Nitro transcript. What is nitro coffee? Comparison of nitro coffee and cold brew

The pleasure of driving radio-controlled models cannot be compared with anything else. Games with these cars are reminiscent of driving a real car, and sometimes even surpass it in their capabilities. Control can occur from a long distance, and these vehicles are distinguished by high cross-country ability and high-speed capabilities.

Any turn, any skid of the model is felt almost with a sixth sense. It’s as if you are in the car itself, and all the sensations from the car are transmitted to your fingers through the control panel. Radio controlled car racing is an exciting game of excitement. Such sensations simply cannot be obtained, for example, through computer games.

Radio controlled models They are conventionally divided into cars with an electric motor and with an internal combustion engine (ICE).

Cars with an electric motor are structurally simpler; they only require a battery to move them. Radio-controlled models with internal combustion engines are distinguished by their independence from the limited power supply of the battery, and the use of a nitro internal combustion engine makes the speed characteristics of the cars simply amazing. It is enough to fill a portion of fuel, and the car is ready for racing again.

System nitro internal combustion engine significantly improves the technical performance of the engine and its power. What is the nitro internal combustion engine system? If radio-controlled cars While ICE models have a spark plug and run on regular gasoline mixed with motor oil, nitro ICE models have a glow engine and use a fuel called nitro fuel. Nitrofuel is made from three components: nitromethane, methanol and oil. Nitromethane usually makes up 20% of the fuel, but can range from 10% to 40% and even higher. Synthetic or castor oils are added to fuel for cooling and lubrication. The amount and type of oil are determined depending on the conditions of use of the radio-controlled model.

As you know, the engine works by burning fuel. The fuel, flashing in the combustion chamber, heats the air in the cylinder. The heated air expands and creates great pressure, which pushes the pistons. To increase engine power to release more energy, more fuel must be burned. At the same time, oxygen is required for fuel combustion, and the more oxygen, the more intensely the fuel is burned.

Nitrous oxide, which is part of nitrofuel, significantly increases the intensity of fuel combustion in the engine cylinders. At the same time, the percentage composition of oxygen in the incoming charge increases. In addition, the content of nitrous oxide in the fuel reduces the temperature of the air drawn into the engine, which leads to an increase in the density of the mixture supplied to the cylinders. The nitrogen atoms released as a result of the decomposition of N2O prevent the mixture from detonating. Since radio-controlled models with a nitro engine are designed to drive at high speeds, these cars are always equipped with radial tires. An important point is also the rigidity of the suspension of such machines.

Who among us has not dreamed, at least for a moment, of being the driver of a huge truck, while feeling the power of the engine pulling huge trailers? A wonderful RC truck model can easily make this dream come true. Even though this high-tech colossus is not controlled from the cockpit, the sensations evoked are almost the same. Their mechanical basis is a durable frame made of steel. Monster trucks with nitro internal combustion engines are made with a wide enough wheelbase and large off-road tires to overcome off-road conditions. rc truck- this is power, beauty and realism in your hands.

Crazy speed, lightning-fast movement on any roads and directions, dizzying jumps, independence from circumstances - all this radio controlled SUVs. High tech radio controlled jeeps obedient and easy to control. The reliable and durable chassis design easily withstands strong impacts, flips and jumps. The use of powerful nitro internal combustion engines gives the radio-controlled SUV fantastic dynamics.

Radio controlled buggies with an internal combustion engine can be safely defined as a classic of the genre. Today, design changes have turned buggies into magnificent highway conquerors. In technical terms, the purpose of radio-controlled buggy models is to quickly pass earthen or sandy tracks, as well as for fantastic jumps. The speed qualities of the models become simply amazing with the use of nitro internal combustion engines.

The main design features of a buggy with a nitro internal combustion engine are due to the extended suspension, special off-road tires, and chassis settings.

Exciting road racing competitions are certainly a delightful spectacle, but, you see, it’s more interesting to drive a fast car yourself. Radio controlled cars with nitro internal combustion engines they can give a real high-speed drive of positive emotions.

