The most productive phone. The most powerful smartphones The most productive AnTuTu smartphone

Recently, the developers of the AnTuTu benchmark presented their rating of smartphones with the best price-performance ratio, and now it's time to take stock of 2016. The list of the most powerful devices was headed by two autumn new Apple products, and the first place was taken by the iPhone 7 Plus with a record score of 181,316 points. The new generation of Android flagships has a chance to push it, but this will happen later.

Who is the most powerful in the world?

The OnePlus 3T came closest to Apple devices with an average score of 163,013 “parrots”, followed by the Chinese device LeEco Le Pro 3 with similar characteristics (Snapdragon 821 and 6 GB of RAM). The previous "flagship killer" OnePlus 3 gave way to fifth place Moto Z, which has only 4 GB of RAM, but almost untouched by Android 7.0 Nougat. As you can see, manufacturers are not wasting time optimizing the system.

Xiaomi Mi 5s scored 145,093 points and outperformed its older brother Mi 5s Plus, despite the difference in RAM and lower processor frequency. With what it is connected - it is not known. The rating also includes ASUS ZenFone 3 and ZTE Axon 7. A separate list for Android smartphones includes Google Pixel and Pixel XL on the same Snapdragon 821 processor, but with 4 GB of RAM. Control over device hardware and software has clearly benefited the search giant. Apparently, AnTuTu decided not to list gadgets for the Chinese market, such as the Vivo Xplay 6 and the more exotic Smartisan M1 and M1L.

For a snack - the performance rating of iOS devices. The 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro leads the way here. Only he managed to overcome the milestone of 190,000 points in AnTuTu. iPhone 7 Plus has moved to second place, and iPad Pro 9.7 closes the top three. The iPhone 7 (number four) is followed by models from previous generations.

AnTuTu indicates the average results without taking into account all kinds of cheats, in addition, the models from the list must be tested at least 2000 times. The rating includes mainly devices from the second half of 2016. The Korean flagships Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 edge had almost no chance, and the Galaxy Note 7, for obvious reasons, failed to take over.

2016, and now it's time to choose the most worthy smartphones.

10th place: Xiaomi Mi5S

Xiaomi continues to release two flagship smartphones a year. A good Mi5 in the first half of 2016 was replaced by a more advanced Mi5S.

Here is an all-metal body, maximum filling (with the most powerful Snapdragon 821), an excellent Sony photomodule, a large battery and a traditionally low price for its characteristics.

The main disadvantage is the non-ergonomic case - due to the large rounding, the smartphone lies worse in the hand and strives to slip out of it, while the narrow ends dig into the palm. In addition, we found the touch-sensitive Home key (with a sometimes non-functional fingerprint scanner) not very convenient.

9th place: Meizu Pro 6

Another Chinese has secured the 9th line in our rating. And although an updated version of the Pro 6s has already been released after it, which eliminated the main disadvantages of the Pro 6 - not the most outstanding camera and battery life, it is still difficult to buy it in Belarus.

The smartphone itself is very balanced and somewhat reminiscent of the iPhone 7. Moreover, its good assembly, comfortable, high-quality translated shell, excellent screen and reference sound make Meizu Pro 6 a worthy Android replacement for Apple's flagship (at half the price). We mentioned the cons above.

8th place: OnePlus 3

This year's "flagship killer" OnePlus 3 was named one of the best smartphones of 2016 by reviewers.

However, for some reason, the manufacturer decided to speed up the annual update cycle and a few months later released its updated version - . It has a slightly more powerful processor (Snapdragon 821 versus 820), a 16 MP front camera (instead of 8) and a more capacious battery.

However, this did not greatly improve the original, which, after the release of the new device, also lost in price.

Buyers of the OnePlus 3 can still expect a quality build, 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, an excellent 16MP main camera, and decent battery life.

7th place: Moto Z

Moto Z is, one might say, the first smartphone that fully mixed the "blood" of Motorola and Lenovo.

Unlike last year's flagships, there is a completely different design, an ultra-thin body (5.2 mm), as well as the ability to attach modules that expand the functionality of the device.

The modules here are "fastened" to the back cover. In addition to an extra battery (the most useful addition), there may be, for example, a projector, a powerful speaker, and even a Hasselblad camera.

The undoubted pluses of Moto Z include an ultra-clear and bright 5.5-inch Quad HD display and powerful stuffing. The main disadvantage is the short battery life.

6th place: Apple iPhone SE

One of the main surprises of this year, the compact and powerful iPhone SE, got into our top.

