Preference - what is it? Meaning, synonyms and examples. Life goals - the more, the better! my main spiritual values

Each person is unique, and his life preferences are individual, and yet they can be unified and categorized:

1. Professional preferences. This includes career aspirations, professional development, recognition and success. Preferences in this category may also involve influencing other people and self-improvement in the professional sphere.

2. Family preferences. This category includes the desire to improve relationships with a spouse, parents, children and other relatives and loved ones.

3. Financial preferences. This includes everything related to the financial and material well-being of a person and his loved ones: maintaining and increasing savings, ensuring the education of children, purchasing a new car, a country house, etc.

4. Social preferences. This category implies a person's participation in public life, as well as his relationships with friends, acquaintances, colleagues, business partners, housemates, etc. Preferences in this category show how important the people around you are to you.

5. Intelligent preferences. This includes everything related to personal development: developing creative abilities, concentrating, improving memory, etc.

7. Physical preferences. This category includes the development of endurance, mobility, health care, maintaining good physical shape, as well as acquiring skills in certain sports. You may have preferences that are not included in this list. There is a possibility that not all of the life values mentioned are a priority for you, but that is not the point. The main thing for you is to establish your own preferences, and then align your goals with them.

Target selection

The goal formulation must meet certain requirements:

1. Specificity. For example, instead of a vague phrase “I will take care of my health,” you should use extremely specific wording: “Twice a week I will go to a fitness club and exercise for 45 minutes.”

2. Measurability. When setting a goal, do not forget to determine the conditions under which the goal will be considered achieved.

3. Realism. Dreams are allowed to be vague and even unattainable; a goal is something you must achieve. However, this does not mean that all goals can be simple and easily achievable; it is useful to set goals that require physical and mental effort.

4. The goal must be expressed using end result terminology, rather than an ongoing process. For example, the wording: “Draw up a business plan before October 5” is completely unacceptable. In this case, you should use the phrase: “Submit a business plan for approval on October 5.”

5. Time frame. A goal is not a goal if it does not have clear boundaries. In this case, this border is ≪October 5≫.

6. Use positive terminology. When formulating a goal, do not use the preposition “not”: “I will not smoke”, “I will not be late for work”, etc. It is better to use the phrases “I will keep my lungs clean and healthy”, “I will come to work on time” .

Also make sure that your goal is something you would like to do, but not something you need to do. The goal setting process consists of three stages:

1. Setting long-term strategic goals.

2. Determination of activities with which you can achieve the selected goals.

3. Selecting specific daily tasks that will comprise your chosen activities.

It is advisable to choose strategic goals in all the most significant areas of your life (see “Choosing Life Preferences”). So, if you are interested in goals in the areas of career and financial well-being, pay attention to the amount of time you have to spend on organizing your affairs in your family life, in relationships with friends, etc. Define goals in each of these areas. In order to be able to make adjustments to goals from time to time, it is recommended that they, like life preferences, be documented in writing. Such entries will serve as a constant reminder and guide to action.

The effectiveness of this method of achieving goals was confirmed by studies conducted in 1953 at Yale University. Thus, when asked about the existence of plans for the future, formalized in the form of records of goals and objectives, only 3% of respondents from among university graduates answered positively. The remaining 93% of yesterday's students did not have such written plans. After 20 years, it turned out that these 3% felt much more successful than their former classmates, both in the personal, professional and financial spheres of life.

Prioritization and timing

I won’t focus on what we went through:

Calendar

Anything unnecessary goes to the trash can

Information accumulates at a tremendous speed and becomes outdated just as quickly. You should get rid of unnecessary and outdated information, as well as unnecessary things, in a timely manner.

Look at all the places where unnecessary and outdated information may accumulate. Such places include:

Database

Desk drawer

≪Don’t put it off until tomorrow...≫

There are two main reasons why things are put off, even if there is time to complete them. The first is that the matter is too complex and voluminous. You are probably close to this situation: you need to write, for example, a term paper, the deadlines are “pressing”, but you still can’t bring yourself to get down to work. Why? The volume is large, but the outcome is unknown: what if nothing happens? What if everything ends in failure? Fear of failure is what makes a person delay the moment of starting.

The second reason why a person cannot take on a certain job is that such a task is most often unpleasant or boring. How can I get rid of this?

