Thin lavash with cottage cheese in the oven. Lavash with cottage cheese and herbs. Option with cheese in a slow cooker

Lavash is an unleavened bread that is very popular among residents of Transcaucasia and many Asian countries. It is baked in the form of thin flatbreads and eaten as a snack with various dishes. But not many people know how to cook a very tasty one with herbs and cottage cheese. But this can be done in different ways.

The simplest option

Housewives, while expecting guests, often rack their brains, thinking about what to put on the table as a snack. A lavash roll with herbs and cottage cheese is a win-win option for such an occasion. Moreover, to prepare it you need very few ingredients: for one thin one - a bunch of greens, 200 grams (pack) of low-fat cottage cheese, a little salt and a clove of garlic.

Preparing a lavash roll with herbs and cottage cheese is simple and quick:

  1. First, you need to wash the greens well, let the water drain, and then wipe them additionally with a towel.
  2. Peel the garlic. After this, finely chop it with a sharp knife or pass it through a special press.
  3. Place the cottage cheese in a blender and grind a little.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients and prepare them into a homogeneous mass in a few minutes. If desired, the mixture can be slightly salted.
  5. Spread the pita bread on a cutting board, fold it in half, and then spread it with the prepared mixture.
  6. After this, the layer must be rolled into a roll, wrapped in a plastic bag and placed in the refrigerator for 1-1.5 hours.

By the time the guests sit down at the table and start talking, the lavash roll with herbs and cottage cheese will be ready.

Worthy replacement

Unleavened oriental bread is an ideal base for preparing a wide variety of snacks. The main thing that distinguishes any lavash roll is the filling, recipes for which you can come up with yourself.

As an example, we can consider one of the most popular compositions: for 1 pita bread you will need processed cheese, cucumber, some greens and 300 grams of lightly salted salmon, pink salmon or salmon.

The main thing in preparing such a roll is to follow the order in which the ingredients are laid out. But first you need to prepare all the products: chop the greens, grate the cheese, cut the fish and cucumbers into cubes. Then everything is done in the usual way:

  1. Spread the pita bread and sprinkle cheese on it in an even layer. If the product is very dry, then first the surface can be coated with mayonnaise.
  2. Then comes a layer of greenery.
  3. After this, you need to carefully lay out the fish.
  4. The cucumber slices are laid out last.
  5. After this, all that remains is to roll everything up into a roll and put it in the refrigerator.

Before serving, it is better to cut the appetizer into pieces. Each housewife prepares lavash roll in her own way. Fillings whose recipes are already known are made much faster. But for variety, you can try other options. The following sets of components are ideal as a snack:

  1. Chicken breast, onions, mushrooms and mayonnaise.
  2. Hard cheese, herbs and canned fish in oil.
  3. Carrots, walnuts, garlic, mayonnaise and beets.

There are many more different options. Everyone chooses the one that he likes best.

Important component

Today, the filling of cottage cheese with herbs is the most popular for making lavash rolls. It is ideal for supporters of proper nutrition and for those who adhere to a diet.

It can be done very quickly. The main thing is that you have all the ingredients necessary for this in the house: for a pack of cottage cheese you only need a pinch of salt, a bunch of dill and 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

The composition is prepared as follows:

  1. The first thing you need to do is chop the dill. This can be done using a knife or a special hatchet for greens.
  2. Then the dill must be added to the cottage cheese, add the remaining ingredients and grind everything thoroughly. For work it is best to use a regular fork.

Vegetable lovers can add some tomato pulp to the prepared mixture. This is very easy to do. You must first cut off the top of the tomato, and then remove the inside with a teaspoon. And those who like spicy dishes can use garlic to prepare the filling. First you need to mash it well to release the juice.

Salted cottage cheese can also be used to prepare the filling. It will add piquancy to it, and this will make the dish even tastier.

To make such a snack, you will need: 1 thin pita bread, 75 grams of full-fat sour cream, a little ground black pepper, a few leaves of salt, 250 grams of cottage cheese and herbs.

The dish is prepared using the already known standard technology:

  1. Preparing the filling. To do this, you need to combine sour cream, cottage cheese and herbs, add a little salt, and then add a little pepper. You should get a delicate aromatic mass.
  2. Grease the pita bread generously with the prepared mixture.
  3. Place lettuce leaves on top in two rows.
  4. Roll the roll tightly.
  5. Carefully cut it with a sharp knife.

As a result of the original combination of products, the taste of the finished dish is simply amazing. Two or three pieces of this roll will serve not only as an excellent snack, but also as a good breakfast, which will give you a good mood and energy for the whole day.

