World Chocolate Day lesson notes. Game program "Chocolate Day". Children perform the Tumbler dance

Bitter, sweet, milky, velvety... Melting in your hands and on your tongue, making you close your eyes, enjoying this amazing taste... Oh, great and incomparable chocolate! We sing your hymn and eat your sorrows. Moreover, it’s time to do it: on July 11, the world bathes, enjoys and savors... World Chocolate Day.

history of the holiday

Sweet Day was born in France. It was first celebrated in 1995, and from the land of eternal Love it flowed softly and strode across the entire planet.

Gone are the days when chocolate was called “black gold” and it appeared only on the tables of the nobility. Today, adults and children can enjoy it to their fullest.

Everything about it is good: it is nutritious, tasty, and contains elements that help the body recover and relax. Dark chocolate is a storehouse of endorphins (happiness hormones). Eat a chocolate bar and your mood will improve. Bold scientists claim that this sweetness slows down the aging process and prevents the appearance of cancer.

True, this wonderful product contains a lot of calories, so there is one small drawback: a moment of happiness in your mouth - and a kilogram on your waist. But this does not stop true gourmet lovers. You can always allow yourself little weaknesses. Especially if you do it without fanaticism. After all, chocolate is fraught with so many surprises that you shouldn’t neglect it.

Interesting facts about chocolate

The cocoa tree grows in the south, where the hot sun nurtures and allows the fruits to ripen slowly. Only in the fifth year of its life does it begin to bear fruit and does so regularly for only a quarter of a century, although the Universe has measured it to live for about two centuries.

Each fruit contains up to fifty beans. In total, you can collect up to two and a half thousand grains from a tree. On average, 1 bean is used per 1 gram of chocolate.

Mayan tribe - cocoa fans

Chocolate was made by the ancient Aztec Mayans. They worshiped this tree, counted each bean, used it as a bargaining chip, made sacrifices to the gods, deeply convinced that a cocoa bean would grow in the heart of the victim.

They called it the food of the gods and bitter water and believed that cocoa was a tree from paradise that gives wisdom and enlightenment to those who eat its fruits.

Mayan chocolate was not much like what we are used to eating today: the Aztecs added pepper, hallucinogenic mushrooms and mashed corn.

Cocoa beans served as the equivalent of money for the Indians. They bought everything with them: food, slaves, the love of available women... The Aztec emperor Montezuma, who, according to legend, owned a billion beans, was called the king of chocolate. Montezuma was a kind of hoarder. However, like the oligarchs of all times and peoples.

It was a little easier for the Indian emperors: they took part of their precious belongings with them to the grave: loyal subjects saw off their leaders with honors and put both beans and chocolate on the long irrevocable journey.

The path from Columbus to the chocolate bar

The delicacy came to Europe only after Columbus discovered America. First it appeared in Spain, and then, gradually, began to conquer other countries and continents.

In the Middle Ages, the church considered it a “demonic drink” associated with magic and witchcraft, so its use was strictly prohibited. However, this only fueled the desire to try the forbidden fruit.

At first, chocolate was used as a liquid drink, and only in 1842 was the first chocolate bar produced.

Inexorable numbers

On average, all over the world, a person eats up to five kilos of this sweet miracle per year. The Swiss are considered fans, consuming chocolate twice as much as the average.

The scale of cocoa production is large, because up to four million tons of this sweet dessert are eaten and up to eighty million dollars are spent by the citizens of the planet. Such impressive numbers :).

And how can you do without chocolates and sweets when there are so many different holidays?

It is considered the most chocolate, Halloween takes the second place of honor, and the third step of the pedestal is saddled . The statistics are clearly American, and in our country, apparently, will not be in last place.

Who is harmful and who is beneficial?

For people, a sweet treat is sometimes even beneficial. Scientists believe that if you eat 75 grams of dark chocolate per month, your life will extend by a year. The ritual is important here: three times 25 grams in 30 days. Otherwise, you would spend extra years of your life crying.

They claim that with the help of a tasty treat you can reduce blood pressure, cleanse blood vessels, cleanse plaque, increase sexual libido... The main thing is not to overdo it!

But what is useful to higher primates is strictly prohibited to our smaller brothers. Even if our cats and dogs like candy, this does not mean that it is useful for them. 60 grams is a lethal dose for a dog weighing five kilograms. Therefore, restrain the generosity of your soul and take care of your pets.

Miracles in chocolate

Chocolate is a fertile material. Maybe that’s why they make sculptures from it, sculpt various objects and even create... chocolate clothes.

In Germany, for example, they produce edible plates. You can listen to them and then eat them.

In 2008, for Christmas, Italian Angelo Feduzzi created an eight-ton miracle: a life-size copy of England's Big Ben. The tower stood in the town of Matzerata for a week, after which it was broken down and distributed to guests and residents of the Italian town.

The Chinese approach everything thoroughly. In Shanghai, on the Spring Festival, an unusual car appeared on the street. Just like the real thing, but only chocolate. The confectioners sweated for five hours, exhausted 37 kilograms of product, but proved to everyone: the Chinese are no strangers!

The Guinness record holder was a chocolate bar weighing 5 tons 792.5 kilograms. Its parameters are four by four meters, and this giant was made in England.

Well, how can you do without a chocolate fashion show? Everything is as it should be: dresses, camisoles, jewelry... Even the wedding dress was made from white chocolate. This is someone who has a sweet life ahead :)

Don't forget your loved ones and friends on Sweet Day. When, if not on a holiday, should you pamper yourself? Arrange a celebration of Joy, flesh and Love! Enjoy the unique taste of a delicate, velvety, amazing delicacy!