1. Tackle unpleasant tasks first, early in the morning. You haven’t even had time to really wake up, but the job is already done. Under no circumstances should such a task be the last item on your to-do list, otherwise the thought of it will poison your entire day.

2. Draw in your imagination the punishments that will fall on your head if you don’t get down to business immediately (hellish toothache, silence on the phone when you need to decide a matter of life and death over the phone, etc.). Remember also your moral anguish and remorse due to the fact that you are pushing back and postponing an unpleasant task. Maybe it’s better to start taking action than to continue to suffer?

2. If this doesn’t help, tell yourself: “I won’t do this disgusting thing to the end.” I'll just start it.” Call your dentist to find out his schedule. Perhaps he will make an appointment for you, and then you will have no choice but to go to him. Place phone and other bills in your bag. When you happen to find yourself near a settlement center, all you have to do is go into it.

3. Give yourself a reward for completing an unpleasant task. Promise that you will go to a cafe with friends or buy something you have long dreamed of.

4. The following trick also works well, helping to take on unpleasant household chores. Can't bring yourself to do the laundry? Place dirty laundry in your favorite chair or other visible place. Do you need to make repairs in your apartment, but month after month you put off this unpleasant task? Tear off a piece of wallpaper in the most visible place. Maybe your loved ones are planning to remodel their apartment, but don’t know where to start? Take a sledgehammer and destroy the wall that has been an eyesore for a long time. Rest assured that your family will complete the renovation in record time.

5. Take a sheet of paper and divide it into two parts with a vertical line. On the left, write the reasons that make you hesitate to complete the task, and on the right, the reasons why it should be completed immediately.

6. It happens that no tricks, no remorse, no forces can force a person to begin performing an unpleasant or boring task. In this case, you should think: is it worth doing it at all? Maybe it belongs to group D (things are unimportant and not urgent), which means you can neglect it, forget about it forever.

Parent meeting:"Life Goals of Teenagers"

Tasks: discuss with parents the life and moral priorities of adolescents; think over a system of activities that contribute to the formation of a teenager’s life and civic position.

Form of conduct: exchange of opinions at a round table with elements of a lecture

Issues for discussion:

  1. What do you think is a person’s first life goal?

Preparatory work:surveying students, conducting the project methodology “My Life Choice”, conducting a class hour "Life Goals of Teenagers"video recording of students, monitoring the participation of 8th grade students in the intellectual life of the school from 6th to 8th grade.

Progress of the meeting

Dear moms and dads! Our children are growing up, and as they grow up, not only the joy from their successes grows, but also their problems.

Children develop their own secret interests, at some point in time they cease to understand their family and friends. In turn, parents, frightened by the changes in their own child, cease to understand them, break into abuse and shouting, and physical violence, which only aggravates the process of alienation and discord.

Why is this happening? Often because all the family’s efforts are aimed only at satisfying the child’s material needs and preserving his physical health. His dreams and plans, life goals are often unknown to the family and are insignificant for it.

In this regard, I would like to give a short parable.

The king learns that his son is getting married. He is indignant, stomping his feet, waving his arms, shouting at those closest to him. His face is terrible, and his anger knows no bounds. He shouts to his subjects: “Why didn’t they report that the son had already grown up?”

While our children are still with us, let's try to figure out what goals they set for themselves, how true and realistic these goals are, and how to help the children not be disappointed and not lose themselves in life.

The topic of our meeting today"Life Goals of Teenagers"and as an epigraph to the collection I took the words of the Indian thinker, philosopher Swami Vivekananda“Every person should be judged not by who he is, but by what he really wants to achieve!”

Our meeting is unusual. It will take the form of an exchange of opinions at a round table. And I hope that by the end of our meeting, you will be able to draw a conclusion for yourself about how important it is to teach and guide a child correctly along the path of life, to help determine life goals and priorities, and ultimately to help determine a professional choice.

But first, I would like to return to the epigraph of our meeting.Do you agree with this statement? If so, why?

II. Issues for discussion

I bring to your attention questions for discussion:

  1. How do you see your child in the future?
  2. Are you familiar with his life goals? Do you approve of them?
  3. Life preferences of adolescents: who shapes them?
  4. What can influence the formation of adolescents’ life priorities?
  5. How to help teenagers overcome failures and disappointments?

