Itching due to kidney disease. Skin manifestations of kidney disease Kidney irritation

Many diseases of the urinary system have a common symptom - a burning sensation in the kidney area, which is the result of irritation of the kidney mucosa.

Why does burning occur?

The burning sensation is caused for many different reasons:

  • Urolithiasis disease.
  • Diseases of the urethra.
  • Infectious lesion.
  • Cyst.
  • Malignant tumor growth.

Causes of burning in the kidneys due to urolithiasis

The formation of kidney stones is caused by metabolic disorders. Predisposes to inflammation in the paired organ. The risk of stone enlargement increases due to impaired urine acidity. The outflow of urine is disrupted, which causes stagnation, and the risk of disease increases. The presence of stones is also found in the ureters, causing stagnation of urine, which clogs the lumen of the ureter.

Additional signs are aching pain accompanied by spasms. If the stone moves, it damages the mucous membranes, a burning sensation occurs in the kidneys, and pain is also characteristic. Enlargement of stones causes colic. Paroxysmal renal colic occurs due to hypothermia, sports, and heavy lifting.

Inflammatory processes

Kidney inflammations include:

  • Pyelonephritis. Bacterial inflammatory kidney disease. In addition to a strong burning sensation, there is a high temperature, swelling of the face, nausea, dark urine, blood in the urine.
  • Glomerulonephritis. Main signs: burning in the kidney area, urine color changes, severe swelling of the face, the amount of urine released decreases, and there is an increase in blood pressure (BP).

Cyst

The neoplasm occurs in adulthood. A cyst appears if there is a free cavity. In the presence of several nodes, polycystic disease develops. The disease can affect one kidney or two at the same time.

Stomach ulcer

With gastric ulcers, a burning sensation in the kidney area appears after a heavy meal, and burning pain can also be observed with sudden movements.

Cancerous lesion

Neoplasms of the urinary system provoke a failure in the process of urine outflow, and a strong burning sensation is felt in the kidney area.

The outflow of urine may be blocked as the tumor grows, the patient feels pain in the lumbar region

Diagnostics

It is very difficult to determine renal pathology based on its symptoms; this requires serious research. However, having some information, the patient himself can assume the presence of pathology in his body:

  • The appearance of renal colic early in the morning after sleep indicates inflammatory processes.
  • If pain appears in the area of the paired organ after lifting weights or playing sports, you should think about kidney disease.
  • If you experience pain, itching in the area of the right kidney or left kidney, which appears and disappears, renal colic can be assumed.
  • In a person suffering from kidney pathology, the skin has a grayish tint.

To identify the cause of the burning sensation, contact a urologist who will prescribe tests. Ultrasound is used to detect inflammation, cysts, and stones. X-ray of the organ to determine the size and location of stones. A laboratory test of urine is also necessary to determine the presence of salt sediment. Analysis of urine bacteriology gives a real picture of the presence of the causative agent of kidney disease.

Treatment of the syndrome

After the diagnosis is established, the patient is prescribed conservative therapy:

  • Urolithiasis is accompanied by severe pain. To relieve unpleasant symptoms, antispasmodics are used: No-shpa, Drotaverine.
  • It is also necessary to correctly prescribe a medicine that has the ability to dissolve small stones and remove sand.

Pain syndrome requires qualified examination

It is possible to prescribe surgical treatment methods if the size of the kidney stone exceeds 4 cm. The inflammatory process occurs when bacteria enter the urinary system, causing the disease. One of the factors is often hypothermia. The disease is treated with antibacterial drugs. When treating a cyst, it is necessary to take into account the size of the tumor.

In the presence of small nodes, puncture is used to eliminate the liquid composition. For large cysts, surgical treatment is used.

Traditional medicine recipes

The kidneys are a very vulnerable organ. Poor quality nutrition, contaminated water, infections, and medications supplied to the kidneys for cleansing reduce their level of functioning, which leads to the occurrence of pathologies. Medicines according to traditional medicine recipes help restore the functioning of the organ.

Kidney cleansers

The body's main filter needs periodic cleansing. It is best to use vegetables and fruits that have diuretic properties: watermelon, melon, cucumber, raspberries, currants.

In winter, you need to drink decoctions of flax seeds, shepherd's purse, rose hips, and elderberries. Plants have an advantage over medications, since they do not contribute to the leaching of potassium and reduce the protein level in urine.

To improve the body’s main filter, you need to add parsley and celery to your food. To maintain the blood purification function, crushed juniper berries are consumed.

Anti-inflammatory recipes

In this case, it is best to use oats and bearberry. Inflammation in the kidneys most often goes away along with cystitis. In this case, irritation is relieved by tea made from yarrow and birch buds.

