The Russian Academy of Justice was created in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 528 of May 11, 1998. and Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1119 of October 28, 1999. The founders of the Kazan branch of the State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Russian Academy of Justice" are the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

In 2001, the Kazan branch began its activities.
The main task of the Academy is to improve the qualifications and retraining of judges and court staff, therefore, in the Kazan branch, a faculty of advanced training was initially created, and in 2002 - a faculty of training specialists for the judicial system (Faculty of Law). In 2004, a college was opened that trains students in the secondary vocational education program.

The Russian Academy of Justice is the only state higher educational institution in Russia that provides continuous specialized training for future judges and court staff. Legal training begins early. The college accepts students who have completed grades 9 and 11 of secondary schools. After graduating from college, graduates form a more informed decision to continue their studies at the Academy.

Higher education at the Faculty of Law is received by persons with secondary general education, secondary vocational and higher education. In senior courses, attention is paid to a thorough study of the features of the organization and functioning of the judicial system. Leading Russian judges and court staff take part in training students, along with highly qualified teaching staff. Specialists with higher education can subsequently enter graduate school or improve their qualifications at the Academy.

The prestige of legal education in Russia is undoubtedly high. This is confirmed by the high competition for admission to the university, especially for budget places, as well as the demand for qualified Academy graduates by employers.

Currently, there is a need for well-trained specialists in the judicial system, primarily qualified lawyers. The demand for graduates is explained by the presence of a large staff of judges in Russia - about 35 thousand people, and their number is steadily growing.

Today, more than 600 people are studying within the branch. In 2004, out of 18 graduates, 10 graduated from the university with honors. The quality of graduates’ knowledge is confirmed by state certification commissions.

Russian State University of Justice- the first and only state educational institution of higher education in our country for training specialists for the judicial system.

The role of judges and court staff especially high and significant in recent times, when a new Russian statehood is being formed and, as a result of legal reform, the judiciary has become a real force capable of protecting human rights and freedoms. Not just highly educated lawyers can administer justice - they must be wise people, knowledgeable about the most complex issues of life, capable of asserting justice through their work every day. In order to ensure the proper level and quality of work of the courts, specially trained personnel are needed, and it is for this purpose that, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Justice, now the Russian State University of Justice, was created, the founder of which was the judicial power - the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation.

In 2001, the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice, located in Kazan, was opened in accordance with the order of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation (dated August 10, 2001 No. 4) and the order of the Supreme Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation (dated August 10, 2001 No. C1 -80С1-1296) based on the decision of the Academic Council of the university (dated February 15, 2001, protocol No. 1) .

The Russian State University of Justice turned 20 in 2018. The university has 11 branches, one of them is located in Kazan. The Kazan branch was one of the first to open and dates back to 2001. The university purposefully trains specialists for the courts, so if an applicant has decided to build a career in the judicial system, then this is the best option. Although most graduates find employment in the courts, this is not the only area of ​​activity - they find work in the prosecutor's office, the investigative committee, commercial organizations, and the bar.

This year the university opened three new directions:

1. “Judicial and prosecutorial activity” is a higher education program at the “specialty” level with a duration of study of 5 years for full-time and 5 years 8 months for correspondence. It provides for more in-depth training in the organization of judicial activities. A diploma of completion gives the right to work in management positions and enter graduate school. One of the advantages of a specialty is that the duration of study is one year shorter than for a bachelor’s + master’s degree. But the university also continues to train lawyers according to the two-tier Bologna system.
2. “Public and Municipal Administration” is a master’s program with a duration of study of 2 years 3 months via correspondence. It will be of interest to students majoring in management at a university who previously could only obtain a bachelor's degree. This year, the university received a license for a master's program, giving graduates greater opportunities.
3. “Law and Judicial Administration” is a secondary vocational education program designed for 2 years 10 months. Graduates will be able to work in the judicial system.

Please note that you can enter the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice not only after the 11th grade, but also after the 9th grade, both for budget places and for places with tuition fees paid. There are 28 budget places available for the “Law and Judicial Administration” program, and 10 for the “Land and Property Relations” program. The level of secondary vocational education is in great demand. The average certificate score of previous years' applicants applying for government-funded places was 4.9. In the future, graduates of secondary vocational education can receive higher education under an accelerated program, reducing the period of study by 1 year.

For example, students studying in the specialty “Law and Organization of Social Security” do internships at the Pension Fund or in social protection services. In the areas of “Law and Judicial Administration”, “Jurisprudence” - in the Supreme Court, Arbitration Court, district, city courts of the republic and other constituent entities of Russia,” says Alsou Garifullina, Deputy Director for Educational and Educational Work of the Kazan Branch of the RSUP.

The university cooperates with the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Arbitration Court of the Volga District. Judges of the Supreme Court conduct classes with students starting from the 3rd year. Judges and staff of the Arbitration Court - with final year students of the Faculty of Law in the training program for court secretaries. Based on the results of training, graduates are employed in the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Tatarstan.

By order of the director of the branch, a Commission was created for the distribution of graduates to the judicial system and departmental organizations of Tatarstan, which includes chairmen of courts, representatives of the Office of the Judicial Department of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tatarstan. Even at the training stage, commission members get to know the students and, based on the results, offer specific vacancies. Students of the Kazan branch of RSUP take part in city, republican and all-Russian competitions and festivals

Student life is not only lectures and sessions, but a bright, eventful extracurricular time. You can rock out in the vocal studio "Jazz beet", the dance studio - "Grandes Provice Crew" or the KVN team, which, by the way, becomes the winner of the KVN games for two years in a row and is awarded a trip to the international games "KiViN" in Sochi. All branches of the university participate in the student festival “Constellation RGUP”.

The university has a student council, which includes a scientific society, a volunteer movement, a school of curators, a school of mentors, a student club, a debate club, an intellectual games club, a sports sector, an external relations sector, and a student security service. First-year students begin their acquaintance with the university with the interactive game “Ford Boyard”, held before the start of the academic year. Our students take part in city, republican and all-Russian events. One of the latest achievements of the Kazan branch of the RSUP was the victory of Diana Safina, who took 2nd place in the Republican competition “EcoSpring 2018” in the nomination “The Most Active Student,” says Alsou Garifullina.

500 million rubles have been allocated for a new building and dormitory

The Russian State University of Justice has state accreditation and, accordingly, all the benefits provided to students, including a deferment from the army. The main university has a military department that trains reserve officers in the military specialty “Judicial Work.” Students of the branches go to Moscow for military training, and based on the results of their training, they are awarded the military rank of lieutenant of justice with simultaneous enlistment in the reserves. The competition for the military department is great - you need not only a record book with positive grades, but also good health and physical fitness.

The university carries out career guidance work - these are open days and on-site events in schools, competitions and Olympiads on the topic of law. High school students can test themselves in the Interregional Olympiad on Law “Themis”, the winners of which have the right to be admitted to the Russian State University of Justice or any of its branches on a budget place.

This year the Kazan branch will accept about 600 people. Now more than 2 thousand students study here. As part of budget funding, the university was allocated 500 million rubles for the construction of a 170-bed dormitory with a sports complex, as well as a new seven-story academic building. Design work is carried out by the State Unitary Enterprise "Tatinvestgrazhdanproekt". Construction is planned to be completed by 2020.