From your answers it is clear that every parent wants to see their child as a morally healthy person, a person with strong life goals.Well, if you formulate the question like this: “What is a person’s first life goal?” I think everyone will agree that this is about creating your own personality.

III. Project methodology “My life choice”

Before the meeting, I usually have a class hour. This could be a conversation with elements of discussion, a survey, or writing a letter to the future. And this time was no exception. The project methodology “My Life Choice” was carried out with the guys and I present to your attention the results:

  1. The purpose of my life is….
  2. My parents know that my purpose in life is….
  3. I know that to achieve my life goals I need....
  4. In order for my goals to be realized, today I succeed.....
  5. Support in achieving my life goals are.....
  6. In order to achieve the goal, I must.....
  7. In order to achieve my goal, I must not...

From the methodology we see that, despite the fact that the guys are 8th grade students, many know: to achieve success you need knowledge, you need to work, study well, you need patience, willpower, and desire. Theory does not always coincide with practice, especially when it comes to teenage children. And this is where parents and teachers can and should have a significant influence.

I invite you to take part in the analysis of life situations. (To do this, we will divide into two groups: parents and teachers)

IV. Questions to analyze and find solutions during the discussion:

  1. (for parents) Your child has always studied well. He showed particular interest in the humanities: foreign language, literature, history, social studies. And suddenly he becomes uninterested in studying. He came to the conclusion: “The most important thing in life is money.” But they are not in the family anyway, which means there is no education in the future.
  2. (for teachers) You notice that one of your best students, who has good educational results and has won prizes in your subject more than once, suddenly began to show indifference to his studies. Your actions.

CONCLUSIONS on situations.

V. Meeting topic statistics.

Results of statistics - research material among schoolchildren - teenagers (grades 8-11) of Lugovskaya Secondary School

34 students participated in the study.

To the question defining your life goalsout of 34 respondents:

26 answered YES, 8 answered NO;

2. What is needed for the goal to be realized?

a) education – 18 academic years; b) work – 10 lessons; c) be purposeful – 11 lessons; d) pass the Unified State Exam – 1 academic year

3 . What role do students who perform well in all subjects play in your studies?

A) I don’t care – 8 students

B) I’m glad that such diligent students study with me – 14 students

C) guys like these inspire me – 12th student

D) they irritate me - no

4. What is your reaction to a student who is performing poorly?

a) I don’t care about him – 24 students

b) he annoys me - 1 student

c) I like such students – 5 students

d) I want to help him – 4 students

VI. Class teacher: Some psychological research

Psychology researcher, sociologist, psychologist Igor Semyonovich Kon notes that the number of children concerned about their present “I” in adolescence and adolescence is almost the same, and at the age of 15-16 the concern for their future “I” sharply increases. He also notes that it doesn't come easy for everyone. According to another psychologist Erik Erikson, during adolescence, a child experiences the need to stop time. Psychologically, this means a return to a childhood state, when time did not yet exist in experience and was not perceived consciously. There are young people who do not want to think about the future at all, postponing all difficult questions and important decisions for “later.” According to the psychologist, such an attitude (usually unconscious) with its fun and carelessness is not only socially harmful, but also dangerous for the individual himself. Huge problems arise for high school students when trying to combine short-term and long-term perspectives.
In addition to all these psychological difficulties, in our country there are also those that are caused by the difficult social situation today, against the background of which our children are developing. All this together forms the main basis of the problems of our children’s adolescence.

Having analyzed pedagogical situations, having understood all the complexities of the psychological development of children of our age, let's try to answer the questions.

Parents group:How can a parent help get a child interested in learning?

Teacher group:What should school teachers do in this direction?

VII.CONCLUSIONS:

So, we found out that in any case, at first it is useful to simply tell children about the important role that goals, ideas about the future, etc. play in a person’s life, in the development of his personality.
Now there are many books, articles in magazines and newspapers containing recipes that will help you become famous, succeed in life, and finally be happy. And everywhere, in the top three most important - “define your life goal”:
- Follow strictly to your goal. Learn to find it.
- Don't indulge in fruitless dreams.
- Develop specific plans for the future, etc. and so on.
Perhaps the most radical position on this issue is offered by Maxwell Moltz. Moltz’s famous “psychocybernetics” is based on the following thesis: “The human brain and the entire nervous system act purposefully, in accordance with the principle of achieving personal goals.”

