Weight of Vietnamese fold-bellied piglets by months. How much does a pig weigh or how to find out its mass without scales? How much should a 6 month old piglet weigh?

The effectiveness of raising pigs depends on the correct diet for piglets aged 1-6 months. For a month, the young are gaining 8-10 kg. And it's all thanks to mother's milk. But already after 5 days from the moment of birth, the babies poke their noses into the feeder, where there are mineral supplements. And if the piglets have grown up to 2-4 months, then they do not eat up with milk alone, you have to take care of feeding.

Feeding suckling pigs and how much they should weigh

For 3 weeks from the moment of their birth, piglets feed exclusively on their mother's milk. Moreover, the need for such nutrition manifests itself every 3 hours. For this reason, the people called babies "suckers." Thanks to this diet, the risk of developing diseases among young animals is reduced. From proper nutrition and will depend on how much the piglets will weigh. But there are a number of situations when feeding a sow becomes impossible. Then the farmer needs to choose the right diet, rich in vitamins and useful trace elements.

suckling pigs

In order for little piglets to survive without mother's milk, it is necessary to find options for replacing it. There are several proven ways to prepare such a substitute.

For example, you can take the following components:

 • whole milk of a cow or goat - 1 l;
 • warm water - 30-40 ml;
 • sugar - 2 g;
 • biomycin - 1 g;
 • iron sulfate solution (1%) - 10 ml;
 • egg;
 • aminopeptide - 2.5 g;
 • a mixture of vitamins D and A in a ratio of 1: 2 - 1 ml.

The resulting mixture is heated to 39 degrees and given to sucklings as a milk substitute. Read about the Mangal pig breed reviews.

You can also prepare a nutrient mixture for piglets using the second recipe. To do this, you need to connect the following components:

 • milk - 1 l;
 • chicken egg - 4 pcs.;
 • fish oil - 15 g;
 • sugar - 25 g;
 • salt - 10 g.

Mix everything, heat up and give to the kids. Remember, artificial feeding is not an easy task. Here you need to observe the regime, be patient and skillful.

Already from 1-2 weeks, piglets need to be fed. This will develop in them the habit of free food. Otherwise, with age, the animals will drink the liquid, and leave the porridge.

So you can add charcoal, chalk, hay dust, turf, red clay to the feeder. These are excellent mineral supplements. Increase the dosage every day - from 5 ml to 10 ml.

When the babies are already 1.5 months old, carrots may be present in their diet, and in the summer they need to be given greens and grass. For 2 months of growing one individual, 5-10 kg of succulent feed and 0.5-1.5 kg of hay will go away. In summer, succulent feed can be replaced with the following herbs:

 • alfalfa;
 • clover;
 • tops from beets and carrots.

First, grind the vegetation with a meat grinder, and then give it in finely chopped form, combining it with the rest of the feed.

All these additives allow the young to grow quickly and gain weight. At the end of the milk period, when the piglets are one month old, the average weight of one individual will be 25 kg.

Nutrition scheme and diet of monthly weaners

The turning point for piglets is when they are weaned from their mother's milk and transferred to dry food. They have reduced appetite, growth and development slows down. It also adversely affects the digestive functions. You should not be afraid of this. You just need to adjust the diet of weaners. Within a few days, you will notice positive results. Initially, the amount of food at this time will have to be reduced by 20-30%. The number of feedings per day will be 3-4. He will tell you about the composition of feed for pigs.

On the video - how the piglets are fed:

For a month after weaning, the diet of piglets will consist of the following feeds:

 • concentrated feed - 0.7-0.8 kg;
 • return - 1 kg;
 • boiled potatoes - 0.5-1 kg;
 • carrots and beets - 0.2-0.4 kg;
 • hay - 0.1-0.2;
 • green mass - 1.2-1.5 kg per individual per day.

When the pigs are 2 months old, the amount of feed should be increased. The diet includes the following products:

 • concentrated feed - 1 kg;
 • potatoes - 1-1.5 kg;
 • carrots and beets - 1.5-2 kg;
 • hay - 0.2-0.3 kg;
 • fresh grass - 2-3 kg.

When the piglets are already 4 months old, they need to be fed 2-3 times a day. In this case, you can give thick wet mash. If possible, then it is necessary to equip an area outside the premises where the piglets can eat. The fact is that when feeding with wet mixtures, excessive dampness will develop in the room.

