Description and instructions for the drug Pol-pal

Pol-pal is a well-known herbal diuretic. The plant itself, leaves, stems, flowers, fruits and even the roots of which are used to make infusions, is called woolly erva. A decoction or infusion of crushed dried herbs has a variety of effects on the human body. The most famous diuretic activity of Pol-pal is the ability to remove water, as well as sodium and chlorine salts. In addition, this herbal medicine exhibits anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects. The collections are not medicines, but biologically active supplements that can accompany the treatment of various pathologies or be used as a prophylactic agent.

Pol-pal is used for:

  • Disorders of the genitourinary system - kidneys, ureters, bladder;
  • Urolithiasis;
  • Gout (salt deposits);
  • Diseases that are accompanied by fluid stagnation and swelling. For example, with hypertension, diabetes, and so on.

Pol-pal is produced in the form of tea. The instructions for the drug, attached to the pack of herbal raw materials, tell you how to brew this tea in order to maintain a therapeutic dosage. For adult patients, brew one tablespoon of Pol-pal (boil for about ten minutes) in a glass of water, infuse the decoction. You need to take this remedy twice a day, one-third of the resulting infusion.

Pol-pal is contraindicated for:

  • Allergies to woolly erva;
  • In childhood, during pregnancy and lactation.

Side effects

If while using this herbal medicine you feel nausea or experience intolerance reactions - itchy rashes, such as hives, redness - treatment with Pol-Pala should be stopped.

Reviews about Pol-pal

There are a great many stories about the miraculous properties of this tea. Reviews about what and how can be treated with Pol-pal can be found on all sites dedicated to herbalism and traditional medicine. But the fact is that these messages are more reminiscent of retelling other people’s recipes than their own impressions.

For example, people write: “Pol-pala is very helpful for digestive diseases. If you drink this infusion, scarring of stomach ulcers and erosions will occur. This is how my husband cured his old gastritis, and my daughter got rid of it on her face.” Such a message can hardly be called a personal opinion, a review of the effectiveness of this supplement.

Stories of a different kind look more plausible, in which people describe not the end result, but the process of using Pol-pal. For example, they discuss how best to brew and infuse this tea, how best to drink it. In such conversations, the opinion is expressed that Pol-pal tea spoils the enamel of teeth, so it must be drunk through a straw, and that this additive causes allergies in many people.

Pol-pal has its loyal fans who use the infusion internally, externally, and even internally. They recommend this supplement to everyone and “for everything.” There are more restrained and reasonable opinions that say that Pol-Fal can help someone under certain conditions. And there are complete pessimists.

In general, with regard to this and other herbal remedies, it is better to take a middle point of view. It is important to understand that Pol-Pala itself will not cure you, that diuretics can undermine your health in some conditions, rather than improve it. Therefore, first consult your doctor and find out whether you can accompany the prescribed treatment with the use of Pol-pal.

In this article we will talk about an exotic plant called half-fallen (erva woolly), which relatively recently appeared on the shelves of Russian pharmacies, but has already managed to gain well-deserved demand among people suffering from urolithiasis and cholelithiasis. Pol-pal not only effectively dissolves stones in the kidneys and gall bladder, removing them from the body, but also has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the body as a whole. We will talk in detail about the healing power of this herb, its properties and application below.

The grass is half fallen (woolly erva)

The official botanical name of the grass is woolly erva (Aerva lanata).

Pol-pal is a biennial herbaceous plant, the height of which is about 140 cm. This plant has a gray-white taproot, from which a few lateral branches extend.

The grass stems, green in color and up to 1 cm in diameter, are highly branched and can be either erect or creeping. The leaves of the plant have an elliptical (sometimes almost round) shape. The length of the leaves does not exceed 2 cm, and the width is 1.5 cm.

Small and rather inconspicuous flowers are half-painted and have a perianth of cream or whitish-green color. The flowers of the plant are collected in spike-shaped inflorescences. The small fruit of this plant is distinguished, firstly, by its box-shaped shape, and secondly, by its elongated spout.

The plant blooms from July until the onset of cold weather.

The homeland of the grass is half-false - the island of Ceylon, which belongs to the territory of the state of Sri Lanka. But today this plant is also grown in Russia, but the herb grown in Ceylon still has the maximum number of medicinal properties (it is important to correctly collect, process and dry the plant, which are carried out according to ancient recipes passed on from one generation to another).

Those who want to grow woolly erva in their garden should remember that this tropical plant requires high humidity, warmth and sunlight for full growth.

Important! Since 1992, half-palm has been included in the register of medicinal plants, therefore the instructions for the use of this medicinal herb have been approved by order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Collection and storage of grass is half gone

Collection

The stem, root, leaves and seeds of the plant are used for medicinal purposes (in the pharmaceutical version, all these components are mixed). The plant is cut during the flowering and fruiting period, that is, in the month of October (by this time the plant should reach a height of about 30 - 40 cm). Half the fallen plant is pulled out by the roots, after which it is shaken off the ground. Then it is necessary to separate the above-ground part from the underground. The root of the plant is cut into strips up to 20 cm long and dried at a temperature of 40 - 50 degrees in the air (but always in the shade) or in a well-ventilated room.

The grass and stems are dried in the same way as roots.

If we talk about harvesting seeds, it is carried out after the first frost: thus, the collected seeds are dried and threshed.