For pyelonephritis, therapy with traditional methods should be aimed at removing fluid from the body

To remove the stones

When sand and small stones are detected, diuretic herbs prevent stagnation of urine, since when its outflow increases, salts do not precipitate, which prevents the formation of stones. The diuretic collection must include:

  • Knotweed.
  • Nettle.
  • Birch leaves.
  • Parsley.
  • Rose hip.

Prevention

To avoid having to treat the body's main filter, you must take the advice of a doctor. Minimize salty, smoked, spicy foods. Fatty foods are harmful to the body in large quantities, but it cannot be completely eliminated. When eating only low-fat foods, the kidneys may become loose due to the lack of fat in them, which is constantly washed away by liquid.

Eat more foods containing vitamin A, which helps remove toxins from the organ. Regulate the amount of fluid entering and exiting the body. You need to spend enough time on the move. Avoid hypothermia.

The buds are hardworking and inconspicuous. They do their work quietly, unlike the same heart, which makes itself known with a pulse and beating in our chest. We only remember that we have kidneys when we want to go to the toilet. The silence of the kidneys is even more pronounced than we think.

Features of the manifestation of renal pathology

Most organs of our body have a mass of nerve endings that, like ultra-sensitive sensors, report the current state of affairs directly to the brain. And if something goes wrong, an alarm goes off, which we feel in the form of pain.

The kidneys are a parenchymal organ. This means that they consist of identical functional elements, held together by special connective tissue. All this equipment is securely packaged in a capsule. A feature of parenchymal organs is that sensitive nerve endings do not penetrate inside them, reaching only the capsule. This nuance means that there is no “signaling” inside the kidneys that could instantly report the presence of a pathological process. It’s not for nothing that the kidneys are called a “silent organ” - they don’t hurt.

The structural unit of the kidney is the nephron. The number of nephrons in one kidney is 1-1.5 million. The total length of the nephrons of both kidneys can reach 100 kilometers - this is the length of the “filtration channels” of our body.

What about specific lower back pain? It is explained as follows: when kidney disease has triggered processes that cause inflammation and swelling, the renal parenchyma swells, increasing in size, and stretches the capsule. Nerve endings react to the stretching of the renal capsule and begin to transmit pain impulses upward. To summarize, we can feel painful sensations or problems below the kidneys (in the ureters, bladder or urethra), or problems in the kidneys themselves, but they have already gone quite far.

Despite the reluctance of the kidneys to tell us about their troubles, medicine knows how to reveal their secrets. Now we will talk a little about the diagnostic process for kidney diseases.

At-risk groups

Most often, renal pathology occurs in people with weak immunity and frequent infectious diseases, especially such as tonsillitis, scarlet fever or otitis media.

Kidney diseases are promoted by hereditary predisposition (if blood relatives had or have similar problems), poor material and living conditions (poor quality food with questionable products, cold rooms, drafts, working outside) and chronic intoxication with lead or mercury, which is observed in some industries.

Also at risk from the kidneys are patients with tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus, osteomyelitis and systemic rheumatoid diseases. Sometimes it can begin during pregnancy against the background of a weakened mother’s body.

Nature of the pain syndrome

If the kidneys have already begun to signal pain, then it would be useful to clarify its nature. When the process develops gradually and is chronic, the pain will be nagging, dull and mildly pronounced. This happens with pyelo- and glomerulonephritis. To distinguish the first from the second, in addition to other symptoms, it will help to clarify whether the pain is one- or two-sided, respectively - glomerulonephritis is of an autoimmune nature, and therefore affects both kidneys at once. If the inflammatory process develops quickly, being acute, the capsule stretches quickly, without having time to “get used to” and adapt, and therefore transmits much more intense pain impulses.

If severe acute pain occurs in any of the kidneys, then this is definitely a reason to call an ambulance - the range of possible causes can vary from ordinary renal colic (we covered this topic more fully in materials on kidney stones) to kidney infarction. In such cases, the impulse comes not only from the capsule, but also from overstretching of the urinary tract, which has many nerve endings. In this case, thrombosis of one of the arteries that brings blood to the organ also adds fuel to the fire.

The patient’s behavior will also help to distinguish pain from renal colic and pain from the inflammatory process. In the first case, he is restless, rushes about, tries to find a comfortable position, but this does not work - the pain is uneven, spastic, depending on the change in the position of the stone, which can sometimes move regardless of the patient’s posture. In the second case, the patient tries to lie quietly - with inflammatory diseases, the pain always intensifies with movement.

Properties of urine

If the urine is red or pink, then this is an alarming signal that indicates that blood has somehow gotten into it. The reasons for this can be either minor (inflammation) or of varying levels of severity - from stones that injure the mucous membrane of the urinary tract to malignant tumors that destroy blood vessels. Therefore, if your urine turns red or pink, if you have not eaten beets or taken amidopyrine, you should immediately consult a doctor.