Step 1: prepare the ingredients.

So, do you have all the ingredients needed for this dish at hand? Well then, let's get started! First, put the required amount of cottage cheese in a deep, clean bowl and thoroughly grind it with a fork or spoon until creamy, although you can do this through a fine mesh sieve or using a blender. Then add a raw chicken egg to this milk ingredient, as well as two types of sugar: vanilla and regular sand. Mix everything again to a homogeneous consistency - the filling is ready!

Now we spread the thinnest pita bread that can be found on store shelves in full length on the countertops; it is mostly rectangular. Using a sharp kitchen knife, divide it into 8 equal squares and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: form pita bread with cottage cheese.

Divide the filling into 8 equal parts and place it on the edge of each piece of pita bread. In turn, we bend the two opposite sides of each square inward, slightly covering the filling with them, and roll up the rolls.

Step 3: bring the lavash with cottage cheese until fully cooked.

Next, put a frying pan on medium heat and pour about 4-5 tablespoons of vegetable oil into it; for some, this amount may seem large, but do not forget that pita bread absorbs fat very strongly. After a few minutes, place the formed rolls, seam side down, in a well-heated bowl and fry them on one side until golden brown.
As soon as the products are browned, use a kitchen spatula to transfer them to the other side and cook them in the same way until they have a beige-brown-golden crust. Then we transfer the finished dish to a paper kitchen towel, previously spread on the countertop, and leave it there so that it absorbs excess oil. After this, distribute the warm pita bread with cottage cheese in portions on plates and serve it to the table.

Step 4: serve lavash with cottage cheese.

Lavash with cottage cheese is served warm or chilled as a main second course for breakfast or dinner or dessert for a sweet table. After cooking, rolls with aromatic filling are laid out in portions on plates and, if desired, each is supplemented with sour cream, cream, milk-based sauces, melted chocolate, favorite cream, condensed milk, jam, preserves, honey, berries, fruits, or simply sprinkled with powder. Then they are served along with hot or cold drinks, for example, coffee, tea, cocoa, milk, yogurt, kefir, but these are just a few of all the possible options, the choice depends on your taste. Enjoy!
Bon appetit!

Very often, chopped nuts, finely chopped dried fruits, dried berries, stewed pumpkin, mashed banana or crushed chocolate are added to the filling;

Sometimes the formed rolls are rolled in a mixture of beaten chicken eggs, sugar, flour and sour cream before frying;

The taste of the dish will be more delicate if you cook lavash with cottage cheese in butter;

If you wish, you can use regular round store-bought pita bread or homemade one, but rolling these into rolls is much more difficult;

Using the same method, you can prepare pita bread with spicy cottage cheese and fry it in a batter of beaten chicken eggs, as well as a mixture of your favorite spices.

Lavash stuffed with cottage cheese is not only simple and quick, but also incredibly tasty!

Unpredictable - because cottage cheese, thanks to garlic seasoning, tastes like cheese, which we can eat, but don’t need.

Lavash stuffed with cottage cheese, ingredients:

  1. Thin lavash with bran – 5 sheets.
  2. Low-fat cottage cheese – 300 g.
  3. Garlic seasoning - 1 tbsp.
  4. Dill – 1 bunch.

Recipe:

In principle, any cottage cheese will do, both wet and dry; lavash with filling will turn out delicious.

The trick is in the seasoning.

Of course, we can chop an onion, a couple of aromatic bell peppers, and a large orange carrot. Fry them in a frying pan, add finely chopped young garlic, freshly ground black pepper and sea salt. And it will be much tastier.

However, when we need to cook something quickly, store-bought seasoning comes to the rescue.

When you buy a seasoning, be sure to ensure that all the ingredients are natural, no monosodium glutamates or E. The composition of our seasoning in this case is as follows: garlic, onion, black pepper, paprika, carrots, cumin, salt.

So, add seasoning to the curd.

Then take the dill, chop it finely and finely, and add to the cottage cheese.

Using a spoon, mix everything well.

Now remove the pita bread from the bag. It comes in different sizes and shapes, ours is round and it is very convenient to make lavash with filling from it. If you have a large sheet, then it needs to be cut into several parts.

Also, if you couldn’t find lavash with bran, you can add it to the cottage cheese filling.

Well, if suddenly your pita bread has become weathered and dried out, do not throw it away under any circumstances.

It can be very simply revived.

Hold the lavash sheet over steam and it will become soft again, like fresh.

