loves everything that he considers beautiful.

And harmony (ijmal) is, for example, the beauty of the Almighty in His boundless wisdom, amazing creations, His attributes shining with the light of splendor, which (when studied) saturate the minds and awaken the hearts. And the beauty of Allah Almighty is perceived by spiritual vision, and not by the eyes.

Regarding doing good (ihsan), people's hearts naturally love those who do good to them. And the good that Allah does for His slaves is limitless, as is the number of obvious and hidden mercies He has given:

It is enough for you to understand the fact that Allah bestows blessings on both the righteous and sinners, both believers and unbelievers. Any good deed done by creation is actually done by Allah. Therefore, in reality, only Allah deserves love.

Fruits of love for Allah

Know that if love for Allah is firmly established in the heart, its fruits will manifest itself in the rest of the body:

  • the person will be diligent in submitting to the Lord,
  • with inspiration to worship Him,
  • strive only for His pleasure,
  • find pleasure in secret conversation with Him,
  • will be pleased with His predestination,
  • will strive to meet Him,
  • will love His remembrance (dhikr),
  • will feel uncomfortable around people
  • starts avoiding people
  • will love solitude
  • worldly things will leave his heart,
  • a person will love those whom Allah loves and prefer such people to all others.