Types of food to feed little piglets

You can feed piglets that have already been taken away from their mother with various types of food, but they are all divided into dry and wet.

Dry

When the piglets are 2-4 months old, they need to add complete feed to the diet, which contains protein and fiber.

It may contain the following components:

 • soybean cake;
 • corn;
 • bran;
 • wheat;
 • monocalcium phosphate;
 • barley;
 • fish flour;
 • vitamin and mineral premix;
 • sunflower cake;
 • salt;

If you give the pig dry food, then you must always monitor the presence of fresh and clean water in the drinker.

When the piglets are 2-4 months old, this is the time for their intensive growth. There is an active development of muscle and bone tissue. The diet should contain a variety of foods to increase appetite and growth. But it is also impossible to overfeed the young, otherwise obesity may occur, which will result in the growth of the animal. Weight gain is 400-700 g.

But how to fatten bacon breeds will help you understand.

How to feed liquid formula at home

If you choose a liquid type of feeding, then you need to learn how to cook such food correctly. For cooking, it is worth using yogurt and kitchen waste. Liquid type of feeding involves the use of mixers. This includes boiled potatoes with vegetables, oilcake or herbs.

combisilos

Piglets aged 2-6 months perfectly eat combined silage. To obtain it, chopped vegetables and herbs are used. These include carrots, beets, lupins, cabbage, legumes. But moldy silage is not suitable for feeding piglets.

Combisilos for pigs

Yeast

Another option for liquid food is yeast. You just need to add baker's yeast to the concentrated feed. Yeasting can be done in a non-dough and sourdough way. Each of them helps to improve appetite, rapid growth and weight gain.

If you use a non-paired method, then you need to add 100 g of yeast to 20 liters of water. The temperature of the liquid should be 40 degrees. After thorough mixing, add 10 g of dry food. Stir the mass every 30 minutes. You can feed the piglets after 7-8 hours of fermentation. Read about the content of the Vietnamese breed of pigs on.

The sponge method involves taking 100 g of yeast and 5 liters of warm water. Add 2 kg of compound feed there. Infuse the composition for 6-8 hours. Then add 15 liters of water and 7-9 kg of compound feed to the dough. You can give this feed to piglets after 2 hours. Feeding piglets up to six months is a responsible matter. At this time, the animals are actively growing and gaining weight. So the food must be balanced. It should include a variety of foods rich in vitamins, minerals and beneficial trace elements.

To calculate the profit from pig production, it is important to know the live weight of the animals. Putting a boar on a scale is impossible, but there are methods by which you can measure animals without them. A novice farmer needs not only to know how to determine the weight of a pig without weights, but also to understand the averages for animals of different ages and breeds in order to adjust their nutrition if necessary and achieve maximum production profitability.

The average weight of a pig depends on several main factors:

 1. Age;
 2. Breed;
 3. Conditions of feeding and keeping.

Like people, pigs sometimes set weight records - there have been cases of animals reaching a weight of more than a ton, while its body length almost reached 3 m. There are also dwarf individuals that are kept as decorative animals. On average, representatives of the breeds most often bred in agriculture reach a live weight of 140 kg (the weight of Vietnamese pigs) to 350 kg (large white pigs).

Hog breed big white

How much pigs that have reached reproductive age weigh depends on their sex. Adult boars are usually 100 kg heavier than sows. So, a female white pig weighs on average 200–240 kg, and a male weighs up to 360 kg. However, with good feeding and low mobility, a large sow can be equal in weight to an average boar and weigh about 330 kg.

The weight of piglets depends on how well they are fattened. At birth, the mass of a piglet does not exceed 1 kg, but at 7 months, when the animal reaches puberty and begins to eat naturally, it reaches 90–110 kg.

To control the fattening process, it is important to know how much a piglet weighs by month:

 • 0 months - when piglets are born, their average weight is 800–1000 g, up to 1400 g for large breeds and no more than 600 g for representatives of the Vietnamese breed. If a piglet is born too small, it can affect the further weight gain and productivity of the animal. To avoid problems, the sow needs to be well fed during pregnancy.
 • 1 month - up to 9 kg. Mass is gaining quickly, as the cub feeds on mother's milk.
 • At the age of 2 months, the piglet begins to be fed with a specially formulated diet, and at 3 months the average weight of the piglet reaches 25 kg.
 • Starting from 3 months, the piglet begins to be actively fattened, so the weight at 4 months reaches 60 kg.
 • At 6 months, the animal approaches reproductive age, its weight reaches 80 kg.