The smartphone combines the body and 4-inch screen of the iPhone 5s, as well as the filling and main camera of last year's iPhone 6s. As a result, we have before us the most powerful compact gadget of 2016.

If you want a flagship but don't like spades and don't have prejudices about iOS, then the iPhone SE is the perfect option.

5th place: Google Pixel and Pixel XL

This year, Google introduced its very first “branded” smartphones (Motorola gadgets at the time when Google owned this company do not count).

The 5-inch Pixel and 5.5-inch Pixel XL received the highest technical specifications and the best, according to the Internet giant, a mobile camera (which, however, not all observers agree with). In addition, buyers of Googlephones can traditionally rely on pure Android and its prompt update.

With all this, Google gadgets have a rather controversial two-color design and high cost (at the level of the iPhone 7/7 Plus).

4th place: LG G5

LG continues to "look for itself" in the smartphone market. Abandoning the volume rocker on the back cover, the company came up with a modular design - the lower part of the smartphone snaps off and allows you to turn the gadget into a compact camera or an advanced music player due to interchangeable modules.

However, users were not enthusiastic about this idea, given the low practical value of "friends" (as LG called plug-in modules) and their high cost.

But the LG G5 and its simplified version of the G5 SE (which differs only in a weaker processor and less RAM) have another very big plus - this is its dual camera. Unlike the cameras on the Huawei P9 and iPhone 7 Plus, the cameras work independently of each other.

The first takes good wide-angle shots, which is very useful when traveling, the second is simply one of the best mobile cameras of 2016, comparable to that of the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Google Pixel.

In addition, the LG G5 boasts powerful hardware, good sound and eye-catching design - with a rounded top above the display and a "futuristic" back cover. And the biggest disadvantage of the device is the short battery life.

3rd place: Huawei P9

This year, Huawei for the first time equipped its flagship with a dual camera, developed, moreover, in collaboration with the famous Leica. However, the smartphone received a high third line of the rating not only because of it.

Huawei P9 is one of the most balanced gadgets in the ranking. It has an excellent design and case materials, an optimal screen size for many (5.2 inches) with an optimal resolution for it (Full HD), smart filling, comfortable shell, good battery and excellent sound.

The dual camera allows you to take very high-quality pictures, including in low light. And all this is emphasized by a very affordable price.

2nd place: Apple iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7

Apple's Sevens came out as rather controversial gadgets. On the one hand, they have the most powerful hardware in the world of smartphones, beautiful screens, protection against water and dust (for the first time from Apple), good cameras (and the Plus version also has a dual one with 2x optical zoom), an excellent fingerprint scanner and a polished to shine iOS 10.

But on the other hand, there is a very controversial rejection of the 3.5 mm jack, the Home touch button (which does not understand gloves) and the same slow charging.

This year, Apple for the first time did not report record sales for the first weekend, and analysts predict a further drop in demand for "apple" gadgets. Nevertheless, the American company still holds the second place in the sales of smartphones in the world, selling only a few models.

1st place: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy S7

Photo: CNET

I would like to put the Galaxy Note 7 in the first position, however, for the whole of 2016, the Galaxy S7 edge and its “younger brother” Galaxy S7 had to take the rap.

An ultra-sharp (Quad HD) curved 5.5-inch screen, a glass and metal body, powerful hardware, a large battery, water and dust resistance and one of the best mobile cameras in the world - all this makes the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge the leader of our rating .

We decided not to separate the more compact Galaxy S7 with a flat screen from it - because it has the same style and the same advanced features as the edge. By the way, there are rumors that the Galaxy S8 will not have a flat screen at all - users liked the curved options so much.

And what other smartphones deserve to get into the top 10 of the outgoing year? Let us know about it in the comments!

The past year turned out to be rich in novelties in the world of telephony. The long-awaited version updates, unexpected premieres, the appearance of newcomers - the manufacturers amazed as best they could. Among the abundance of released gadgets, it is easy to get confused, each brand tries to outperform its competitors by creating powerful advertising campaigns.
- not an easy task. We have created a ranking of the best smartphones of 2016, which includes the most productive and popular models.

The silver medal of the rating is given to a newcomer to the Russian market.
Google has been producing high-quality devices under its own brand for a long time, but from the factories of other eminent companies, such as LG, HTC, Samsung. This time a new model has come out - Pixel - without binding someone else's name.

