She told our newspaper about how Sasha broke up with her first love in order to conquer the capital and how she got involved in the main musical project.

We met with Sasha Vorobyova in a restaurant where the singer had a performance that evening. The artist was accompanied by her director Pavel, who, as it turned out, not only manages her affairs, but also proposed marriage.
- Sasha, you said that you chose Gradsky because your grandfather loved the maestro’s songs.
- Grandfather, Vyacheslav Khokhlachev, taught at a music school and at the same time led the Pokrovsky Dawns folk instrument orchestra. He sent my mother to study piano, she is my music teacher, and his aunt to study folklore. My grandfather often told me how he and my grandmother collected Alexander Gradsky’s records and sang the hit “How Young We Were” in a duet. Grandfather, unfortunately, passed away quite recently, but I dedicate every appearance on the “Voice” stage to him. He wanted me to take part in the project, but I kept repeating: “Everything was bought there!” I was sure that you could get on the show only for money or through connections. After graduating from the Gnessin Academy of Music, I still decided to try my luck. At the casting I sang a Christina Aguilera song and passed. It’s a pity that the grandfather didn’t see his granddaughter: how happy he would have been with my choice of mentor! But my grandmother doesn’t miss a single broadcast and always cries when I sing.

- I noticed that Gradsky treated you very kindly.
- Alexander Borisovich even chooses dresses for me. At the previous stage, the project stylists brought me a luxurious outfit, but I simply couldn’t fit into it. There is no time to sew or alter: the performance is the next day. I found a dress in my wardrobe - black, with lace on the shoulders. It turned out that Gradsky and I have the same tastes. He said so: “The feathers correspond to the French song “Waltz of a Thousand Times.” Great choice!" He liked the dress so much that it was in it that he asked me to come to his creative evening, which took place a week ago. For the first time I spoke in front of an audience of thousands, I sat in the audience Joseph Kobzon. I was worried, of course. Gradsky encouraged me in a fatherly way: he hugged me and kissed me. Now I will keep the dress all my life as a talisman.
- Didn’t Gradsky put you on a diet? They say that “his” singer Bush Goman has lost ten kilograms.
- Vice versa. Gradsky asked: “Why are you so thin?” Now he and I are not busy with a diet, but with another dress: tight, with a slit on the leg. In general, I am not a supporter of extreme diets. I eat buns at night, although I understand that I need to lose a couple of kilograms.
- Your tattoo attracted the attention of the male half no less than your long legs. In honor of what event did you get the tattoo?
- If translated from Latin, it means “Not a step back, only forward.” I got it done a year ago at a friend’s place, not even in a tattoo parlor, but at his home. My boyfriend reacted well because he also has three tattoos. I have two more, both musical: one on my shoulder and a cherry note on my leg.

Night work

- You came to Moscow from the provinces. Was it hard?
- Like everyone else, I rented an apartment and worked - first as a saleswoman, then at the Prado Cafe karaoke. I was 18 and working at karaoke was a night job. I remember how visitors, having performed a song, demanded to leave the microphone so they could sing another one. But according to the rules, I must pass the microphone to the guests sitting at the next table. When I tried to do this, the tipsy man began to show me obscene gestures. You can’t be rude to a guest: I explained as best I could that I couldn’t give him a microphone. I also remember how guys with weapons arrived in the VIP room and a showdown began... I became hysterical, and I couldn’t come to my senses until the morning.
- You gave the impression of a confident girl at the audition. But when I communicate with you, I understand that you are modest and shy.
- Complexes of the past. The fact is that I was the tallest in the class. They didn’t call me anything other than bighead. I considered myself ugly. I didn’t sit in the last desk only because my eyesight was poor. Ironically, a boy from the senior class, Vasya, who he called big, fell in love with me in the tenth grade. I was not a prima at school or a “lighter”: I didn’t go to discos due to lack of free time. The day was scheduled hour by hour: vocal lessons, piano, violin. With the advent of Vasya, life changed. He was so fashionable - he was a break dancer. Smart, authoritative among the guys. Mom and Dad were shocked at first when I brought him to visit. Frankly speaking, Vasya had a reputation as a hooligan. We dated him for three years, he is my first love, the first man in my life. We broke up because I left for Moscow. It hurt, but we both decided it was best for both of us. I don't believe in love at a distance. We still wish each other happy birthday. I think Vasya is proud of me, but for me he is a past life.
- Where did you go to work after the karaoke club?
- At one time she sang in the Spotlight Band and, by the way, was not the first violin again. Roman was the leader in our orchestra, leaving me no chance for leadership. He knows how to talk to the public well, but after singing a song I can’t say a word into the microphone.

Got engaged in the air

- Tell me how you met your director Pavel, who also became your fiancé.
- We have known Pasha for nine months, but I have already accepted the offer to marry him. Pasha won me over with his persistence: he came every evening to the restaurant where I was performing, looking at me all the time. But he did not dare to speak first. I noticed his shyness and started a conversation. We are both Capricorns, we feel each other. In August, Pasha invited me to the Moscow region. He booked a hot air balloon ride and when we were high in the sky, he got down on one knee and proposed to me. We both started crying. Since then, I have not parted with the thin ring on my finger. We are planning to have a wedding in May. When I get married, I will take my husband’s surname - I will become Shvetsova, but I will leave my creative pseudonym - Vorobyova.
- Did your parents approve of the choice this time?
- Mom liked Pasha. He doesn’t let me go a single step: at auditions, at events. Both he and I are quite jealous. Although I don't give a reason.
- Have your fees increased after you became a participant in “The Voice”?
- The money is divided between the team members, my salary remains the same for now.
- If you win, the channel may send you to Eurovision. Will you go?
- Still would! I can sing in different genres: from jazz to romance.
- What would you never do for fame?
- I won’t agree to shoot in men’s magazines for any money.

“I stopped believing in Santa Claus at the age of ten, when I saw that my grandmother early in the morning took gifts out of the closet and hid them under the Christmas tree.