For more information on the average piglet size by week, see the piglet weight table.

A pig becomes an adult at 9-10 months. The mass of young pigs starts from 130 kilograms, they reach their maximum size by the end of the first year. However, already upon receipt of one and a half centners of the live weight of pigs, they can be slaughtered.

How to measure the weight of an adult pig

In order to find out the real weight of an animal and compare it with how much an adult pig weighs on average, you will need a measuring tape, a special table, calculation formulas and a calculator. In pig breeding, three methods for determining mass are used, which differ in accuracy.

Table measurement

If there is not enough pig breeding experience to determine the mass of animals by eye, some measurements will have to be taken. You need to know only two parameters: the length of the body from the back of the head to the beginning of the tail and the girth of the chest behind the shoulder blades. When taking measurements, the head should be directed forward, not tilted, and be on the same axis as the body, so the animal will have to be captivated by something for a while.

To simplify the measurement, you need to follow some rules:

 • You need to measure the animal early in the morning;
 • The pig does not need to be fed before measurement;
 • A soft tape should be used without pressing it into the skin of the animal, so as not to cause discomfort in it and to maintain the accuracy of measurements.

The resulting dimensions are looked for in a special pig weight table (given above), in which the possible lengths of the body are listed vertically, and chest girths horizontally. In the cell at the intersection of the parameters is the approximate mass of the animal. The measurement error in this case is 4–11%.

Formula calculation

To compile the table, a special formula is used, according to which you can calculate the weight of the animal with higher accuracy on your own.

Live weight = 1.54 x X + 0.99 x K - 150

 • X - chest girth in cm;
 • K - body length in cm.

The accuracy in this case is higher, but a couple of % can be subtracted from the result if some amount of food is taken into account.

Calculation by category of fatness

A more accurate formula is based on fatness. It is also more convenient, since you can use it to find out the weight of a pig without scales and tables. To use it, you also need to know the length of the body and chest girth, while the coefficient (which is 150 in the previous formula and is the same for all cases) varies depending on how much the individual is fattened.

Live weight = (X × K)/N

 • X - chest girth in cm;
 • K - body length in cm.
 • N - coefficient of fatness. It is 142 for fat, 156 for medium and 162 for lean animals.
 • body shape;
 • The thickness of the fat, determined by touch by the palpability of the vertebrae of the thoracic spine;
 • Gender and age.

Fatty or sebaceous, pigs are rounded, their neck merges with the shoulder blades, the back is wide and even, without visible outlines of individual parts. The fat has a thickness of 7 cm, the vertebrae are not palpable. Semi-greasy pigs are also classified as fatty, having the same characteristics, only their fat can have a thickness of 5–7 cm.

Normal, ham and bacon, pigs that fall into the average category of fatness have bacon 3-5 cm thick, the fat is solid to the touch. The body is straight, the stomach does not sag. The processes of the spine can be felt by pressing hard on the skin in the region of the 6th and 7th thoracic vertebrae. The weight of an adult pig from this category does not exceed 110 kg.

Skinny or meaty, pigs have a bacon 1.5-3 cm thick, the vertebrae are easy to feel, but they do not protrude through the skin. Signs of fatness are weak, visible interception behind the shoulder blades.

Thus, it is not necessary to be an expert in order to determine the live weight with sufficient accuracy - a pig weight table will help beginner pig breeders, and with experience it will be possible to weigh the animal by eye. The described methods can be used not only to find out the weight of a boar, but also to measure a piglet - the formulas are the same. The only difference between individuals of different ages is that very small piglets can also be measured on the scales, simply by holding them in your arms.

Video: weighing Vietnamese piglets

Knowing how much a pig weighs on average and how to measure the weight of a pig is important not only for determining the profit from the sale of pork, but also for caring for an animal - choosing a diet to maintain its health, calculating dosages of medicines, etc. In addition, weight is used in determining the category of the pig.

Many pig farmers are wondering how to determine the average weight of their pets. This parameter is very important in order to monitor how correctly young animals develop and how high-quality gains are in adults. There is nothing complicated about this, simple and accurate methods for measuring weight have already been developed, which even beginners can handle.

What do weight indicators depend on? To correctly compose a diet, you need to know the average weight of pigs at each life stage. This will help to make timely adjustments in terms of feed volume, as well as decide on the frequency of feeding.

Knowing the averages, the owner must remember that there is a difference between the breed groups of animals. Piglets of a large white pig will be much larger than their peers of the Asian herbivorous breed.