White urine may indicate pathologies of other organs, some of which lead to kidney damage - for example, diabetes mellitus. Therefore, here, too, you need to keep your eyes open. Unless, of course, you drank too much liquid or took diuretics, which discolors the urine.

In addition to color, you should also pay attention to transparency - normally, urine should not be cloudy. Turbidity may indicate the presence of unwanted impurities. Bacteria, leukocytes or even pus may be present in inflammatory processes at various levels of localization - from the kidneys to the lowest parts of the urethra. Sometimes the first morning portion of urine becomes cloudy if hygiene rules are not followed. Transparency also decreases in the presence of a large amount of salts, which in this case, as a rule, are deposited in the kidneys or bladder in the form of stones. In addition to salts, turbidity can be caused by a protein that appears as a result of filtration pathology in the kidneys.

The smell of urine is quite specific and everyone knows it. If a sharp ammonia tint appears in the “bouquet”, bacteria are most likely multiplying and inflammation is occurring.

Characteristics of urination: amount, pain and frequency

An alarm bell is an increase in the amount of urine excreted (polyuria), especially if there is a need to run to the toilet at night. This happens in a number of kidney pathologies, when the reabsorption of water from primary urine is impaired. The next stage is further, deeper damage to the glomeruli, in which filtration occurs, and then the amount of urine decreases sharply until it disappears completely. Naturally, it is advisable not to wait until such a stage of renal failure occurs, contacting a doctor immediately as soon as you notice that urination is higher than normal for several days. Polyuria may indicate both kidney damage and more serious systemic disease processes.

The normal amount of urine is 1-1.5 liters per day.

If a patient experiences pain or difficulty while urinating, this usually indicates either an inflammatory lesion of the urinary tract below the kidney (inflamed mucous membrane irritates the nerve endings), or stones in the bladder, or in men, prostate adenoma, which compresses the urethra.

If the urge to urinate more often than usual, and the amount of urine is large, then most likely there is kidney damage, and if there is little urine, then most often we are dealing with cystitis. Naturally, both should not be ignored by the doctor.

Other patient complaints

If the kidneys do not do their job well, harmful substances begin to accumulate in the body, causing intoxication. The first victim of toxins is the brain. Patients begin to complain of decreased ability to work, weakness and fatigue. If there is an inflammatory process, the temperature may rise, and if the regulatory system, in which the kidneys play an important role, fails, a headache occurs.

Intoxication adversely affects the gastrointestinal tract - loss of appetite, nausea, and sometimes even vomiting. With polyuria, patients are also thirsty.

The body is a complex system, and if the excretory function of the kidneys suffers, then other organs, such as the lungs and skin, try to remove harmful substances. Naturally, they are not adapted to large volumes of such work, which leads to their defeat. On the part of the skin, due to the accumulation of toxins, itching appears, and on the part of the lungs - cough and shortness of breath. If such patients are not helped in time, everything can end in death from intoxication.

The state of intoxication with a decrease in the filtration function of the kidneys is called uremia.

Inspection

The first thing that attracts attention when examining nephrology patients is this. The mechanism of their occurrence differs from that of cardiac edema. In the latter case, the heart physically cannot pump blood through the circulatory system in the required volume, and due to the resulting stagnation, some of the water migrates into the tissues. Such swelling appears where it is most difficult to pump out blood - these are the legs, starting with the feet.

When the kidneys are damaged, protein goes into the urine. The physical properties of the blood change, and it cannot retain the required amount of water, which migrates into looser tissue around the vessels - it is easier to “escape” there. Therefore, renal edema begins in the face, especially in the eyelids, giving the patient a specific puffy appearance. If the disease progresses, swelling begins to spread throughout the body.

The skin of kidney patients is usually pale, dry, and scratches in case of itching; if the patient has a fever, it is hot to the touch.

Sometimes there may be some swelling or redness over the affected kidney, but this is rare.

Identifying hidden inflammation can be helped by determining the so-called. Pasternatsky's symptom. To do this, you need to place your palm over the lumbar region in the area of the kidney and lightly tap it with a rib or the fist of your other hand. If there is inflammation, then the tapping will give off a weak dull pain inside.

We have just listed signs that may indicate a kidney problem. If you notice something from this opera in yourself, one of your friends or relatives, then you should not hesitate to see a doctor, because your kidneys need to be treated on time, when this is still possible. In the later stages, everything ends in hemodialysis at best, and death at worst.

Video about kidney physiology

Kidney diseases often affect the functioning of the entire body, because the main task of this organ is to remove toxic metabolic products that can negatively affect vital processes. You can learn more about the functions of the kidneys in the human body.

