Secrets of the perfect pp omelette in the microwave

The form for an omelette in the microwave can, in principle, be any shape; it can be prepared in a mug, in a glass, even in a bag. It’s also good to make a tender omelette in a silicone mold in the microwave. This dish is prepared very quickly - in 2 minutes, since the egg mass will be distributed in a thin layer.

To reduce the calorie and fat content of the dish, chicken eggs can not be placed with all the yolks. For example, take the whites of 4 eggs, and the yolks of only 1 - purely for taste. An omelette made from 3 eggs is almost 300 kcal, and an omelette of the same size from 5 whites and 1 yolk is about 150 kcal.

Don't skip butter when cooking egg dishes in the microwave. It is only unhealthy in large quantities and when food is fried with it in the traditional way, in a frying pan. A small amount of natural high-quality butter will saturate the body with retinol, carotene, other provitamins and microelements, which are fat-soluble and difficult to replace.

How to cook a simple omelet in the microwave

Wash the eggs thoroughly and break them into a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste, if desired, season with spices.


Then whisk the eggs with a whisk or fork until the eggs become smooth and foam appears.


Next, pour the milk into the eggs and whisk the mixture again until smooth. The amount of milk can be adjusted to your taste. My omelette came out with a little liquid. The omelette mixture is ready, all that remains is to bake it in the microwave.


You can cook an omelet in the microwave in a mug/plate, a heat-resistant microwave form, or in a plastic container - it all depends on the volume of the omelette mixture and the available utensils. The main thing is that the egg-milk mixture takes up no more than half the volume. When baked, the omelette grows enormously and can “escape” from the vessel. I baked this simple two-egg omelette in a 380 ml broth pot. Grease the bottom and sides of the selected vessel with butter and pour the omelette mixture into it. Do not let the mixture sit for a long time, because then the omelette may turn out heavy and lose its airiness.


Then immediately load the omelette into the microwave, set the maximum power and bake for 3-4 minutes, depending on the power of the oven. The power of my microwave is 750 W, the cooking time is 3.5 minutes. It is not necessary to cover the omelette with a lid.

After a couple of minutes, through the transparent microwave door you can see how the omelette grows into a lush cap. In the finished omelette, this cap will fall off, but it will still remain very tender and airy. You can serve this omelet directly in the same vessel in which you cooked it.


Or transfer it to a plate - the omelette is very easy to remove without losing its shape.

Omelette with filling in the microwave

Ingredients for the omelette:

  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml milk,
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • a little plum. oils for lubricating the mold
  • hard/semi-hard cheese – 80-100 g,
  • milk sausages – 2 pcs.,
  • tomato – 1 pc.,
  • greens (dill, onion) - 2-3 sprigs.

Now a few words about how to cook an omelette with filling in the microwave. First we prepare the filling - i.e. grind all prepared products. Cut the tomatoes and sausages into cubes, finely chop the greens, grate the cheese on a coarse grater.


Then we prepare the omelette mixture as described in the basic recipe for a simple omelette in the microwave (see the recipe above on the same page), and add the filling to it.

It is now difficult to say who exactly, or even which people, first thought of making an omelette. The name of this dish is French. But this does not mean that the omelette was born on the banks of the Seine. Moreover, the French make it without adding milk. There are many omelet recipes in the world. In Italy it's a fritatta. Among the Slavs, it is customary to add milk to an omelet, so that a tender soufflé is obtained. In Spain, this dish is prepared like a tortilla with potatoes. But the product also contains valuable microelements, amino acids and a set of vitamins (line B, as well as E and D). Quail eggs are especially useful. Their hard shell prevents salmonella from penetrating inside. If your child is allergic to chicken eggs, you can make an omelette from quail eggs. But at the same time, this animal product also contains cholesterol. Therefore, you should monitor the number of eggs you eat. If we are talking about chicken, then you can afford to eat only four pieces per day, no more. Those who are watching their figure should take into account and it is they who are recommended to cook an omelet in the microwave. The recipe allows you not to consume a single gram of fat. Whereas in a frying pan, an omelette requires greasing the surface of the dish with oil. We can cook various versions of this dish in the microwave. And spend much less time on it than with the traditional method. For a successful omelet, eggs must be fresh - with a matte, not glossy shell, and well chilled. Milk can be replaced with cream or low-fat sour cream.