How much does a pig weigh on average

The weight of the animal depends on gender, age group, breed characteristics and method of feeding. The average weight of an adult pig varies from 150 to 300 kg, of course, there are champions who have gained weight over 1 ton. You can also meet miniature representatives who weigh no more than 30 kg. However, farmers practically do not deal with such breeds.

Each owner stops at one or another breed. The animal may be meat or greasy type. In the latter, fat is deposited more actively after the pig is six months old. The meat direction has a difference in active muscle growth.

Meat-greasy breeds can be called intermediate, in which fat and muscle are distributed equally.

On average, weight categories depend on the breed. For example, you can take the manufacturer of the steppe white, which can gain more than 300 kg, and the Vietnamese - up to 140 kg. Young animals lose weight depending on the diet and how the uterus was fed during gestation. Proper, regular feeding leads to the fact that the weight of newborns can vary from 1000 to 1500 g.

As mentioned earlier, the mass of a representative of each breed group is purely individual. But not only the breed factor affects the weight of the animal. For example, the weight of 13 newborn piglets will be much less than that of young animals obtained from an infertile female, even though both animals were kept in the same way.

Until the age of 30 days, babies have a suckling period, and here weight gain depends on the mother's milk indicators.

Diet plays a key role in weight gain. If you give animals concentrated feed, then the weight gain will be more impressive. In the event that the feed base is presented:

 • green mass;
 • vegetable crops;
 • fruits;
 • root crops

you will notice that the animals will gain weight rather slowly. Knowing the average weight of a piglet, as well as the compliance norms for each month, it is possible to plan feeding in such a way as to obtain the maximum weight gain.

In the following table, it will be possible to familiarize yourself with the data on approximate weight estimates for young animals from 1 to 4 weeks of life.

Subtleties of weight measurement

Any owner can easily find out how much his livestock weighs. The developed methods will help with this, the main thing is to have a measuring tape, a table or know the formula at hand.

Most experienced breeders can offhand determine how much weight a pig has gained. However, this method does not differ in accuracy. But having knowledge of some parameters of the body of the animal, you can make more accurate calculations. The wearer must know the girth behind the shoulder blades and the length. These measurements are already compared with those figures that are in the table.

To find out the length of the body, the tape is applied to the middle of the occipital region and a measurement is taken along the spine to the root of the tail. During measurements, the pig should have a straight head position, it should not lower or raise it. Girth is measured by the angle of the shoulder blades behind the forelimbs. You need to remember the resulting numbers and find them in the table where the columns with the values intersect.

End product after slaughter

How much meat can be obtained from a pig depends on gender, age group, breed characteristics and fatness. Also of great importance is the ability to properly slaughter and butcher an animal. Pig breeding is guided by the following approximate indicators of the final product:

 • bisexual animals weighing a hundred kg - receive up to 75%;
 • from 120 to 140 kg - up to 80%;
 • over 180 kg - 85%.

Half carcasses and carcasses

The concept of live weight refers to the mass on the eve of slaughter. But after the process of killing and primary processing of the product (chopping off the limbs and head), it becomes smaller and passes into the next concept - slaughter weight.

If the animal weighed 120 kg, then:

 1. Bone weight - 10 kg.
 2. Waste - 3 kg;
 3. Salo - 20 kg.

In the end, 87 kg will remain for clean meat. Of course, all figures are approximate.

Weight of other internal organs

If we take an average animal with a weight of 100 kg, then we can say the following:

 • head weight - up to 9 kg;
 • hearts - 0.32 kg;
 • lungs - 0.8 kg;
 • liver - 1600 grams;
 • kidneys - 0.26 kg.

So, from the article it becomes clear that the weight of pigs depends on many factors. With the right approach, animals will give good weight gain.

The most important factors determining the economic feasibility of farming are natural indicators obtained as a result. In the production of pork, both for own needs and for sale, the indicator, the weight of the pig, is very important. It is far from always that accurate instruments of the required size are available. Meanwhile, weight gain control is important from the time a piglet is born to slaughter in order to determine meat yield and feed conversion. Find out how much a pig weighs and what measurement methods exist.

Average weight of adults and piglets by months

For the correct preparation of the diet, it is necessary to know the average weight of a pig at different stages of life. This allows you to timely adjust the quality characteristics, quantity and sometimes frequency of feeding.