So how to answer the most important and most, oddly enough, difficult question - what do you want? How to learn to formulate your goals? How to fix this in your mind?The short answer is this: you need to dream, but do it very focused.

VIII. Video recording of children on the issue “Life goals of adolescents”

Memo for parents

Your child is growing up, along with his physical maturation comes mental maturation, intellectual potential and social intelligence are formed. The extent to which the family perceives a teenager as a thinking person determines the degree of his social maturation.

  1. Talk with your son or daughter, talk to them about your immediate life plans and future life goals.
  2. Talk about your plans, your victories and failures in their implementation.
  3. Support your child's healthy ambition.
  4. Do not be ironic about unrealistic plans, stimulate in him the desire to prove to himself and others the ability to achieve his goal.
  5. Form a morally healthy personality, incapable of meanness for the sake of realizing life plans.
  6. Create a situation of success, maintain vitality and faith in success.
  7. Tell your child the truth, no matter how bitter it may be, teach him to save his strength to achieve his goal.
  8. Be an example to your child; the saddest thing is if the teenager becomes disappointed in your vitality.

I would like to end our meeting with a statement from the hero of Hermann Hesse’s story “Demian. The Story of Youth, written by Emile Sinclair”: “The life of every person is a path to himself, an attempt at a path, a hint of a path. Everyone, as best he can..., rushes towards his own own purpose."

Striving for a goal in life in itself is meaningless. It is important what the goal leads to, what values are brought to life. There are goals - dreams that everybody wants

, and there is little benefit from achieving them. And even more so, there is no point in putting them on – they don’t motivate.

Look at this list of goals on the MYTH blog: Such goals give rise to flawed motivation

.

You can’t set goals like that. You can get crazy when you reach them, or it’s not at all clear why someone needs them in the present tense.

The goals that we set for ourselves should develop us, bring us experience, increased awareness and personal responsibility.

And don’t send him to a mental hospital, intensive care unit or a cemetery. Vital goals are those the pursuit of which will develop us

.

Expand our capabilities, increase our sense of happiness, improve our psyche and relationships with others.

The world needs a hundred space explorers. If someone truly aspires to be an astronaut, go ahead! Better is a happy, wise, responsible person, and at the same time also our messenger from the Earth.

What an astronaut is - unhappy, scared, training and tormenting himself, only because he is not ready to love himself and understand his desires.

I am not against struggle and “achievement”, but struggle especially with oneself should not be meaningless.

There's no need for a dummy in a spacesuit taking a selfie with the Earth in the background. The main vital goal of a person is to be healthy physically and psychologically.

.

There are not so many people who are confident, have positive self-esteem, know their worth and are able to realize their desires.

They are able to set a goal in life, to take on the solution of a vital problem for all humanity.

We offer examples that lead to personal development, to the acquisition of experience, and to the expansion of ideas about oneself and the universe.

It is advisable to have something else behind these goals, but they will already develop you if you decide to achieve them.

A man's life goals

Business is the main goal to which a man devotes his time. Idle, he is incompetent.
Ideally, this is some kind of enterprise with a humanistic idea, aimed at helping and developing other people.

It is vital for masculine nature to explore the world, seize territories (markets), compete with others, promote new goods and services.

By realizing his undertaking, a man realizes himself in this world. Business is the second face of a real man..

One of the most important goals in a man’s life is his BUSINESS

  1. List of examples of goals for a man and a guy for 5–10 years:
  2. Explore business management methods from your own experience.
  3. Set 50 intermediate or medium-term goals and achieve them.
  4. Develop the company to a turnover of $1 million
  5. Create a service that makes life easier for other men.

Become an expert in your specialty.

The most important goals of a woman

A woman is not obliged to earn money for her family. This is a man's concern. A woman can also do business. The main thing is that this does not become her main job.

She can do her own thing for the soul, but remain true to her feminine nature.

  1. A woman’s vital goals are in the following areas:
  2. relationships, beauty, home comfort, giving love to the world, spiritual practices.
  3. Family and caring for children are the most important thing for a woman. This makes her happier.
  4. Examples of girls’ long-term life goals:
  5. Become a spiritual midwife. Popularize “Natural Childbirth”.
  6. Open a psychological assistance center.
  7. Help other women, build harmonious relationships.

