Ten global environmental problems in pictures. Ten global environmental problems in pictures. Drawing of what pollutes the air.

The earth is in danger! She is constantly under attack... by disgusting people. She barely manages to withstand the terrible blows that humanity deals. Don't believe me? Here are 9 photos that will finally convince you.

Death due to plastic

This Albatross was found in the North Pacific Ocean. This is not the only animal that has died as a result of ingesting plastic waste. There are hundreds of bird species that have suffered the same terrible fate.

Citarum River

5 million Indonesian residents depend on this river as their only source of water. Unfortunately, this is one of the most polluted rivers on the entire planet. You can probably guess for yourself how short life expectancy is in this region.

Swimming pool Riachuelo

This Argentine body of water is surrounded by thousands of factories, slums and garbage dumps. It is not surprising that pollution in this region leads to serious health problems.

Garbage wave

This Indonesian surfer was caught in a bad shot on a junk wave. The story takes place in the overly populated Java region of Indonesia.

Yamuna River

Approximately 60 percent of Delhi, India's garbage is directly dumped into this river, but people living here still depend on this water source for drinking water, bathing and washing clothes.

Tianyin, China

Don't come to Tianyin unless you want to get serious lead poisoning. The city is the largest lead producer in China. The level of air pollution here exceeds all permissible standards tens of times.

Oil spill

Many species suffer during oil spills. The poor duck in the photo is a victim of the functioning of our insane society.

Dhaka

This overpopulated Bangladeshi city has serious waste management problems due to its huge population and high population density. It is one of the most densely populated cities in the world.

Stork in trouble

Environmental pollution has caused a catastrophic decline in the stork population. In this photo, the stork was captured by a plastic bag tightly wrapped around its body.

Today, humanity faces many environmental problems; pictures on this topic are the most eloquent. Let us list the most global environmental problems, both in Russia and around the world:

  • . Recently, the problem of deforestation has become increasingly urgent; if the situation does not change radically, we risk being left without such natural wealth as forests.
  • The planet is drowning in garbage. Today our life is unthinkable without familiar things: plastic, polyethylene or cans. The biggest problem is what to do with this waste after disposal. From year to year, the amount of unrecycled waste and landfills is only growing.

  • . The process of oil production, its transportation and refining is certainly accompanied by its loss, which is the main cause of poisoning, death of organisms and soil degradation.

  • Radioactive waste contamination. Nature will continue to recover for a long time after the Chernobyl accident, which resulted in the release of radioactive substances.

  • Global climate change as a result of the greenhouse effect. The main sources of greenhouse gases are emissions of carbon dioxide, freon, methane and others.

  • Transformation of fertile lands into deserts. Such a threat exists due to deforestation and poor agricultural practices.

  • Water pollution. Pollution of reservoirs, rivers, and lakes constantly occurs with wastewater from industrial enterprises, as well as as a result of the use of various chemicals.

  • . The active development of industry is a problem not only of large cities, but also of regions. Nowadays, you can often see smog - a thick fog that covers the entire sky with a thick blanket. A large contribution is also made by vehicle emissions and the combustion of household waste.

  • . Due to the growth of urban infrastructure and agricultural development, many species of animals and plants continue to disappear from the face of the earth.

  • . Uncontrolled and improper use of various fertilizers and pesticides leads primarily to soil depletion, and in the worst case, to soil poisoning.

First of all, they are related to their disposal and processing; in particular, the latter type of activity in the country is not developed enough to absorb the entire volume produced by the population.

A recent study from the University of California, Berkeley found that 4,000 people die every day in China due to complications caused by air pollution.

In March, Chen Jining, China's Minister of Environmental Protection, said that China could not yet step up pollution control measures, but a turnaround would certainly come.

On November 9, the country was once again shrouded in toxic smog due to massive coal burning. And last weekend, China broke the record for the highest levels of air pollution in history. The harmful particles contained in the air were more than 50 times higher than the safe level determined by the World Health Organization. The smog remained in the air throughout the week.

These photos illustrate the problem of air pollution in different cities in China:

Unfortunately, many Chinese have not mentally matured to the idea that nature requires careful treatment.

Fishermen sailing on the waters of Lake Chaohu in Anhui Province. The surface of the lake is more reminiscent of an artist's palette than a body of water. I wonder if the fishermen guess that the fish from this lake may not be “very” healthy?

Smoking as a factor in air pollution. In addition, smoking leads to diseases of the most important human organs. Tobacco smoke is a mixture of chemical compounds, including very toxic ones. However, in addition to smokers themselves, people who are in the same room with them also suffer from air pollution.

1)Transport. Sources of atmospheric pollution. The settling of particles from vehicle exhaust causes plants along roads to accumulate significant amounts of lead. Therefore, environmentalists do not recommend eating vegetables, mushrooms and berries grown near busy roads. Grazing of livestock and the preparation of feed for livestock are also unacceptable here, because lead will inevitably end up in the meat and milk of domestic animals.

2) Fires. Atmospheric pollution during severe fires can spread over hundreds of kilometers, reaching neighboring regions. Increased smoke in the atmosphere due to forest fires adversely affects people's health, provoking the development and exacerbation of allergic diseases, respiratory diseases, and irritation of mucous membranes.

3) Incineration of garbage. Burning garbage causes great harm to human health. Even equipped waste incineration plants cannot ensure safe combustion of waste. This is impossible to achieve in an open dump. Despite the bans, some people burn garbage right on the streets and cause harm.

1. Improvement of enterprises. The main air protection measures should be aimed at preventing emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere through the installation of dust collection and gas cleaning equipment at enterprises. Another promising direction is the creation and implementation of waste-free technologies.
