Vegetable storage as a business: plan, profitability, reviews. What to do if iCloud storage runs out of space Can't click change storage plan

In contact with

In this article, we will return to the study of Apple's cloud service after.

And so, each iOS user with an account is entitled to 5 GB of free cloud storage. If desired, you can increase the amount of storage up to 100 GB for a fee, however, as experience shows, 5 GB, subject to skillful use, is quite enough.

How to reduce iCloud backup size

For optimization, you will need all devices whose backups are stored on a "cloud" service assigned to one Apple ID. It does not have the most convenient control panel for working with multiple devices, so you need to reduce the backup on each device in order.

1. To get started, open Settings and go to -> Documents and data. In this section, you can enable / disable storage of iOS application data in the cloud. There you will see the item Cellular Data, when enabled, saving data is possible even in the absence of a Wi-Fi network using mobile Internet traffic.

2. Return to the page of your iOS device and go to the section Storage and copies. At this stage, you can break loose and spend money on increasing the size of the storage (button Change storage plan). But we advise you not to rush and try to solve this issue with the standard free method.

3. Open item storage. It is here that you will need to perform the main actions. Select the backup corresponding to your device from the list. In the next window, you will have access to the backup options, namely the date of its creation and size. Below you will see a list of applications whose data is saved in the current backup. It is possible that most of them do not require cloud storage.

4. Click Show all programs to get an expanded list of backup data. Look through all the content and try to choose those that have not been launched for a long time and are unlikely to ever be launched. For example, you can save data (saves) of games or correspondence, etc. On the other hand, there is no reason to store an application with downloaded maps of Russia (which take up 2 GB of storage), because this data is constantly available from the application itself. Use the radio buttons to select the most necessary applications for saving data to . Disable those applications whose data you do not need.

5. After optimization, click Create a copy.

If you approach the issue responsibly, then you will noticeably increase the amount of free space in the storage. If you work in this way with backup copies of all devices that have access to the cloud service, then there will be even more space.

If all of the above is done correctly, then you can save on buying additional GB for the cloud and not.

Hello! You need to make backup copies - this is a fact. And, as we know, Apple offers us two great options for backing up information - using iCloud or iTunes. And if everything is more or less clear with iTunes - they connected it to the computer and “OK”, then there may be problems with iCloud. Which? The most varied.

For example, quite recently, my iPhone began to “please” me with a notification with the following text: “iPhone - backup failure. There is not enough free space in iCloud storage to back up iPhone data." You remove the phone from charging, and here is such an error. He doesn't have enough space!

Let's see why this is happening and what can be done about all this? Let's go!

General information or why iCloud copy fails?

Here I will not describe for a long time and in detail about the “cloud” service itself (especially since I have a separate one), but I will highlight some of the main points.

So, iCloud is, in addition to an account, also a remote place to store information (photos, videos, program data, messages, contacts, notes, backups, and much more) of your iOS devices.

But the size of this storage is not infinite - for any user, Apple allocates only 5 gigabytes for free. And when you do not fit into this framework, then the error “Backup failed - not enough free space” appears.

What can be done and how to fix the failure?

There are several options to get rid of the backup error.

Method #1 - Pay

Everyone wants money and Apple is no exception. For relatively a small amount you can simply change your iCloud plan and upgrade from free (5 GB) to any other plan with more storage. So to speak, to buy extra space in the "cloud". How to do it?

Open "Settings - Your account - iCloud - Storage - Buy more space" and choose the tariff that is right for you.

After payment, the iCloud storage increases, which means there is already enough space for your data - a copy begins to be created without any failures.

Method #2 - Free but Relatively Long

Don't want to pay anyone? I fully understand your desire - there is never a lot of money, and then Apple will write off the subscriber every month. Completely stunned!

Well, you can do it for free. But then you have to "keep within" 5 GB of cloud storage. To do this, go to "Settings - Your account - iCloud - Storage - Manage" and see what documents and data are stored there.

See how something superfluous takes up precious space? Feel free to turn it off.

You should also pay attention to the "iCloud Photo Library" (Settings - Photos and Camera). If this option is enabled, then your photos and videos are forcibly sent to the "cloud", thereby "eating up" storage space.

But sometimes a situation like mine can happen - as much as 4.9 GB of free space (out of 5 GB free), and when creating an iCloud backup, it still fails. Why is this happening? The thing is, the size of the next copy is much larger than 5 GB - the iPhone cannot create it because it will not fit into the allotted limit.

You can also see this information for yourself by opening the "Backups" tab in iCloud Storage. Moreover, here you can always correct the data of which the copy will consist (in order to “fit” into the allotted 5 GB) and, perhaps, you will even succeed!

Method number 3 - Free and fast

However, you can get rid of all these annoying signs that signal backup failures in an easier way.