The optimized Nougat 7.1 platform allows the device to be highly productive. A capacious battery keeps the battery in working condition for almost a day, in sleep mode - up to three weeks.
The five-inch 2.5D screen, covered with oleophobic protection, has a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

The camera draws special attention. A well-known software and hardware developer has created an international DxOMark rating that tests photo and video cameras. In 2016, DxOMark awarded the first place to the Google Pixel. The photos are really fantastic, without a single noise, clear and bright.
The cost of Google Pixel in Russia is from 40 thousand rubles.

A powerful smartphone is not necessarily a flagship. There are cool phones on the market with top hardware and for little money. Next - TOP 5 best mid-range processors with high-performance flagship processors.

1st place - Pocophone F1

This is the cheapest phone in the world with the flagship Snapdragon 845 processor. You will not find anything else available on the market with this chip, which makes Pocophone unique. For those who don't know, the Snapdragon 845 is the flagship processor that is put on all the top flagships like Samsung Note9, OnePlus 6T, Google Pixel 3 and others.

Xiaomi managed to create a smartphone for little money by stuffing such a cool processor into it. It is built on a 10nm process technology, includes 8 cores divided into 2 clusters:

  • 4xKryo 385 (Cortex-A75) 2.8GHz
  • 4xKryo 385 1.8GHz

Plus, there's Adreno 630 graphics, a Cat.18 LTE modem, 5GHz Wi-Fi, and a 32-bit LPDDR4X memory controller. The chip was released at the beginning of 2018, that is, it is almost a year old. However, there are no smartphones on the new Snapdragon 855 processor yet, which makes the SD845 the TOP in the Qualcomm line.

The Pocophone F1 is an excellent liquid-cooled smartphone that dissipates heat efficiently through its plastic body. There is no NFC here, cheap manufacturing materials are a retribution for cheapness. But the phone takes good pictures with the Gcam application (Google Camera), has a cool IPS screen with accurate color reproduction. You will find examples of photos on the camera and an overview.

2nd place - Honor Play

If Pocophone is the most affordable smartphone with an SD845 processor, then Honor Play is the cheapest with a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chip.

This processor includes 8 cores divided into 2 clusters:

  • 4xCortex-A73 2.4GHz
  • 4xCortex-A53 1.8GHz

Also here is a Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, a 2-channel LPDDR4 memory controller and an LTE modem with data transfer rates up to 1.2 Gb / s. And although Kirin 970 is the flagship chip that is installed on top Huawei phones, it is weaker than the competitive Snapdragon 845. Still, Honor Play "pulls" all games on Android and provides high speed.

Kirin 980 and phones based on it have already been released, so devices based on Kirin 970 have fallen in price; the same Honor Play is available for less than 20 thousand rubles. Plus, there is NFC here, which was not in Pocophone F1, therefore Honor Play is one of the cheapest smartphones with top hardware and Google Pay contactless payment technology.

3rd place - Xiaomi Mi 8

Mi 8 is the coolest flagship from Xiaomi after the more recent Mi Mix 3. Of course, it cannot be called a budget one, since the price exceeds 20 thousand rubles; on average, you will have to pay 24-26 thousand “wooden” for it, but somewhere on Ali it costs 20-22 thousand.

After the Pocophone F1, this is the most affordable smartphone on the market with the flagship SD845 processor, plus an Amoled display, dual-band GPS, a glass body, and an NFC chip for contactless payment. These are all advantages that the Pocophone lacks, but they imply a price increase.

Also in Mi 8 there is a problem - inefficient heat dissipation from the processor, which leads to throttling in games and when performing complex tasks in which the processor is heavily loaded. As a result, the case on Xiaomi Mi 8 heats up, which is felt by the hands. Plus, there is a drop in frequencies and performance drops after a while. In this regard, the Pocophone F1 is better because of the liquid cooling technology.

Still, Xiaomi Mi 8 is the best budget flagship on the market with up-to-date technologies and a powerful SoC, although its potential is not 100% realized here.

4th place - Honor 10

Another phone with a Hisilicon Kirin 970 processor. As I wrote above, with the release of Kirin 980, phones based on the previous SoC fell in price, including Honor 10, which is now available for the same money as Xiaomi Mi 8. But since Mi 8 is equipped with the best hardware, it is higher in the ranking.

Honor 10 is made in a glass case, equipped with a 5.84-inch IPS display with Full HD + resolution; rear - 2 cameras with resolutions of 16 + 24 MP and f/1.8 aperture. The device takes good pictures, but worse than Xiaomi Mi 8.

As befits a modern flagship, there is an NFC chip, fast charging technology, AC Wi-Fi and a USB Type-C connector. The phone is not new - it was released in the middle of 2018, and then it was the TOP, but now it is not. At the beginning of 2019, this is one of the cheapest smartphones with the flagship hardware Kirin 970. It is about 4-5 thousand rubles more expensive than Honor Play, so I put it in 4th place.

