Basil has a unique fresh and spicy aroma that enhances the taste of many dishes. As it turns out, drinks with basil also taste exceptionally good. For example, classic lemonade can be even tastier and more aromatic if you add fresh basil leaves and a little apple juice.
To make lemonade you will need mint green basil or red basil. The second has a more intense taste and aroma. There are more than ten varieties of basil, each of which is good in its own way and suitable for certain dishes.




- half a lemon;
- mint leaves;
- 5-6 ice cubes;
- 50g apple juice;
- 200 ml water;
- 4-5 basil leaves;
- honey to taste.

How to cook with photos step by step





1. First, according to the recipe for homemade lemonade with basil, cut half of the lemon into small pieces.



2. Mint and basil leaves are plucked from the branches.



3. Place all the ingredients of lemonade in a shaker and mix vigorously. You can use a thermos instead of a shaker. To dissolve honey in the drink, first mix everything except ice, and after dissolving the honey, add ice cubes and shake the lemonade in a shaker again. By the way, an alternative to lemonade can be made from lemons, which you will probably like.





4. Lemonade prepared at home is poured into a glass with a volume of 250-400 ml.
5. Basil lemonade can be strained if desired.



6. To make the basil taste brighter, you need to chop the leaves before mixing.

For 2 servings:

  • 2-3 sprigs purple basil
  • 2 tsp sugar or honey (add to your taste, you can add more or skip sweeteners altogether)
  • 500 ml hot water (not boiling water!)
  • juice of 1/4 or 1/3 lemon (add lemon juice too to taste; for some, half a lemon will not be enough, and for others, a couple of tablespoons will be enough)

Place basil sprigs, sugar (or honey) in a jug or glasses and add hot water. Stir.

All this should brew and cool to room temperature. The drink will turn a beautiful blue color.

Remove the basil sprigs from the cooled drink. Add lemon juice (it is better to add a little at a time to get the taste acceptable to you), stir.

Before your eyes lemonade will change its blue color to pink. What a spectacle! I think children should like it.

Spill lemonade by the glass. You can add ice cubes.

Let's prepare a stunning lemonade from cucumbers and basil on a hot summer day - despite its strangeness, this combination will definitely not disappoint you with its taste! The drink turns out to be invigorating, sweet, with a slight spicy note and very refreshing, in addition, it has a delicate golden-green color that is pleasing to the eye.

So, how can we prepare such a seemingly difficult exotic at home?

At the end we will get 1 large glass of 250 ml - this is quite enough for testing, and then you can increase the amount of products at your discretion, the main thing is to maintain the proportions.

Ingredients

Preparation

  • Wash the cucumber well and squeeze the juice out of it. You can do this using a juicer, or you can grate it on a coarse grater or grind it in a blender and squeeze it through cheesecloth.
  • Wash the lime and cut it first into halves lengthwise, and then into slices, put it in a deep plate or small ladle. We wash the basil and add it to the lime wedges.
  • Add sugar to everything and crush with a spoon or masher.
  • Leave for 15 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved, and then add cucumber juice and water. Mix.

The advantage of this drink is that it can be served either strained or not, leaving lemon slices and basil leaves, flavoring everything with crushed ice or cubes. In any case, we cool everything.

Instead of lime, this recipe allows you to use regular lemon, but you will not need to add the whole citrus, especially if it is large, but only half. Green and purple basil are also suitable - choose the one you like best or is easier to buy.

You can dilute homemade lemonade with cucumber and basil not only with plain filtered water. Just top it up with bottled carbonated water and the taste will be transformed beyond recognition! We will have a drink in front of us that is reminiscent of a mojito, but much healthier and tastier.

In addition, this combination is often flavored with celery. Let's try!

You can prepare it in the same way as the previous one, squeezing the juice out of a cucumber, or you can speed up and simplify the process.

  • In a blender bowl, grind 1 large cucumber, 5 basil leaves and a small celery stalk (1.5 - 2 cm) - it should be fresh and juicy.
  • Cut the washed lemon into slices, add 1 tbsp. sugar, mash with a masher and add the pulp from the blender to it.
  • Fill everything with 250 ml of hot water, but in no case higher than 60°C and leave for 20 - 30 minutes.

When the cucumber-basil lemonade has cooled completely, strain it through several layers of gauze, add ice to taste or add a little water and serve! An absolutely natural drink is ready!

Now you know how to make your own cucumber and basil lemonade at home so that it turns out incredibly tasty and healthy!

To prepare basil lemonade, thoroughly wash the purple basil sprigs under running water and tear them off the stems (we won’t need the stems). Wash the lemon thoroughly, wipe dry, and grate the zest from it. Cut the lemon itself into slices.


Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add sugar and mix well until it dissolves. Add the zest, lemon slices and basil leaves. Bring to a boil again, cover with a lid and turn off the heat. Let the basil lemonade brew. During this time, the drink will acquire a beautiful pale pink color and a unique aroma.


Be sure to strain the drink through a sieve to remove the zest, lemon and basil leaves. Let the basil lemonade cool completely. Serve chilled, optionally with ice cubes. This drink can also be drunk warm instead of tea. It will also be very tasty.


To further enrich the taste and decorate the drink, you can cut several strawberries into thin slices and add to the lemonade. Strawberries will look beautiful not only in a glass, but also in a jug. You can also add a few slices of lemon.

Basil and lemon drink– a healthy, colorful and tasty drink with a rather unusual taste. An extremely simple recipe, the drink can be prepared very quickly, in just 10-15 minutes. Even a child can do it, who, by the way, will be interested in looking at the color transformations. The drink is universal - you can drink it cold or hot, with or without sugar, and it is also a great thirst quencher.

  • sugar 80 g
  • basil 50 g
  • lemon 1 PC.

I used purple basil to give the drink a nice color and also to be part of a culinary experiment. More on this later.

Preparation

Wash the basil and lemon well, prepare the required amount of sugar. Do not cut off the basil stems, they will be used.

Pour boiling water (1.5 liters) over the basil and leave to settle for a few minutes. From pure basil, the infusion turns out to be blue-violet in color, like an ink solution. Don't be alarmed, this is how it should be!

Squeeze the juice out of the lemon.

See how the water darkens after a few minutes, everything is ready for further action: a culinary experiment awaits us.

Add lemon juice.

And we observe how the color changes: the drink becomes significantly lighter and redder. It's magic! Or a chemical reaction? Who knows... Add sugar and stir until it is completely dissolved.

All that remains is to strain the drink and drink it straight away, like tea.

Ready! In summer it is much more pleasant to drink it chilled, even with ice. Basil drink has tonic and calming properties. After a hard day at work or in the sultry heat, a glass of refreshing “basil” will come in handy.