The kidneys are a paired organ through which blood passes every second through the glomerular apparatus. It is in it that it is “cleaned” from all toxins and unnecessary components. If it is disrupted, then the toxins do not completely enter the urine, but spread through the bloodstream through the vascular bed, reaching the tissues of the brain, heart, etc.

You can learn more about the structure of the kidneys from.

Kidney diseases occupy one of the leading positions among all pathological processes encountered in medical practice. Most often, the clinical picture of these diseases is quite vivid, especially if both organs are affected at once.

Symptoms of kidney disease can occur in patients of any age and gender. They are widespread throughout the world, therefore they are a pressing problem in modern medicine. About the features of kidney diseases in men.

Classification of kidney diseases

Before you begin to study the main diseases, you need to familiarize yourself with the criteria for the classification of kidney diseases, as well as what exactly pathological processes there are.

Unfortunately, there is no generally accepted classification. This is due to the fact that the range of possible kidney diseases is so wide that they cannot be combined by common criteria.

Kidney damage threatens the patient with disruption of the functioning of many organs and systems of the whole body.

In a simplified version, the list of kidney diseases is as follows:

  1. (diseases affecting the glomerular apparatus of one or both kidneys). They can be congenital and acquired, as well as inflammatory and non-inflammatory in origin. These include different forms and, renal and, etc.
  2. (diseases affecting tubular structures). They are divided into congenital and acquired, as well as obstructive and necrotizing (depending on the pathological processes that dominate the renal tubules). These include congenital enzymopathies (for example,) and others.
  3. Diseases of the stromal component(interstitium). First of all, we are talking about different forms.
  4. Diseases affecting large and small vessels of the kidneys(atherosclerosis, thrombosis or embolism, aneurysms and others).
  5. . Signs of kidney disease due to a congenital defect usually appear at an early age. These include: additional kidney, organ and others.
  6. . External influence on the kidney can cause diseases such as rupture of the renal capsule, and in severe cases, complete crushing of the organ.
  7. in the structures of the kidney. They can be benign (fibroma, and others) or malignant (for example, sarcoma) of origin.

A decrease in the size of the kidney and a sharp decrease in its functions are the causes of renal failure (the organ “turns off” from functioning)

Main causes of kidney disease

Among the main reasons that can become a “impetus” for the onset of certain pathological processes in the tissues of one or both kidneys, the following should be highlighted:

Tumor growths or other space-occupying formations in the kidneys are increasingly encountered in medical practice

Symptoms

Symptoms of kidney disease depend on the underlying cause that led to the disruption of kidney function. Below we will look at the most common diseases, as well as the main methods for diagnosing them.

Inflammatory changes in one or both kidneys are called “pyelonephritis” in medicine. The disease is associated with exposure to infectious agents and can occur at different ages, including kidney damage possible during pregnancy ().

The disease is characterized by the following main symptoms:

  • pain of varying severity on the side of the affected organ (caused by stretching of the renal capsule), which has the same intensity throughout the day and does not decrease when taking a comfortable position;
  • increases, all symptoms of intoxication are observed (apathy, fatigue, malaise, loss of appetite, etc.);
  • The color of the urinary sediment changes (it becomes, traces of or are visible in it).

Type of kidney with pyelonephritis

Diagnosis of the disease consists of blood and urine tests ( and ). Also, all patients are prescribed an X-ray examination (and), as well as.

When the inflammatory process in the kidneys affects the glomerular apparatus, we are talking about glomerulonephritis, which comes in a variety of morphological forms. The pathological process is based on autoimmune processes and the formation of antibodies against the own tissues of both kidneys.

Signs of kidney disease with glomerulonephritis are as follows:

  • the patient has aching in the lumbar region on one or both sides;
  • patients begin to complain of constant and causeless pain on the face and eyelids, which are most intense in the morning (immediately after waking up);
  • a previously healthy person experiences sudden surges in blood pressure, sometimes to very high values;
  • if the process is not treated in time, fluid begins to accumulate in the cavities of the body (pleura, pericardium and others);
  • pathological components appear in the urine (both in large quantities and others).

Anatomical and physiological features of the kidneys against the background of glomerulonephritis

Diagnosing the disease is not always easy. In addition to general clinical examinations of blood and urine, X-rays are performed and, if necessary, prescribed.

Patients are examined for the level of immune complexes in the blood serum, and also undergo a kidney biopsy and histological examination of the obtained material (for the purpose of morphological diagnosis).

Urolithiasis disease

Based on the name of the disease, it becomes clear that the disease is based on the formation of stones (calculi) in the kidneys or other structures of the urinary tract (most often the bladder). You can read more about the types of kidney stones.