More and more coffee shops began to experiment and come up with their own variations of coffee lemonades and espresso tonics (most often a shot of espresso, tonic water and fructose syrup), and this year a new drink began to appear in Moscow establishments - nitro coffee, which has already become popular in America and Europe.

What is nitro coffee

Nitro is an abbreviated name for nitrogen (from the English Nitrogen), which plays a key role in the recipe. The drink is usually based on cold brew - coffee brewed using cold extraction, which is passed through a beer tap with nitrogen. As a result, the coffee becomes slightly carbonated and forms a thick foam - it looks most like a pint of draft Guinness. This coffee is absorbed faster (therefore awakens you many times faster), has a soft sweetish taste and delicate texture. Of course, nitro coffee cannot be called beer: it contains neither hops nor alcohol, but its striking similarity to stout makes one involuntarily admit this thought.

Skuratov Coffee

Having opened their second coffee shop in Moscow last week, Omsk roasters Skuratov Coffee were among the first in the city to begin serving nitro coffee, and developed the equipment for the drink themselves. They didn’t stop there either; following nitro, the coffee shop began searching for technologies to create a milk drink in which cold brew, milk and nitrogen would not conflict with each other. The result is an Air Latte, which combines the density of cream and milk with the delicate nitro texture of the drink.

KOF. Coffee & Lab

The coffee shop at Khlebozavod not only serves nitro coffee, but also offers other establishments the opportunity to purchase a nitro station for preparing the drink. Coffee on tap at Kof. It is made on the basis of cold brew and has a soft, enveloping texture, like a good stout. In addition to nitro, the coffee shop also prepares “coffee kvass”: natural passion fruit is added to cold brew coffee and then carbonated with carbon dioxide.

"Truth Coffee"

The Pravda Coffee chain of coffee shops has also introduced nitrogen coffee, but so far you can only find it at one point in the chain on Bolshaya Novodmitrovskaya. The drink is based on cold-brewed Costa Rica San Rafael coffee, which has notes of sweet pastries, raisins and chocolate with a slight sourness. Next, everything is according to the canons: the resulting cold brew is passed through a nitrogen installation, resulting in a soft, rich nitro coffee. The coffee shop offers to add several types of syrups to the drink to diversify the flavor palette.

Nitro coffee is cold brew coffee infused with nitrogen. The name looks cosmic and even scary. While our summer in Moscow was barely getting going by August, in the USA the drink became a trend in the summer of 2016, and this year it became one of the top summer coffee drinks.

Nitro coffee contains natural Specialty coffee and water. The preparation method is a classic version of cold brew coffee. Freshly ground coffee is poured with specially prepared drinking water and left to steep for several hours. Then filtered and saturated with nitrogen. Nitrogen is responsible for the velvety texture and sweetish creamy taste. Sugar is not added to nitro coffee. Pour through a cooling station; adding ice is not required and the drink does not lose its original balanced taste.

What types of nitro coffee are there?

Nitro coffee is used as a basis for cold coffee cocktails. Combined with milk or homemade creamy caramel, you get nitro latte and nitro raff. The taste is reminiscent of melted vanilla ice cream with dense foam.

Coffee kvass - add natural passion fruit and sugar syrup to the nitro base, you get a coffee-fruit dream. You take a sip and you feel like you're on vacation, at least.

Nitro coffee, coffee kvass and nitro milk drinks are poured through a cooling station using beer taps. Sometimes they are called coffee beers, but they have no beer heritage, only their appearance.

Comparison of nitro coffee and cold brew

What is the difference between cold brew and nitro coffee? Let me remind you that these are two methods of brewing coffee with cold water, but there are nuances

Cooking method

The basis of both drinks is cold brew. The choice of grain depends on the taste preferences of the manufacturer and ideas of what the drink should be.

Freshly ground coffee is poured with cold water and left for 22-24 hours, then filtered. Then the fun begins:

  • Cold brew - after filtering, the drink is put in the refrigerator and chilled and served to everyone. They don't carbonate.
  • Nitro coffee - after filtration, it is passed through a cooling station and at the same time saturated with nitrogen, hence the name “nitro”

Texture

  • Cold brew is reminiscent of a strong brew and is not always pleasant on the tongue.
  • Nitro coffee - thanks to the nitrogen saturation, the texture is round, dense, enveloping, pleasant and easy to drink.