Plants with medicinal properties can be found in any climate zone, and the peoples inhabiting these territories use medicinal herbs in folk medicine. Many types of medicinal plants are exported to other countries, such as the herb, the main supplier of which until recently was Fr. Ceylon. Since 1992, woolly Erva (Aerva lanata) - this is the botanical name of the plant - has been included in the register of medicinal plants approved for use on the territory of the Russian Federation, and a technology for the industrial cultivation of this plant in the climate typical for Russia has been developed.

The grass is half fallen (woolly erva)

The official botanical name of the grass is woolly erva (Aerva lanata).

Pol-pal is a biennial herbaceous plant, the height of which is about 140 cm. This plant has a gray-white taproot, from which a few lateral branches extend.

  • Kidney diseases. A decoction or infusion is used for pyelonephritis, glomerulonephritis, as it has a bacteriostatic effect, and also, due to its diuretic effect, helps restore the filtration function of the kidneys and helps with edema caused by fluid retention. Used as part of litholytic therapy, it is able to dissolve low-density kidney stones consisting of uric acid salts, the so-called urate ones. With oxalates, it promotes their excretion in the urine. Treatment should begin after diagnosing the composition and size of the stones and consulting a surgeon. If the prognosis is favorable, it is quite possible to get rid of stones without a scalpel;
  • Bladder diseases. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and relieves unpleasant pain symptoms in cystitis, and in case of urolithiasis, it promotes the removal of metabolic products and fights hyperuricemia. For such treatment, it is also necessary to prescribe a doctor who will confirm that the stones can be dissolved;
  • Gastrointestinal diseases. For chronic pancreatitis, prophylactic use of a decoction or infusion, which has a mild antispasmodic effect, is useful. In case of cholelithiasis, it helps in case of formation of small cholesterol stones, which are recommended to be removed. Activates processes in the gallbladder, preventing stagnation of its contents. In case of gastritis, it has a detrimental effect on pathogenic bacteria (Helicobacter pylori). It is a hepatoprotective agent, protects the liver, in particular hepatocytes, its soft tissue cells, from the action of toxins;
  • Joint diseases. For gout – promotes the elimination of uric acid salts (urates), helping the kidneys cope with its excess. For arthritis (polyarthritis), both infectious and autoimmune, it acts on joints as a decongestant and relieves pain;
  • Gynecological diseases. Helps inhibit the processes of spontaneous mitosis (division of atypical cells) in fibroids, cysts, polyps and other neoplasms, and is used in gynecology as an antitumor agent. Thanks to its hormone-normalizing effect, it helps restore the menstrual cycle for women;
  • Diabetes. Has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the endocrine system. In type 2 diabetes, it helps eliminate insulin resistance and stimulates the production of insulin by the pancreas in case of incomplete insufficiency. Reduces the risk of complications;
  • Diseases of the genitourinary tract in men. Stimulates the production of male sex hormones - testosterone and androgen, protects against possible erectile dysfunction, increases ejaculate production, and is useful for prostatitis.

In addition, decoctions and infusions of the herb pol pala accelerate metabolic processes in general, therefore they are effective in combination with a diet for weight loss, help improve skin condition and are effective against acne, and are widely used in cosmetology to strengthen hair and nails.

Procurement of medicinal raw materials

Some gardeners and gardeners grow half-palu in their garden plots, which, of course, requires special patience and perseverance, as well as knowledge of agricultural technology.

The entire plant is used for medicinal purposes: roots, grass and seeds. Half of the fall comes to pharmacies in crushed form along with roots and seeds, which, by the way, can be sprouted if desired. During the summer, the grass is cut 2-3 times, when the plant reaches a height of at least 30 cm. The cut grass can be dried under canopies, in a ventilated room. The roots of the half-fallen plant (along with the grass) are collected in the fall, before frost sets in, since the crop does not tolerate sub-zero temperatures. It is recommended to dry the root at a temperature of 40 - 50 °C (thermal dryers), or in the open air, similar to drying grass. Medicinal raw materials are stored in linen bags or cardboard boxes. Shelf life - up to 3 years.

Contraindications

Over-the-counter medicinal plants are not poisonous. But incorrect use can always cause harm. A half-fallen plant can become dangerous in the wrong hands. Contraindications here include the risk of harming health through ignorance and negligence.

This medicinal plant helps remove calcium and sodium cations from the body. Their excess or deficiency has a bad effect on the functioning of cells. Under laboratory conditions, cells require a specific combination of these cations and potassium cations in the extracellular environment. Otherwise, their normal life activity is impossible. The dangerous properties and contraindications of woolly erva require careful attention to them.

It has contraindications during pregnancy and breastfeeding; it is not prescribed to children under 12 years of age. Use is possible only as prescribed by a doctor. Contraindication is individual intolerance.

Pol-pal is a herb that is difficult to combine with other diuretics that remove salts from the body. Erva woolly cannot be used if the stones exceed the diameter of the excretory ducts. If you have stones of this size in your body, half a stone can be a recipe for ending up in the hospital. Just 1 leaf of grass can cause great harm to health.

When removing stones, severe pain is possible due to their movement. To facilitate the process, you may need a hot bath, antispasmodics and painkillers.

Using this herbal remedy to remove stones from the body at home is very dangerous. There is no information about overdose, but if your doctor prohibits the use of this remedy, it is better to listen to him.

Side effects include allergic skin rashes, angioedema, and nausea. At the first symptoms, use should be discontinued.

It is also worth noting that products with half-palm are incompatible with saline diuretics, which increase the excretion of potassium ions. The plant has a negative effect on the enamel, softening it, so infusions and decoctions should be drunk through a straw and then rinsed with mouth.