Inspire a man to achieve feats in his business.

How to write your 50 goals in life - answer

Keep lists of example goals and ideas. Introduce all sorts of different dreams and goals.

Break down your goals into categories: short-term (up to 1 month), medium-term (1 year) and long-term (2-5 years). When you have accumulated 50 or more goals, re-sort them and add important ones to your list of goals for the year.

I keep lists on Evernote and in a notepad.

To determine your goals, we recommend the exercise “50 goals and 50 desires”.

First you need to determine the range of your desires and begin to realize them. Then, where you most want to continue working - look for a more global goal. The ideal is to look for a problem, a need of humanity, and satisfy it.

Formulate not just selfish goals in life, but also those aimed at benefiting people.

The goal of “Becoming a famous chef” will not bring as much satisfaction as organizing a children's center.

It is important to understand that the presence of a system of value orientations already indicates a mature personality. Personal values determine our internal readiness to perform certain activities and indicate the direction of our development. To put it in simpler words, the value system for a person is a certain vector of his development. The value world of every person is vast. However, there are certain “basic” values that determine activities in the main ones.

Life values do not arise overnight. They are the result of our life experiences. Significant events in our lives, books, films, teachers, etc. play a huge role in this. Life values can change over time. There is nothing more permanent than temporary. At 15 you have one set of values, at 30 you have different values. Each person's values are individual, like fingerprints. The coincidence of the main life values strengthens relationships between people, which is very important in modern society.

Understanding your main life values is a very important thing. If you live a long and difficult life, and at the end you understand that such a life was not interesting, then it will be too late to change anything... If, on the contrary, you know well what you want from life, what is truly for you dear, every day of your well-structured life will be filled with meaning.

2 types of life values and 3 types of people

In general, there are a large number of values, but all of them can be divided into two large groups: material and spiritual.

- We can include material assets: an apartment, a car, a garage, jewelry, books, musical instruments, sports equipment, food, clothes, etc.;

- to the spiritual: active life, life wisdom, love, responsibility, beauty, mercy, justice, self-improvement, freedom, beauty, health, knowledge, etc.

Depending on the created value system, each person can be classified into one of 3 groups:
- materialists;
- spiritual people;
- spiritual materialists.

I wonder which group you belong to?! Now stop reading for a minute and think. In which direction are your main development vectors directed? Toward the material? Or maybe towards the spiritual? Or both! Personally, I belong to the 3rd group. I am a spiritual materialist. But 5 years ago I was an inveterate materialist. Understanding the 7 areas of life helped me become more balanced and start living.

The value system of modern man, unfortunately, is similar to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, which is skewed in one direction. You ask where? Towards material values. Everyone simply froze in materiality, like blocks of stone. You can touch, see, buy material values, and they all depend on the time in which a person lives. For example, 300 years ago there were no cars and that means there was no value in them either. Now you’re just thinking about how to make money on a cool Mercedes. Imagine that Jesus walked around the Holy Land and just had a blast without an iPhone 7S! There are now 60% materialists, and every day there are fewer and fewer of them.

There are much fewer spiritual people. 30% percent. A person pays attention to spiritual values after 40-45 years. Wisdom comes, you begin to value health, you show more love for the world around you, freedom and creativity appear in life. You think more about God and life in general. The time for inner philosophy is coming. I want to be silent more and even be alone. But many become so absorbed in spirituality that they forget about the material side. Most of the great Creators were poor. “Creativity and freedom are important to me, but money doesn’t bother me”—only a person whose life values are directed only towards the spiritual world can say this. And this is also a certain imbalance that needs to be eliminated. The faster the better.

Only spiritual materialists can be harmonious. In their value system, both are important. Personal development should be based on two types of values. Spiritual and material are two sides of the same coin. There is no need to deny one or the other. You need to connect, and then a powerful inner force will appear that can work wonders. One only helps the other. They don't interfere. What would happen if I had to ride a unicycle. You can drive, but the speed will not be the same. And the speed of development of your personality is very important in life. There are approximately 10% of spiritual materialists. And there should be much more! We must create new life on our new planet Earth!