Symptoms of the disease can be observed already in childhood, or the first symptoms of the process appear a little later. In adults, the disease develops less rapidly than in children and is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • constant aching pain in the lower back or abdomen that does not have a clear localization (in the patient, only one kidney may initially become ill, but soon another organ is involved in the process);
  • appetite decreases, fatigue and general weakness increase;
  • as it develops, dry mouth and swelling appear, blood pressure rises, and general well-being worsens;
  • In urine tests, persistent erythrocyturia and cylindruria are observed (if a secondary infection occurs, then numerous and appear).

Patients suffering from polycystic disease require constant hemodialysis (cleaning the blood of toxins and toxic substances)

Diagnosis of polycystic kidney disease consists of instrumental examination (preference is given to modern methods such as MRI or kidney).

Oncological processes

Do not forget that often the cause of kidney damage is tumor processes of benign or malignant origin. As a rule, the first symptoms of the disease appear when the size of the cancer lesion reaches quite large sizes.

These include:

  • unmotivated loss of “vitality”, constant feeling of fatigue and sweating at night;
  • weight loss in a short period of time (without any food restrictions);
  • progressive deterioration in general health;
  • periodic nagging pain in the lumbar region or abdomen on one side, which becomes permanent;
  • disturbance of urination (for example, an attack of renal colic when a blood clot escapes from the tumor focus), etc.

You can find out more about the symptoms of kidney cancer.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to detect a tumor in the early stages, since it does not make itself felt for a long time

Diagnosis of the pathological process is very extensive, so it is necessary to determine not only the main source of the disease, but also to track possible metastases. For this purpose, patients undergo an ultrasound of the kidneys, pelvic organs and abdominal cavity, x-rays of the urinary system, as well as (the patient is injected intravenously with a special drug that is sensitive to tumor cells) and others.

Management of patients with kidney diseases

The consumption of salt is limited as much as possible (especially when it comes to patients with chronic renal failure), it is recommended to add only a little salt to ready-made food

Fatty and fried foods, smoked foods, processed foods, carbonated drinks, alcohol, coffee, etc. are excluded from the daily diet. All food should be steamed, baked without oil or boiled. You need to eat small and often (small portions, 4-5 times a day).

You should not refuse to drink liquid, as it helps remove pathogenic microorganisms from the urinary tract. It is necessary to drink at least 2 liters of water (except for patients suffering from renal failure).

Drug therapy

For kidney disease, it is possible to use the following groups of medications, which are prescribed in the form of tablets or injections:

Lingonberries, chamomile flowers, motherwort, flax seeds and others. Learn more about herbs with a diuretic effect.

If the patient’s condition is stable, it is possible to perform microwave, magnetic therapy, ultrasound treatment, etc.

Surgical intervention is required in the case of tumor processes, space-occupying formations, large stones and other emergency situations.

Conclusion

If your kidneys suddenly become ill, or unpleasant symptoms have been bothering you for some time, immediately seek help from a specialist. After all, only a qualified doctor knows how to identify the symptoms of a particular disease, as well as what needs to be done to cure this disease. You can find out which doctor treats kidneys.

Any self-medication at home may not only not have the desired effect, but also worsen your well-being and worsen the future prognosis of the disease.

KIDNEY DISEASES

The kidneys control water by distributing fluid throughout the body, filtering it, and removing “clean” water up and “cloudy” water down, forming urine. However, the possibilities of control by the kidneys are far from unlimited. If a child or adult drinks a lot of water and also likes salty foods, then kidney function is upset. And our body immediately lets us know about this - by forming “bags” under the eyes. Moreover, this applies equally to children and To adults.

With adults, in principle, everything is clear - endless tea parties. Pay attention to how many times you drink tea at home and at work, after work. Hand on heart, admit that in most cases you don’t feel like drinking. Drink it just like that, ritually. I came to work - a glass of tea, a guest came in - a glass of tea.

To be honest, there are quite a few fans of beer among adults, which they often drink with something salty. In the same beer halls, they serve salty food to make you drink more beer: salty food causes increased thirst. Not only does beer itself cause irritation to the kidneys, but salt is also extremely harmful. Firstly, because it carries cold energy into the body, and secondly, it contributes to fluid retention in it. As a result, excessive consumption of tea, as well as beer, has a negative impact on the body.

Now let's analyze the same situation, but in relation to children. As a rule, children do not drink tea, but they love so-called “refreshing drinks.” Moreover, they drink these drinks regardless of the time of year, because they like everything sweet. If you don’t supervise the child, then literally in one sitting the same first-grader can overcome a liter, or even a liter and a half container. And yet, all this happens with the direct connivance of adults, many of whom are unaware that the child is thereby “planting” his kidneys. All such drinks, and even consumed in large quantities, not only represent a significant water load for the child, but are also harmful in that they cause irritation of the kidney tubules (due to the substances included in the extracts on which the drinks are prepared).