It is enough to turn off the creation of copies in iCloud and use the same iTunes for this, where the space for your data will be limited only by the size of your computer's hard drive.

To do this, open "Settings - Your account - iCloud" and move the slider opposite the corresponding menu item.

Everything, there will be no more failures. Victory!

Now a backup will be created on your computer automatically when you connect and sync with iTunes. And it’s better not to postpone this matter for a long time, but to go and do it right now - it certainly won’t be superfluous, believe my little experience :)

P.S. Want more free iCloud space? I, too! Let's combine our efforts - put "like" and click on the buttons of social networks. I already put my "+1", it's up to you! :)

P.S.S. Do you have any questions after reading the article? Be sure to write in the comments - we will try to figure it out together!

Apple provides its users with 5 GB of free iCloud storage. However, unfortunately, this volume is not enough for everyone. When the storage is almost full, new backups stop being created, and the user has a question: what to do, and there are two ways - to clear the "cloud" of old unnecessary data, freeing up space for new ones, or buy additional iCloud storage.

In this article, we will tell you how to act correctly in both situations.

In general, there are two approaches to the need to clear iCloud storage. The first is to clean the memory of the device itself and manually create a new backup copy, which, after “cleaning”, will significantly “lose weight” and there will be room for new information. This approach is very simple and works great, because in most cases the user only needs to delete or upload old photos and videos to the computer - after all, this type of content steals the most space in the backup.

To implement this scheme, if you decide to remove unnecessary content:

If you want to transfer content to a computer:

  1. Connect the device to the PC, open through the "My Computer" section.
  2. Copy the content to your computer and then delete it in the classic way.
  3. Follow the third step of the previous instruction.

Another approach to how to free up space in iCloud is to use a special section of the cloud settings menu. This approach is good because it allows you to see how much memory is consumed by each of the programs whose data is included in the copy.

So, how to clear iCloud storage space using this menu:

  1. Open the "Settings" of the iPhone or other iOS gadget.
  2. If your device runs on iOS 10.3 and later versions of the platform, tap your name, then iCloud, otherwise, press iCloud right away - in both cases at the very top you will see the statistics of the space used.
  3. Click the "Storage" section, then "Management".
  4. Now tap on the backup - you will see a list of all the programs whose data is stored in it. Here you will get an answer to the question why the storage filled up so quickly - by default, the device backs up a lot of information that the user does not need to store at all, but don't worry, now we will take matters into our own hands.
  5. So, to free up space, you need to disable the sliders opposite all programs in which we do not want to back up data. When the dialog box appears, click "Turn off and delete".
  6. After the cleaning is done, scroll to the very bottom and click "Delete copy". Don't worry, now we will create a new one - with your new settings.
  7. Open the iCloud section in the "Settings" menu, select the "Backup to iCloud" item, click on the "Create a backup copy" link.

Ready! Now only what you need is stored in the cloud.

Good advice! Do not store your photos and videos in the "cloud" - they take up a lot of space, and sooner or later you still have to dump them on your computer. If you care that this type of content was stored in iCloud, we recommend that you turn on the "Optimize storage ..." setting if you have not used it before. To activate it, go to iCloud, then "Photos", check the box next to the "Optimize storage ..." option.

How to increase the amount of storage?

As we said above, clearing iCloud of the information stored in it is not the only way to get a new place to create new backups. If you store a lot of information on your device and the storage fills up quickly even with regular "cleaning", then the best way— purchase of additional space in the cloud.

Apple offers three plans:

  • 50 GB for 59 rubles per month
  • 200 GB for 149 rubles per month
  • 2 TB for 599 rubles per month

To buy more iCloud space:

That's all - as you can see, using iCloud in terms of clearing and purchasing a new place is very simple!

Let's summarize

Now you know how to see how much space the current backup takes in iCloud, how to increase iCloud cloud storage in volumes, and how to clear it of unnecessary information. We hope our instructions were clear and you were able to do what you wanted.

iCloud storage is a very reliable way to keep your content in a safe place. Apple is responsible for storing all of this user data. But if you don't keep your iCloud storage full, you may run out of free space in iCloud.

About full iCloud storage

Judge for yourself: you, say, bought an iPhone 6s, created an iCloud account when you activated your iPhone - the company gives you 5 GB of free space on one of the iCloud servers.

By default, the gadget is set to automatically sync with the icloud.com server - when the iPhone or iPad screen is locked, and the device itself is connected to any known Wi-Fi network that has Internet access, and the device is charging, it uses the unused bandwidth of this The Internet channel, when differences are found, copies files back and forth until the differences are resolved. The result is a fresh, updated copy of all iPhone owner data. In case of loss, "moving" of the owner to another iPhone or iPad while maintaining the current iCloud account, all data can be restored from this "cloud" copy. Agree, the thing is very convenient!