5th place - Meizu X8

Completes the TOP "average" from Meizu. This is the most affordable phone in this review and the cheapest device based on the Snapdragon 710 processor.

This processor is designed for mid-range phones, which is the Meizu X8. It is built on the basis of 8 cores, divided into 2 clusters:

  • 2xCortex-A75 2.2GHz
  • 6xCortex-A55 1.7GHz

It also received integrated Adreno 616 graphics and an X15 LTE modem with a maximum download speed of up to 800 Mbps. This is the next processor in the class after the SD660, and Meizu X8 is by far the most affordable phone based on it. And although this is not a TOP chip, its resource is more than enough to "pull" modern games on Android, plus it will ensure multitasking and smooth operation of the smartphone. The Meizu X8 itself is equipped with an IPS screen with Full HD + resolution, a 2-module camera with 12 + 5 MP, 4 or 6 GB of RAM.

There is no NFC, radio and microSD card slot, fast charging is also not announced, but there is AC Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. Judging by the reviews, the device is suitable for gaming and it is one of the best budget and powerful smartphones based on a mid-range SoC on the market.

Please rate this article:

The power of mobile devices is increasing from year to year. It has reached the level of PCs that were relevant just a few years ago. But how expedient it is to constantly increase power is a moot point. After all, even in the budget segment there are devices that can by no means be called slow. What can we say about the flagships, in which the performance margin is so large that even the most demanding games on hardware resources cannot reveal the full potential of the device.

Nevertheless, in order for the market not to stand still, for there to be a systematic influx of funds, and to be competitive, developers have to constantly improve their gadgets. With the release of a new smartphone, the buyer begins to think about buying it, because his current device is already “outdated” and is no longer considered the best.

However, we want to clarify that the most powerful smartphones of the first quarter of 2016 are described below, and in May the situation changed and.

TOP 3 most powerful smartphones in 2016

On their website, the developers of the popular Antutu benchmark published statistics showing which smartphones received the highest performance rating in AnTuTu 6. These data were published in March of this year.

  1. Xiaomi Mi5 - 136,875;
  2. Samsung Galaxy S7 edge - 134,599;
  3. Apple iPhone 6s - 133,781.

Based on this ranking, Xiaomi Mi5 is the clear leader. Responsible for the performance of the device is a Snapdragon 820 processor, an Adreno 530 graphics chip, and a very fast 3 or 4 GB RAM, depending on the version.

Galaxy S7 edge is equipped with Samsung Exynos 8890 Octa chip, Mali-T880 graphics and 4GB RAM. The smartphone slightly lags behind Mi5 in the Antutu test, but it is ahead in Geekbench 3. In multi-core mode, it scores 5358 points, while Mi5 scores 5347. The difference is actually ridiculous.

The iPhone 6s uses the Apple A9 (2 cores, 1.85 GHz) as the processor. The amount of RAM is 2 GB. In the GeekBench 3 multi-core test, the smartphone scores 4448 points.

Not everything is so clear

The screen resolution of Xiaomi Mi5 is FullHD (1920 x 1080). And the Galaxy S7 edge has a 2K screen (2560 x 1440). As the resolution increases, the load on the GPU increases. Accordingly, this nuance could, at least slightly, but still affect the result of the synthetic test. You don't have to be a genius to understand that both devices are fantastically fast. And some meager difference in the numbers in this case does not play a role, and it is almost impossible to feel this difference in practice.

So who is the main "strongman" in 2016?

The same Xiaomi Mi5, only Pro version, with a maximum processor frequency (2.15 GHz), and with 4 GB of RAM. In the Antutu test, he scores about 142 thousand points. At the time of writing this material, this is indeed the most powerful smartphone in the world.

However, changes are possible towards the end of the year. It is possible that new models of flagships will appear that will be able to push the leaders from their positions. Apple fans are looking forward to the release of the iPhone 7, and Samsung is expected to update its line of smartphones with stylus with the release of the Galaxy Note 6.

Manufacturers from China are also not sitting idly by. Recently there was information about the imminent release of the ZUK Z2 Pro smartphone, based on the Snapdragon 820 processor, and with 6 GB of RAM.

According to preliminary data from the manufacturer, the device scores 144,939 points in Antutu. If the information is confirmed, ZUK Z2 Pro will outperform Xiaomi Mi5 Pro in the synthetic test. For reference: ZUK is a subsidiary of Lenovo.