However, you can see how harmful such drinks are using the example of Fanta. Try a simple experiment. Find an old coin lying around the house and place it in a glass of this drink for a while. A few hours will pass and the coin will sparkle like new. And if you keep it in this liquid for a few more days, it begins to melt, as it were. These are the drinks they treat us and our children to today!

In addition to “bags” under the eyes, functional abnormalities in the kidneys can also be indicated by disturbances in the rhythm of urination. Typically, the peak activity of the kidneys occurs in the evening (from 17 to 19 hours astronomical time), while at night the kidneys, if they are healthy, rest. If you or your child gets up to go to the toilet at night, it means that not everything is fine with the kidneys. If, in addition, the amount of night urine exceeds the daytime, this means that the kidney disorders are even more serious.

Why do we have to talk about this in such detail? Yes, because the vast majority of parents are not interested in how their children’s kidneys function, taking all this for granted. And if so, then when this happens to them, they are often not at their best - they do not draw any appropriate conclusions regarding their own health.

Another symptom indicates a dysfunction of the renal tubules, although many doctors often do not pay attention to it. Why? Yes, because that's how they were taught. Let me explain what we are talking about. Very often, many adults, and often children themselves, notice how after eating ordinary beets, their urine turns pink. Some frightened parents, thinking that it is blood in the urine, try to get a test done almost on the same day. And what happens in the end? The laboratory writes that the urine test is normal, and thus they do not sin against the truth: after all, beets are not red blood cells. As for functional disorders, a general urine test cannot determine them. As a result, pink urine after beets is perceived as a false alarm. Meanwhile, from my own experience I have long been convinced that such an early signal cannot be neglected.

Poor kidney function is also indicated by aching pain in the lower back, increased fatigue, ringing in the ears, dizziness, and a dark or pale complexion. Children (and adults too, although they don’t particularly advertise it) suffer from a feeling of fear. This fear can have different colors, but it is mainly associated with darkness and gloom, and intensifies at night. That is why such children ask their parents to sit with them until they fall asleep, or demand that the light be left on at night.

Those suffering from one or another kidney disorder can suffer from inflammation of the middle ear dozens of times, and some have impaired hearing. (And how can one not recall the sayings of ancient Chinese healers: “The ears are the foremost guard post for the kidneys and convey to them the sounds they hear. The energy of the kidneys comes to the ears, when the kidneys are healthy, the ears hear...”) Therefore, the condition of the kidneys can be judged by hearing . If a person sleeps well and experiences joy when listening to music, noises and sounds, this indicates good kidney condition. If a person absolutely cannot stand noise and extraneous sounds, this indicates an excess of cold in the kidney meridian. And all this is quite understandable, since the ears and kidneys are part of the same biomeridian, although priority belongs to the kidneys. This is why the kidneys control hearing, which is why the ears are considered the “window of the kidneys.” By the way, along with the lungs, the kidneys control the growth of hair on the head through the blood. Therefore, thin hair may also indicate impaired renal function.

Long-term non-closure of fontanelles on the head in infants, increased flexibility of bones, premature loss of teeth - all these are also indicators of kidney weakness. This involuntarily suggests the thought: it means that those children who suffer rickets in infancy already have weakened kidneys.

And now about the most important thing. Do you know why, since time immemorial, Chinese healers have called the kidney “the very first mother of the body”? Not without reason. The possibility of procreation - reproduction - is directly dependent on the condition of the kidneys. It is on them that men's ability to conceive and produce sperm depends, and women's ability to have regular periods and the ability to bear children. The kidneys contain the program for a person’s life, that is, when he begins to walk, how he will grow and develop, when he reaches puberty, how many years he should live.

Human spiritual activity is also closely related to kidney function. Suffice it to say that it is thanks to them that the volume of the brain in which the original consciousness is concentrated is continuously replenished. That is why the kidneys need to be especially protected (as, indeed, the bladder) and not subjected to dubious tests. After all, we need them so much!

Pain when infection develops in the kidneys.

The most common signs of inflammatory kidney disease are increasing pain in the side and lower abdomen, as well as back pain, sensitivity to touch, high fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and frequent urination. If you have these symptoms, you should consult a doctor immediately.

Pain associated with the presence of kidney stones.

Kidney stones are a disease characterized by the presence of stones in the renal pelvis or calyces, formed from substances found in urine. Violation of the physicochemical composition of urine leads to the precipitation of crystals and salts, which, in combination with an organic base (for example, a blood clot, bacteria) form stones.