Basic recipe

Surely everyone has a favorite method. Some prefer it with cheese, and others with ham, tomatoes and herbs. What about in the microwave? A recipe with a photo will tell us the best way. Let's start with the classics. Let's prepare the omelette as is customary among the Slavs - with milk. Only instead of a frying pan we will use a microwave oven. Take a bowl that is microwave safe. Break two eggs into it and beat them lightly (until foam appears). Add half a glass of milk. Season with salt and black or red pepper. Cut half a tomato into small cubes. Add to the egg-milk mixture. Three thirty grams of cheese or cut it into strips. And the final touch is greenery. You can take any - dill, parsley, basil, cilantro, celery, onion. Finely chop a couple of twigs and add them to the egg mass. Mix. Set to full power and cook for about four minutes.

Complex omelet in the microwave in a mug

The recipe for cooking in a microwave oven allows you to serve the dish to each family member separately - with his favorite additives. Take a ceramic mug and break two eggs into it. Beat lightly with a fork. Let's add those products that we love in an omelet: sausage or ham cut into strips, cheese, herbs, etc. Season with salt and spices. Let's mix. In a word, we do everything the same way as if we were going to fry a dish in a frying pan. But we will cook an omelet in the microwave. The recipe instructs us to place the uncovered mug in the oven for one minute. We will see that the omelette is baked near the walls of the dish, and in the middle the eggs are still damp. In this case, mix the contents of the mug with a fork and put it in the oven for another minute and a half. To make the dish more fluffy and tender, add two tablespoons of milk to the mug before baking.

Omelet in the microwave for a child

This recipe will allow you to create a dish of an original shape. But children love it when food looks unusual. Generously grease the inside of the mug with butter. In another container, mix all the ingredients for the omelette. If we are cooking for a child, then it is wisest to take quail eggs rather than chicken eggs - they are much healthier. Next add cream or milk. If you are thinking of cooking or ham, put this ingredient at the bottom of the mug. Pour in the egg-milk mixture. Place crackers on top. Cover the mug with special microwave film or a lid. Set the oven to 850 W and the timer to two minutes. After the sound signal, we do not open the door. Let the omelette “cook” with internal heat. After this, use a sharp knife with a thin blade to draw along the walls of the mug. Cover it with a plate and turn it over. We ended up with an omelette in the form of a puff "babka". Children will love this original dish.

Protein omelet

Most of the calories in a chicken egg are in the yolk. And the nutritional value of an omelette made from three proteins is only seventy-four units, which makes it a completely dietary dish. So, first of all, separate the yolks (they can be used for other purposes, for example, for making homemade mayonnaise). Beat the whites with a spoonful of milk until foam appears. Add black pepper, chopped herbs, salt. Since we are making an omelet in the microwave, the recipe allows us to mix all the ingredients of the dish in a microwave-safe container. Cover the bowl and leave for three minutes at a power of five hundred (maximum six hundred) W.

French omelette

The dish, which gives its name to similar egg soufflés, is prepared without milk. And also without flour, semolina and broth. Only eggs, herbs and spices. This omelette turns out thin, but delicate in taste. The basic recipe is good for those who are watching their figure. If we cook in the microwave, the recipe allows us to add bell peppers, green peas, tomatoes, hard cheese, and ham to the list of ingredients. Beat the mixture well with a fork. This must also be done to ensure that the eggs do not “shoot” in the microwave. Set the unit to 700 W and bake for a minute. Then mix everything thoroughly again. And bake again for a minute.

Frittata

The recipe suggests making an Italian fluffy omelette in the microwave with a lot of vegetables, but without adding milk. Traditionally, frittata is fried in a frying pan and finished in the oven until cooked. The microwave will allow us to simplify the task. Pour the chopped onion and bell pepper with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and simmer under the lid for four minutes at 700 W. Add grated zucchini and two potatoes, 60 grams of canned corn to the mold. Simmer for another eight minutes, stirring several times. Beat six eggs with pepper, salt and 50 grams of grated Parmesan. Pour in the vegetables. We no longer cover the container, but cook for six minutes at a power of 400 W. Sprinkle the finished frittata with fresh basil and grated cheese.

Mexican breakfast

This recipe for an omelet with milk in the microwave will appeal to lovers of spicy foods. After all, the dish is prepared with salsa sauce. This omelet can also be served in a cup. Break an egg into a mug, add a spoonful of milk, 50 grams of grated cheese, and a pinch of salt. Cut the tortilla into pieces and also place in a cup. Spoon over the salsa. Place the mug in the microwave for one minute without covering it. If necessary (uncooked middle), stir and set for another sixty seconds.