What to do and how to clear space from any of the Apple devices

Various backups are managed from any gadget. All of them together take up 5 GB. Often, iCloud space fills up quickly. Anything over 5 GB can be purchased. And if the owner is insolvent, Apple "freezes" the rest of the files that do not fit into these 5 GB, and access to them before paying for paid space on iCloud is impossible. To do this, you need to optimize your backup without uploading too much to iCloud. Also store your files and settings on a PC, in external media or on other "clouds", where there will be more free gigabytes.

Modern gadgets iPhone and iPad have built-in memory of 64 GB - on iCloud, the user is invariably given 5 GB. It will not be possible to create a second account from one iPhone or iPad - Apple has protected the iCloud service from fraudulent schemes by users. Want more - pay!

How to manage storage

It can be “cleaned up” online, freeing up space in iCloud that is “polluted” by content that is no longer needed. Follow the steps below.

Manage iCloud from iPhone

  1. Open the iPhone settings menu.
  2. Sign in to your iCloud storage settings.
  3. Information about the total amount of iCloud storage will be shown.
  4. Go to see details and manage iCloud.
  5. On which of the previously used devices backup copies would not have been created - select the one you need and open its contents. In any of them, everything is divided into categories - saved pages, encrypted files, etc.
  6. You will see a list of files saved during the backup. To manage them, press the "Edit" key.
  7. A minus button (the "Delete" command) will appear next to each file name from the backup.
  8. Deletion requires confirmation - this is the line of defense against accidental deletion of saved files.

Throughout the cleaning process, you are accompanied by a scale for the utilization of iCloud storage.

Timely revision of content in iCloud will help you in case of lack of free space.

Revision of iCloud backups from iPad and iPod

Techniques for navigating iCloud on the iPad and iPod are no fundamentally different: they use the same software shell, iOS, as on the iPhone. Due to this, the functionality is the same on all these devices (and even the menus are almost the same), including when managing iCloud storage - everything depends only on the size of the internal memory and screen resolution of the device.

But about managing iCloud storage on MacBook computers and on regular Windows-based PCs, it is worth talking specifically.

How to free up space on a full iCloud using a Windows PC

On icloud.com, when you exit directly from your PC browser, your devices' desktop is displayed in the style of Apple iDevices (just like on a real iPhone or iPad).

Your actions with Windows are as follows.

  1. Download, install and launch the iCloud app for Windows.
  2. Sign in to iCloud.
  3. Information about how full your iCloud storage is is displayed.
  4. In this window, you can set up an iCloud storage account, change the settings for saving photos to the iCloud “cloud”, etc. All your information about backups made from iPhone and iPad is stored on iCloud Drive. Advanced iCloud backup settings are available in iTunes. To display more detailed information, press the "Storage" key.
  5. Go to transfer your files from your PC to the appropriate folders stored in the iCloud software system folder located in your Windows user folder.
  6. Transferring the files you need from other folders on your computer allows you to upload them to iCloud storage on the server the next time you connect to the Web and sign in to iCloud, after which they will be available from your iPhone or iPad. From any device, you can also delete them if you no longer need them.

Synchronization is two-way - when a difference in the file structure is detected, all your records are copied back and forth on all devices, including the PC. Thus, your collection will be available anytime, anywhere with an unlimited Internet connection.

Setting up iCloud for Windows XP

While Apple recommends at least Vista version of Windows, you can run the iCloud installation on Windows XP as well. For this, the WinRAR and Orca MSI Editor programs are used, with the help of which the "source" iCloud is configured - the blocking of the iCloud installation for Windows XP is removed. There is also a ready-made, “repackaged” installation file iCloudSetup.exe configured for the XP version on the Web.

Setting up iCloud on MacOS

Both on an Apple PC with MacOS preinstalled - and on regular computers based on the x86 / x64 platform, where you can also install the MAC version (especially for such PCs) - the operation of the iCloud application is similar, because the MacOS graphical shell is almost the same everywhere same. The operation of the iCloud application differs little from the Windows version: the same functions. As an example, a person who installed the French version of iCloud on a MacOS PC and bought 55 GB of iCloud storage.

As you can see, it is not difficult to navigate even in versions of iCloud translated even into Chinese or Arabic - each menu item is accompanied by an icon, which immediately makes it clear what we are working with. In this, Apple is also impeccable.

So, to business.