Guided by averages, it is important to understand the differences between different breeds of pigs. In a Large White piglet, live weight will be much higher than in its peer, but from Asian herbivores.

Each breed has its own approximate data on how much a pig can weigh on average at a given age.

In addition to breed, other factors also affect weight. If the sow carried 11 babies, then at birth the weight of the piglets will be less than in the infertile survey, which occurred in the same pig, all other things being equal.

Until about a month old, piglets are suckled. Their mass largely depends on the milk production of the sow.

Nutrition is a key factor that contributes to mass gain. Feeding exclusively concentrated feed leads to intense weight gain. A diet based on a large amount of grass, vegetables and fruits, on the contrary, reduces the rate of growth in live weight. Therefore, when comparing how much a piglet weighs on average, with the standard values listed for months, it is necessary to take into account feeding data.

Table for estimating the weight of piglets in the first month of life:

Monthly piglet weight table:

Month (end of period)

Weight, kg

The error in the mass of Landrace, Duroc, Large white pigs, as well as breeds derived from them, which are usually not kept for more than six months, is approximately 10%. Females traditionally weigh less than males.

The pigs keep growing. Boars in the largest breeds, which are used for industrial fattening and pork production, reach 350 kg. Sows weigh an average of 100 kg less. The age of 10–12 months is considered optimal for the start of active reproduction, when the live weight is conditioned, and the body of a boar or pig is at its peak. At the same time, the male weighs on average 180–200 kg, and the female 120–140 kg.

Small Asian pigs gain about 80 kg by the age of one. The maximum weight for such pigs is 140 kg.

Methods for measuring weight in pigs

In industrial conditions, in large farms, when pork production is put on stream, it is not difficult to compare live weight and standard weight - as a rule, there are the necessary instruments for accurate measurement.

Another question is how to find out the weight of pigs without scales? A table with approximate data on live weight by months will be useless if you do not know how to measure weight using measurements and calculate weight using formulas.

As a rule, experienced pig breeders use several methods at once, this gives the most accurate result for determining the mass. By measuring the length of the body and the volume of the chest, you can find the weight of the pig in the table or get it by making simple calculations.

Of course, these methods of measuring weight do not provide high accuracy of results, but they allow at least approximately to know the readiness of the piglet for slaughter. With the knowledge of the relevant coefficients, it is quite possible to calculate the yield of meat from the carcass.

With measurement tables

The easiest to use pig weight table. To find out the live weight of any individual, it will take a little time and only one measuring device. Most often, a tailor's measuring tape is used. Although you can buy a special one for pigs. Produced and looks almost the same. Elastic, polymer-based, tape provides ease of measurement and subsequent cleaning.

Having received the necessary data, you can use the pig weight table. You only need two measurements:

 1. Body lengths. For measurement, it is necessary to attach the tape to the back of the pig's head and, stretching it along the spine, fix the required size in centimeters at the point of the base of the tail.
 2. Breast volume. Measured with a tape, in a circle, in centimeters, around the chest, along a line passing at the corners of the shoulder blades and immediately behind the front legs.

When measuring, you must adhere to the following rules:

 1. To determine the most accurate dimensions, it is necessary to carry out all manipulations 2–3 hours before the next feeding.
 2. The pig, if possible, should stand straight, and calmly keep his head straight.

To determine the weight, in the table you need to find the intersection of the row and column that correspond to the measurements received. The weight value will be approximate. The error of this method is about 4–11%.

For example, a pig with a body length of 1.10 m and a chest volume of about 1.12 m weighs approximately 114 kg. The error in determining the mass is in the range of 4.5–12.5 kg, both up and down.

And a piglet 70 cm long, with a chest volume of 68 cm, weighs approximately 27 kg. The error is from 1 to 3 kg. If the weight does not match the weight by months, then nutrition is most likely insufficient.

By formulas

If you already know how to find out the weight of a pig without weights, using tables, another method will help you - calculation, using special formulas. It is very useful if tables for determining the weight of pigs are not available.

To do this, you need the same measurements - the length of the body of a pig and the girth of the chest. In addition, a little experience is needed to give a visual assessment of the physique. This depends on the applied coefficients.

In particular, the ratio:

 • "162" is used for an underfed animal that looks thin;
 • "156" - for medium-fed pigs;
 • "142" - it is recommended to use if the animal looks normally well-fed or fat.

After that you need:

 1. Calculate the product of the length of the body and the volume of the chest (in centimeters).
 2. The result obtained is divided by the coefficient that most closely characterizes the physique of the pig at the moment.