7 of my main spiritual values

Health– this is the basis of life. One of the most important values. We begin to value health when “problems” begin in the body. Until that time, we drink, smoke, and it’s unclear what we eat. Other values are probably even impossible without good health. This is difficult to explain to the younger generation. They have their own values. Give time to your health first.

Time is an invaluable resource. It cannot be bought, exchanged, or sold. They give you 70-100 years to realize your potential. You watch TV series day and night. Maybe you shouldn't have come to this planet? Watch the movie "Time". The main resource there is time, not money. We turned everything upside down, chasing green pieces of paper.

Love- This is generally the basis of the universe. The magnet that connects everything. Love for yourself, loved ones, nature, your favorite business, life in general. Without a feeling of love, a person cannot be harmonious. Few people now have true Unconditional Love. My opinion is that many people say the word “love”, but do not fully understand what it is. Be grateful and loved.

Knowledge– this is the basis of your development. Previously, knowledge was difficult to obtain. People traveled to the other side of the world to get it. Now there is the Internet. This is a great benefit that was created to unite all knowledge. Many people again do not understand this. They give it to you, you don't take it. You think you know everything. Not at all…

Development– this is the basis for your freedom. Everything develops, everything grows, everything blooms. You probably like the smell of blooming roses. A scent that cannot be enjoyed. Only at a certain point a person stops developing. It does not reach its flowering stage. Flowering of your life. It ruins your potential.

Liberty is the basis for creativity. You have free will to create. You are free to make any choice. Your life is your choice. And only you are responsible for your choice. Real life begins when you are fully aware of your freedom. But in life, people often become slaves, forgetting this value. Working for my uncle takes up my whole life.

Creation is the ability of your Spirit. You have forgotten that you are the Creator. You think that only God can create. You are part of him, and he is part of you. You are one. A drop of water is no different in composition from the entire ocean. Same composition, same properties. It's hard to understand. To be a spiritual person means to be creative.

These are my main values in life. For you, they may not be the main thing at all. I will recommend doing one exercise that will allow you to create your own value system in life. Take a blank sheet of paper, a pen and write down everything that you value most in life. The list must contain at least 100 values. Then go through this list and cross out the least important ones so that 50 remain. Those 7-9 life values that will remain at the end and will be the most important for you.

Now think about whether you devote most of your time and energy to these values. If it turns out that you are constantly busy with others, then you are more likely to serve other people’s values or those values that are not first on the list. Exercise not life values will help change your life! The main values in life are called the main ones because they are our beacons and allow us to make sure that we are moving in the right direction.

Each person has his own main goal in life to which he strives. Or even several goals. They can change throughout life: losing their importance, some are removed, and others, more relevant, appear in their place. How many of these goals should there be?

John Goddard's Life Success

Successful people claim that 50 human life goals is not the maximum. The longer your list of goals, the better you will be able to understand your true desires.

For example, John Goddard, at the age of fifteen, set himself not even 50 vital, main goals that he sought to achieve, but 127! For the uninitiated, a note: we are talking about a researcher, anthropologist, traveler, holder of scientific degrees, Member of the Society of French Explorers, the Royal Geographical Society and the Archaeological Society, multiple record holder of the Guinness Book of Records.

On his half-century anniversary, John celebrated 100 of the 127 goals he had set. One can only envy his rich life.

Goals to avoid shame and pain

A happy person is called accomplished and successful. No one will call a loser happy - success is a component of happiness. Almost everyone remembers Ostrovsky’s famous phrase from “How I Became Tempered” about how to live my life. The end of the quote is especially striking: “So that it doesn’t hurt excruciatingly...” So that at the end of your life you don’t feel pain and shame for wasted time, you need to set goals for yourself today.

To consider life successful, a person must achieve 50 of the most important life goals in old age. Summing up his life, a person compares what he dreamed of with what he achieved. But it happens that over the years it is difficult to remember many of your desires and goals, so it is difficult to make comparisons. This is why it is so important to write 50 most important goals in life on a piece of paper and periodically re-read the list.

Another important aspect is to try to write it down. This means that your goals must meet five important criteria: specific, measurable, relevant, achievable, and time-bound.