Foam on the surface

  • Cold brew - no foam.
  • Nitro coffee - silky, tender, light.

Taste

Depends on the selected grain, experience and skill of the manufacturer:

  • Cold brew is often tasteless cold coffee, with a predominance of bitterness or pronounced acidity. To give it a more interesting taste, milk, syrups, tonics, etc. are sometimes added to it.
  • Nitro coffee - delicious cold coffee, balance of bitterness and acidity, you can feel the natural sweetness of the grain and its taste characteristics - chocolate, caramel, etc.

Packaging and storage conditions

  • Cold brew is often bottled.
  • Nitro coffee - poured from a keg from a tap, like beer. There are bottled options.

This is not news to anyone. But why, the use of this system can so instantly increase car speed? This topic is especially popular among those who like to do tuning of vases with their own hands. The answer lies in the essence of the engine itself. Why is the car moving? Because the fuel-air mixture burns in the cylinders, driving the pistons. The pistons, in turn, transmit this rotational motion to the wheels. Now let's think logically. How to increase the amount of rotational motion, or as they say, torque? It is necessary to increase the amount of fuel burned per unit of time. It seems clear, but to burn more fuel, more oxygen is required. That's why we need nitrous oxide.

How does nitro work?

Instant speed increase occurs due to an increase in power. To increase power without making much effort and significantly modifying the engine, it is enough to take just three simple (or not so simple) steps.
Firstly, as mentioned earlier, for fuel to burn, oxygen is needed. Nitrous oxide (N2O) is essentially oxygen. Nitros is not the energy that propels a car forward, energy is fuel, and nitrous oxide simply helps burn more of it. More fuel is burned in the cylinder per unit of time - the greater the force with which the piston is pushed out, which means more power. Everything is quite simple here.

Fuel structure

Second step to increase power(or as we already found out the combustion of fuel), this is the structure of the fuel. Or rather, even to say its state of aggregation. After all, gasoline (or any other fuel) will not burn in a closed space, which is the combustion chamber, in a liquid state. It will be more accurate, but this one will not be exactly what we need. To achieve maximum efficiency, the fuel must be in a vapor state. Therefore, the better the valve that atomizes the fuel (in the injectors) is made, the faster it will burn. Ideally, the size of a drop of gasoline in an atomized state should be tens of times smaller than the size of an ordinary drop.

Composition of nitrous oxide, result

The final step to increasing power comes from air quality. The normal air we breathe consists of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases. Nitrous oxide contains 67% nitrogen and 33% oxygen. More oxygen per unit volume of nitro allows you to burn more fuel. It is a fact. But we must remember that cylinder volume is also not infinite, and therefore the amount of fuel-air mixture that can fit in the combustion chamber also has its limit. How to increase this limit without changing the design of the cylinders? There is no secret here, because this is simple thermodynamics, studied in school. As the temperature decreases, all bodies become narrower. And fuel is no exception. That is, if lower the temperature of the fuel-air mixture, then you can increase the concentration of this mixture per unit volume. Nitrous oxide will also help with this. Nitro is supplied in the form of liquefied gas, and the evaporation temperature of any liquefied gas is several times lower than the ambient temperature. Here is the answer. By using nitrous oxide instead of regular air, we kill two birds with one stone. Firstly, we increase the amount of oxygen, which means we increase the amount of fuel burned. Secondly, the volume of the combustion mixture increases due to a decrease in temperature, which also increases power. Engine tuning and tuning with your own hands - easy!
So, using nitros in your car, even without radically altering the engine, you can very quickly increase power, and, as a result, speed. You just have to remember that using nitro forces your engine to operate at the maximum permissible frequency, which means that all parts wear out faster and the life of the engine is significantly reduced. It’s easy to do tuning yourself, good luck to you!