The disease manifests itself as dull pain in the lower back or in the form of renal colic, which occurs due to blockage of the renal pelvis or ureter by a stone. At the end of the attack or shortly after it, blood may appear in the urine. When complicated by a urinary tract infection, the urine is cloudy and purulent. Between attacks of colic, dull pain in the area of the corresponding kidney is possible, usually intensifying with movement and calming down with rest. Approximately 15% of patients with kidney stones are asymptomatic. Ultrasound, x-rays, and urinalysis help make the diagnosis.

Small stones that enter the ureter from the pelvis often pass on their own or after taking large amounts of fluid, drug therapy and other measures. Large stones cannot pass from the kidney; they must be removed. Self-treatment of such a disease is excluded.

Renal colic.

Severe back pain occurs when a stone comes out of the kidney and blocks the urine outlet. So-called renal colic occurs - a symptom of sharp cramping pain in the lumbar or iliac region, caused by convulsive contractions of the smooth muscles of the renal pelvis, its calyces or ureter when a sudden obstacle to the outflow of urine occurs. At the moment of colic, the patient does not find a place for himself, constantly changes body position, urination is frequent, painful, nausea and vomiting often occur.

You can try to relieve the pain of this complication before consulting a doctor by expelling the stone from the urinary tract. To do this, you can use local or general (bath) heat, painkillers, which include analgesics and anti-spasm agents (baralgin, spazgan, spasmalgon and the like).

Pain due to hydronephrosis.

If the stone does not pass from the kidney and the outflow of urine is not restored, then a serious complication may develop - hydronephrosis, a disease characterized by a progressive expansion of the kidney cavities with subsequent death of the kidney tissue. Hydronephrosis can be: congenital, with blockage by a tumor, inflammatory scar of the pelvis or ureter; with damage to the neuromuscular apparatus of the renal pelvis and ureter. With timely treatment, the organ will recover.

Typically, hydronephrosis occurs with attacks of renal colic or dull pain in the kidney area, blood appears in the urine, and when an infection occurs, pus appears. Treatment by a urologist, surgical.

Pain due to prolapse of the kidney.

Pain in the lumbar region, aggravated by standing, sometimes paroxysmal, when blood often appears in the urine, is also characteristic of another disease - kidney prolapse. In this case, gastrointestinal disorders, headache, increasing fatigue, and irritability may also occur. In most cases, this disease is right-sided.

SOME GENERAL ADVICE

In case of acute nephritis, it is better to replace horsetail grass with crushed lingonberry leaves.

For systemic kidney diseases (especially women), it is recommended to take tincture of marina root (peony evasive).

How to help the kidneys get rid of toxins?

Try a cold wrap. The apparent paradox of the proposed method is actually explained very simply. Wrapping the body in a sheet soaked in cold water (tightly swaddling with the arms) followed by 2-3 blankets leads to severe overheating and sweating. The effect will increase if you drink hot tea with honey beforehand. Intensive heating begins after 10 minutes and weakens after 30 minutes.

The degree of slagging is determined by the smell and color of the sheet soaked in sweat (if it is heavily slagged, the sheet will smell disgusting and turn yellow). This procedure is not recommended for people with weak hearts. When exposed to heat, the functions of the skin as an excretory organ are intensively exploited. Toxins, salts, and kidney waste products are removed through the sweat glands. This greatly facilitates the work of the kidneys, which do not always cope with the volume of waste.

Cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) is an alarming condition; clinging to old ideas. Afraid to give yourself freedom. Anger.

Treatment of such problems.

Say with mood and love: “I am happy to say goodbye to the past and welcome everything new in my life. I forgive others, I forgive myself. I have the freedom to love and enjoy life. KIDNEY STONES

A disease characterized by the formation of stones in the renal pelvis or their calyces from substances contained in urine.

Violations of the physico-chemical composition of urine lead to the precipitation of crystals and amorphous salts, which, in combination with an organic base (blood clot, fibrin, cellular detritus, bacteria, etc.) form stones. They can be in one or both kidneys, multiple or single, small or in the form of a large coral-shaped formation.

One of the causes of the disease is purulent-inflammatory processes, especially pyelonephritis, less often - diseases of the endocrine glands, in particular, hyperfunction of the parathyroid glands, etc. Lifestyle, nutrition, as well as the characteristics of the soil and drinking water are of great importance.

Characterized by lower back pain and attacks of renal colic.

The nature of nutrition plays a role in the occurrence of kidney stones, especially in childhood. Early and exclusive feeding of infants with cereals and flour dishes leads to high mortality and illness, including a significant incidence of kidney stones. Elimination of nutritional deficiencies made it possible to sharply reduce the above. Let me remind you that cereals and flour are rich in calcium. However, this heat-treated calcium is not absorbed by our body and serves as a source of kidney stones. This is the main reason why they grow back after stones are removed. A person does not want to know the reason and change it, namely, his poor diet.