  1. Log in to get started.
  2. Check if you want to sync your MacBook's stock app data with iCloud.
  3. The "Find device" function is important - in case of loss. Especially if you keep your cash details on your PC - clients of payment systems and banks, exchange instruments, personal data, etc. (for example, WebMoney applications, Sberbank Online @ yn, Forex4you, Alpari Invest, "scans" of documents).
  4. As you can see, you can enable synchronization of Safari bookmarks, your "money" passwords (virtual keychain), phone book, etc. - all this is included in the backup that will be created on the iCloud server as soon as possible. If you do not include in advance what you do not use, you will have more free space in your iCloud storage.
  5. To delete unnecessary "backups" from iCloud, go to iCloud backup management.
  6. The same applies to any applications running on your Apple computer. Each of them creates its own data - they can also be deleted.

What can be cleared on iCloud

You can remove obsolete data from iCloud in the following categories:

  • notes;
  • calendar reminders;
  • letters sent by e-mail;
  • data of installed applications downloaded from the AppStore (for example, the history of calls and messages in Skype, Zello, WhatsApp);
  • bookmarks and browsing history in Safari;
  • voice recordings;
  • data from the Health app (virtual medical record on the device);
  • uploaded to iTunes music(soundtracks, podcasts);
  • SMS/MMS messages;
  • drawings, photographs and video recordings (clips).

An example is the iPhone, which is given instructions on what to save in iCloud. There can be at least a hundred applications - each of them can be controlled.

Copy to iCloud can be controlled either fully or partially. It's affordable, easy and simple.

The iPad and MacBook are configured in the same way.

How to expand space in iCloud via PC, iPhone, etc.

If you do not intend to create separate accounts for each of your Apple devices, you can purchase additional gigabytes in iCloud.

Buying gigabytes from iPhone or iPad

All steps are the same for iPhone and iPad. Follow the steps below.

How to buy more iCloud space on a MacBook

The action plan is the following. Similar.

  1. Give the command: Apple - System Preferences - iCloud - Manage
  2. Choose a plan and go to the icloud.com service to make a payment from your account.

Buying a gigabyte of iCloud on a Windows PC

Do the following.

  1. Launch the iCloud app for Windows, select "Storage".
  2. Select "Buy more space" ("Change storage plan").
  3. Choose a storage plan and go to iCloud to pay for it.

As you can see, the functionality is extremely simple. The consumer should not have any difficulties with paying for iCloud.

Other methods outside the scope of the iCloud service

It happens that there is not enough space on iCloud - but you don’t want to buy extra. Here are some alternative methods:

  • backup to PC using iTunes (local);
  • third-party services: Cloud Mail.ru, GoogleDrive, Yandex-Disk, Dropbox, etc.
  • hard drives or CardReaders with Wi-Fi (on iPhone or iPad, a special application is required; a working Wi-Fi router is also needed);
  • family access - combining Apple iDevices equipment of all family members (each user of such a group stores something specific in order to avoid duplication of exactly the same content on other gadgets in the family).

About "clearing" free space on iCloud. What to do if iCloud drive is full?

The steps above will help you optimize your iCloud experience. By applying these instructions, you can be sure that you will always have enough free space. We wish you never to lose important information for you - even if you change a dozen gadgets and computers!

There will come a time when you want to change your iCloud plan. This can be done on both iOS and macOS.

When you create an iCloud account, you get 5GB of storage for free, where you can store copies of your data, including photos and documents. Depending on how many devices you have, that 5GB will fill up quickly. Apple also offers three paid subscriptions: 50GB, 200GB and 2TB. You can also subscribe to 200GB or 2TB for the whole family.

How to Change Your iCloud Data Plan in iOS

To get started, you need to go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.

1) Go to section Accounts and passwords.

2) Select your accountiCloud.

3) Go to storage.

4) Here you will see the total amount of storage, as well as available memory. By choosing Control, you can see what is using the most free memory.

5) Return to the Storage screen and tap Buy another seat.

6) On this screen, you will see your tariff plan and a list of available ones. You will also be able to cancel your paid subscription.

7) Choose the subscription you like.

8) Click Buy in the upper right corner of the screen. After that, confirmation of the purchase of a new tariff plan will appear.

9) To undo your actions in progress, tap Back in the upper left corner of the screen.

How to Change Your iCloud Data Plan on Mac

1) Go to the Apple menu and select System settings >iCloud.

2) Select Control in the lower right corner of the window.

3) Select Buy another seat in the upper right corner.

4) On the next screen, you will see your plan and all available.

5) If you want to expand your storage, select a subscription and click Further.

6) Enter your Apple ID password and click Buy.

7) To cancel a paid subscription, click Choose a free plan, select a subscription, and then click Ready.

About reducing the amount of storage

If you decide to reduce the amount of storage, this will only happen after the previously purchased subscription expires. If the data that was stored in iCloud no longer fits there, new files, photos and videos will not be uploaded to the storage, and they will not be backed up.

As you can see for yourself, changing your iCloud plan is very easy through any device.