If we take the same examples that were used when determining the weight of pigs according to the tables, we get:

 1. A normally well-fed pig, with a body length of 110 cm and a chest volume of 112 cm, will weigh: (110 * 112) / 142 = 86.7 kg.

Medium well-fed: (110 * 112) / 156 = 78.9 kg.

Poorly well-fed: (110 * 112) / 162 = 76 kg.

 1. A piglet with a body length of 70 cm and a chest volume of 68 cm in the case of a normal physique weighs: (70 * 68) / 142 = 33 kg.

Medium: (70 * 68) / 156 = 30 kg.

Thin: (70 * 68) / 162 = 29 kg.

Another formula for calculating live weight also involves the use of coefficients and body measurements of the pig (length and volume of the chest):

Weight (kg) = chest volume (cm) * 1.54 + body length (cm) * 0.99 - 150.

Thus, for our examples, we get:

 1. In a pig: 112 cm * 1.54 + 110 cm * 0.99 - 150 = 131.4 kg.
 2. For a piglet: 68 * 1.54 + 70 * 0.99 - 150 = 24 kg.

Despite the presence of discrepancies in the results obtained, they make it possible to approximately determine body weight.

In fact, even without a scale at hand, you can find out the mass of a piglet or a pig by measurements. So it is much easier to control how fattening is going on correctly or to calculate the required dose of medicines for the animal. In addition, even before slaughter, you will have information about the output of meat from the carcass. Knowing how much pork you will have at your disposal makes it much easier to orient future customers or prepare a place to store the corresponding volumes of meat.

Vietnamese bellied pig is becoming more and more popular among domestic farmers. The meat of this breed is juicy and tender. However, there are certain difficulties: it is impossible to grow this breed in the same way as ordinary pigs.

The breed owes its name to the drooping belly, which is very prominent compared to short legs. Good-natured, calm black pigs with a flattened muzzle and small ears are neat and clean. Also, "compact". Their small size allows a decent number of individuals to be placed in a relatively small pigsty.

The Vietnamese type of pigs practically does not get sick and perfectly tolerates all the hardships of climatic conditions, including temperature changes. Already at 4-5 months, the bellied pig is ready for procreation. Mumps gives birth to 10-20 piglets. Babies do not have a fatty layer, so week-old piglets should be in a very warm room.

A small healthy piglet has an elastic body and strong legs. You need to feed the bellied species so that they quickly gain weight. One week old piglets suckle their mother. At the age of 10 days, they begin to slowly eat with her. Babies have a minimum supply of substances necessary for the body. Since they eat only milk, the body has a low iron content. This is a direct path to anemia, which leads to a slowdown in development, a fatal outcome is possible. Many farmers give vaccinations that enrich the body with copper and iron.

The bellied piglet is very beneficial in nutrition, as it feeds on grass. They can practically be herded. Of course, one herb is not enough for slaughter. In the early days, cow or goat milk, eggs are added to the diet. The milk is slightly warmed up and a drop of vitamin A is added every day, and every other day D. These vitamins allow you to gain weight well and have strong bones. The important point is not to overfeed, otherwise intestinal upset is guaranteed.

Period

At the age of one month, the baby can weigh about 5 kg. During this period, babies are just beginning to wean from mother's milk. Some pig farmers believe that the longer mother's milk feed the babies, the better. But this is an erroneous opinion. It is necessary to include in the diet supplements of chalk and clay, vitamin porridge. In order for the Vietnamese breed of piglets to gain weight, compound feed is added to the diet. There must be water in the enclosure at all times. At the age of one month they are fed with ordinary hay, corn porridge. By two months, piglets weigh 10 kg.

It is simply necessary to know the exact weight of a piglet: if it is insufficient or excessive, then there are some problems in the body. If, for example, at the age of two months the boar weighs more or less than the value indicated in the special weight gain chart, then the pig breeder should observe the animal. Perhaps he is inactive, eats poorly, sleeps insufficiently, perhaps changes in the daily routine should be made. The first month of life is very important, the development and weight of babies should be age appropriate.

Three months

Three months is a significant period for bellied piglets. At this time, they begin puberty and there is a special growth. How much should a bellied piglet weigh at three months of age? According to pig breeders, up to 23 kg. At this age, the piglet eats like an adult. His diet includes compound feed, cake, vegetable mixtures, legumes, bone meal.