The formation of stones in the kidneys and bladder has the same causes as the formation of stones in the liver. This is a sedentary lifestyle, eating mostly cooked food without combining it with raw, natural food, bad habits (overeating, alcohol, smoking, improper combination of foods (starches with proteins, fruits for dessert, etc.), eating canned vegetables and juices (they contain inorganic acids that are harmful to health.) The combination of canned juices, in particular tomato juice, with starchy foods (porridge, potatoes, white or any fresh bread and other products) is especially unfavorable.

Tomatoes, which until recently were mistakenly considered harmful and were forbidden to eat in case of kidney stones, gout and polyarthritis, turn out to be useful. They treat these diseases if consumed correctly: raw in combination with garlic, any herbs and other vegetables - pepper, horseradish, green peas (but not canned), fresh cabbage, radish, onions, zucchini, eggplant, green pepper, but not in Under no circumstances should you boil or bake tomatoes, especially with protein foods (meat, eggs, cottage cheese).

At urate stones:

Drink plenty of fluids. Dairy products are healthy.

Limit meat and fish, cheese, garlic, onions, baked goods and flour products, tomatoes, table salt, egg dishes, lentils, sorrel, spinach, soy, beans, asparagus. All types of canned food, spices, smoked foods, pickles, decoctions of bones, jellies, dishes made from animal entrails (liver, brains, udder, tongue, heart) are harmful.

At oxalate stones:

Limit carrots, cereals, butter and vegetable oil, sugar, strong tea and coffee. Chickens, fatty meats, sorrel, rhubarb, peppers, lettuce, meat broths, fish broths, all types of canned food, and smoked foods are excluded.

Among vegetables and herbs, you should not eat celery, beets, parsley, spinach, asparagus, gooseberries, strawberries, red currants, plums, cranberries, fried potatoes, green beans. Drinks prohibited are tomato juice, bread kvass, and cocoa.

At phosphate stones:

Limit the consumption of sour cream and eggs, pumpkin, Brussels sprouts, peas, apples, lingonberries, prunes, currants.

Dairy products (except sour cream), smoked foods, canned food, stimulating drinks, and spices (pepper, horseradish, mustard) are prohibited.

An infection that gets into the kidneys one way or another can cause kidney stones. Staphylococcus directly in the kidney itself affects the reaction of urine, changing the acidic reaction to alkaline (due to the bacterial conversion of urea to ammonium urate), resulting in sediments appearing in the urine.

Intestinal bacteria also play some role in stone formation. Thus, a bacterium that produces oxalic acid lives in the human intestine. The proliferation of these bacteria (depending on nutrition) causes the appearance of oxaluria in a healthy person due to the excessive formation of oxalates in the intestines, their absorption and excretion in the urine.

The liver is of great importance in recurrent stone formation. After all, one of the functions of the liver is urea formation. It occurs only here, and urea, as the final product of protein metabolism, is excreted by the kidneys. The weight of stones is on average 20 - 50 grams. But it can also be several kilograms. Stones are most often found in the right kidney, because the large intestine on the right side has a thin wall through which toxic effusions have a damaging effect on the right kidney. In addition, it is prone to displacement and stagnation!

Double-sided stones occur in 10 - 17% of cases. Both ancient and modern doctors recommend drinking plenty of fluids and warm baths to combat kidney stones. Drinking plenty of fluids is necessary to flush the pelvis and calyces of the kidneys and at the same time reduce solid substances in the urine.

A wide variety of diuretics are used. Let's analyze them and find the most effective and safe ones.

Grapes and raisins should be consumed separately from other foods).

Hidden ailments are often indicated by a constantly sore throat and even... cracked heels.

When sitting down to eat, few people think about how the kidneys will react to different drinks and foods. Meanwhile, experts advise: you should always remember this.

What are kidneys? And why is it so important not to irritate them?

The kidneys are a kind of pump with a filter that passes through everything that a person eats and drinks, and then drains it into the bladder, explains the main function of the vital organ, Nikolai, a urologist, associate professor of the department of urology and nephrology of BelMAPO, chairman of the Belarusian Association of Urologists Ven. - Many people are probably interested in how alcohol affects the kidneys. I will say this: alcohol is different from alcohol.

Drinks that contain a lot of toxic substances, and these are, first of all, cheap wines, moonshine, home-made vodka - a real poison for this very delicate organ. Experts know that low-quality alcohol can even cause your kidneys... to melt. Why? Everything that poisons the body not only passes through the kidneys, but also concentrates in them. In addition, the kidney is one of the organs that regulates blood pressure, as well as acid-base balance, the release of various ions, salts and other substances from the body. The human body consists of minerals, organic substances, acidic and alkaline solutions. We are 80 percent water, so we react immediately to any disturbance in the acid-base balance.

Just not thirst!