Human needs

Before making a list, you should understand what is priority and vital for a person. Air, drink, food, sleep - the 4 most important needs of organic life. The second row comes health, housing, clothing, sex, recreation - necessary attributes of life, but secondary. Unlike animals, humans tend not just to satisfy the basic needs of life; they want to do this while receiving aesthetic pleasure.

It is impossible for a person to live without satisfying primary needs, and without satisfying secondary needs it is difficult. Therefore, if at least one link in this chain is destroyed, the person suffers physically, firstly, morally, secondly. He's unhappy. But even if all the vital needs of an individual are satisfied, his life cannot be called happy. This is such a paradox.

Therefore, the 50 vitally important, priority goals of a person must necessarily include points, through the implementation of which the primary and secondary needs of a person would be satisfied.

Adding to the list such goals as “buying your own house” or “relaxing at sea”, “doing the necessary medical operation” or “getting your teeth treated and inserted”, “buying a fur coat” and “buying a car” may not be so important for complete happiness ( why - will be discussed below), but achieving them makes living on earth more comfortable for people. To satisfy these needs and achieve the goals listed above, an individual needs money. And, when selecting the 50 most important goals of a person, the list must include an item regarding the financial condition of the individual. Examples of such goals:

  • find a high-paying job;
  • open your own business;
  • ensure that the business generates a net income of more than $10,000 per month, and the like.

Demand as the main component of happiness

In addition, for complete happiness of an individual, something else is necessary. And this “something” is called recognition. Only when in demand does a person feel his importance, pleasure, and happiness. Each person has their own criteria for recognition. For some, a simple “thank you” for preparing dinner is enough. Others feel a feeling of complete happiness from the manifestations of tenderness of a sexual partner - this is recognition, the identification of an individual among all others.

For some, it is enough to bring sterile cleanliness to the house and hear words of admiration from their neighbors, while others need to see delight in the eyes of those they meet when they see their appearance, figure, outfit, hairstyle. For others, it is important to recognize them as excellent parents. For the fourth, recognition on a broader level is necessary. These fourth people do not limit the circle of people with whom they want to be recognized: relatives, loved ones, neighbors, fellow travelers, passers-by.

These are scientists, pioneers, major businessmen, creative people and a number of other professions. The most successful are people who receive recognition both from their loved ones, friends, children, neighbors, and from colleagues, fans, viewers, readers - a wider circle of people. It is important to add the appropriate items to the list of “50 goals in my life.” Examples of such goals could be:

  • find your soul mate to create a family, who (who) will be such and such, for whom I will feel respect, love (passion), feelings must be reciprocated;
  • help my son successfully finish school;
  • give children higher education;
  • defend a thesis;
  • release your own collection of stories (disc of songs) or organize an exhibition of paintings.

Intermediate goals

Achieving global goals requires actions to help move forward. Therefore, you need to write intermediate goals related to advanced training, education, and acquisition of skills. And in the list of “50 human life goals,” examples of these could be:

  • read the collected works of Dostoevsky;
  • reading manuals for businessmen, authored by John Rockefeller (for example, “Success”;
  • studying the life stories and paths to success of major figures of science and culture;
  • studying of foreign language;
  • obtaining a second education.

This list can be continued at your own discretion, based on the main goals.

Goals-motivators

To achieve the main goals, incentives are needed that occupy the position of intermediate goals. They are included in the list by designating; “50 intermediate human life goals”. The list of these goals includes the following items:

  • go on a trip around the world;
  • buy a new laptop;
  • make repairs in the apartment;
  • update your wardrobe for the new season.

Some may write the items “to have facial plastic surgery” or “to perform abdominoplasty.” After all, for many, improving their appearance is a hidden desire, which they are sometimes ashamed of. But when compiling a list of motivating goals, you must definitely write down those that will give a person pleasure in life. These goals do not have important life needs, but without joy and pleasure a person languishes, he is bored with life, and the meaning of achieving his main goals is lost.

Charity is the most important human goal

Studying the path to success of John Rockefeller, everyone sees: he is a philanthropist. Donating a tenth of profits to charity is the main rule of his life. According to psychologists, helping people is useful and extremely pleasant. Therefore, in the “50 vital goals”, when compiling a list, you should include points relating to this aspect of life. By doing charity, a person enjoys receiving recognition.