If it has dried to such an extent that it has begun to crumble, then take a towel, soak it in hot water and cover the pita sheets with it.

After some time, it will become soft and you can prepare pita bread with filling.

Place the filling on a sheet of lavash and fold it like an envelope: first fold the bottom, then the sides, and then roll the lavash, rolling it into a roll.

Heat a dry (without oil) frying pan and fry our stuffed pita bread on both sides for 1-2 minutes.

Everything is ready, you can eat.

How to choose the right lavash

It is worth considering that of the existing two types of lavash (Armenian and Georgian), lavash is used in recipes for preparing rolls, since it is thinner. The dough for Georgian lavash is fluffier; it is used as a base for pizza or sandwiches. Also, Armenian lavash has lower calorie content.

Recipe

  1. To begin, finely chop the prepared, washed greens (you can include parsley, dill, a little cilantro or green onions).

Important! If you have never tried or used cilantro before, first evaluate its taste in its pure form, so as not to spoil the overall impression of the prepared dish in the future.

  2. Place the cottage cheese in a deep bowl and add the herbs. If the cottage cheese is a little dry, you can dilute it with three tablespoons of sour cream. Take peeled garlic cloves and squeeze them here using a garlic press. Add salt, mix everything thoroughly with a fork or use a blender.

  3. We spread the pita bread on the table, lay out half of the prepared filling and distribute it over 1/3 of the pita bread or over the entire pita bread, but step back a little from the edges so that the filling does not fall out. We roll all this into a roll, and we carry out the same procedure with the second pita bread.

  4. Place the finished rolls tightly together and wrap with cling film. If cling film is not available, you can use an ordinary plastic bag. Place the resulting mixture in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, take it out of the refrigerator, print it out, cut the rolls into pieces and place them on plates.

Other preparation and filling options

Lavash can also be cooked in the oven or in a frying pan, which will turn it from a cold snack into a hot dish.

Triangles and envelopes made of lavash with curd cheese

Instead of a roll, you can make triangles and envelopes from pita bread with cottage cheese and herbs in a frying pan or in the oven. In order to twist the triangles, just cut the pita bread into 3 equal strips, then put the filling on one of the edges of the strip and begin to wrap the pita bread together with the filling with a corner on the opposite side of the strip (as shown in the picture).

In a frying pan

In the oven

If you don’t want to stand at the frying pan, you can send the finished figures to an oven preheated to 180 degrees and cook until golden brown.

You can prepare pita bread with cottage cheese, adding cheese. This will give the dish special delicate notes. You can add tomatoes, bell peppers to the recipe at your own discretion, and if you want something sweet, then raisins or jam will be a great addition to the cottage cheese!

Finally

Having prepared lavash with cottage cheese in various ways, I am going to try the recipe in the near future and

The paper-thin lavash crust is the basis for many interesting culinary discoveries. The filling in the form of cottage cheese allows you to prepare from it both an appetizing cold appetizer and an original dessert.

In the first case, you can add chopped garlic with spices or finely chopped mashed onions with herbs into the curd mass. Using paprika or crushed turmeric, you can add spicy notes to the filling, and at the same time color it in delicate tones.

In the second case, vanillin, raisins, pieces of dried fruit and sugar are added to taste.

The main conditions: fresh fatty cottage cheese and keeping the finished roll in the refrigerator for an hour.

Ingredients

  • lavash 30 × 40 cm - 1 pc.
  • cottage cheese - 250 g
  • sour cream with a fat content of 15–20% - 100 ml
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • parsley - 0.5 bunch
  • dill - 0.5 bunch
  • ground black pepper

Preparation

1. Add cottage cheese to a deep bowl for preparing the filling. Rub it through an iron strainer or simply mash it with a fork so that you don’t feel any lumps of cottage cheese in the finished dish.

2. Add sour cream to the plate with cottage cheese (if it is not there, mayonnaise), mix thoroughly. Sour cream with a fat content of 15–20% is recommended; rustic (very thick) will not work, since we need to prepare curd cream to lubricate the pita bread.

3. Peel and rinse the garlic cloves. Cut into small pieces using a sharp knife or grate. Add to the curd mass and stir. Add salt and ground black pepper.

4. Wash dill, parsley or other herbs that are available and chop finely. Be sure to dry to avoid excess moisture. Add the greens to the bowl with the ingredients and mix well.

5. Place the finished pita bread on a comfortable table surface or board. Spoon the curd mixture with herbs and spread it with a knife or spoon over the entire layer.
